I think the splash damage should either be less lethal, or harder to pull off. Storms and nukes are definitely not easy to pull off so they are cool. But baneling and disruptors are just too easy that it “cheapens” the games somewhat.

Clem IS great. Terran IS OP. especially so in the late game, which is why Toss and Zerg both try to end games against Terran early, because otherwise their chance of success drops off. Recent nerfs (i.e. double baneling nerfs) have made this even harder. Thus Clem goes from being GREAT, to arguably BEST. theres only about 12 players to really compare him to, but when he starts consistently beating them after years of not (regularly) beating them... Terran OP.

I've wondered a few times if the game being played at very high speed just aggravates splash damage kabooms (12:27). A lower speed would put more emphasis on the strategy side of things vs the micro side?

Widow Mines are the "weakest" of the three so to say since they are quite easy to split against and then they die almost instantly since they need to be burrowed to fire. Banelings are relatively fast and usually used en masse and are super easy to mass really quickly. Disruptors are a "fire-and-forget" unit since it can move away after firing.
Widow mines are legit the strongest what are on about Banelings never trade cost efficiently outside of zvz best case is an even trade. Widow mines are by far the hardest to split against and work both at harrasing and main fight. Disruptors really only made for the sake of disurptors in pvz. Pvp you lose mobility Pvt only made cause its the only form of reliable splash damage. The only reason widow mines aren’t made in tvt is cause scvs have an extra 5 hp.
Hot take. Widow mines are also cheap and don’t require a lot of micro. You can split if you have the apm and can see everywhere on the map at the same time

Very impressive match from Trigger. As a Clem absolute fanboy, I can't say I'm not happy to see him win and massacre his opponent. But I do appreciate the fact that a "new" player is rising and playing this kind of impressive, "sure to lose but sure to learn out of" game.

Why was Clem flying his factory around 11:57 in the top middle side of the map? Lowko just casually looked at it like two times, and didn't say anything. Is this some kind of strategy?
Terrans usually determine the amount of production structures they build by the army composition they are going to go for and later on into the game when they switch their army composition some structures become unnecessary. So they place them somewhere around the map to grant them vision because they no longer want to use them and they might as well provide some value. You can see this with the mech playstyle very often. Players usually float their first barracks to a place they want to get vision of because you only build the barracks to build factories and maybe some marines in the early game if you want to feel a bit safer. They are quite tanky for their price and if you lose it you can build another one for just 150 minerals.
I really like trigger playstyle but he doesn’t know when to pull the TRIGGER. He knows its a bad engangment but feels like his hand is forced. He has so much potential and if he could just learn to be a bit more patient I think he could rivel hero and maxpax

I like Clems games, but Maxpax and Raynor’s Protoss as well. I still believe the units are unbalanced for the protoss though. The widow mines, the ghost being a really good units against protoss. Protoss are fewer in numbers due to higher cost and supply units, so they are more vulnerable to a EMP shots. High templars are really a good unit but the ghost is faster and has cloak. Plus EMP damage Protoss buildings too.
I really feel you talking about the abundance of splash damage in SC2. Units like the Disruptor, Banelings, Widow Mine, they feel like they were put in the game because it was intended as an E-sport, so they can create those big "WHOA!" moments for the crowd like you said. But it doesn't make it fun to play against, they're units that require comparatively little skill and attention to use versus the skill and attention needed to take care of them, and all it takes is a split second of not paying attention or a single misclick and they blow up half your army. That said, I could see the Disruptor being heavily nerfed to kill armies less quickly, but I dunno if the Widow Mine can or should be fixed. Given that Terrans have so many other ways to harass enemy worker lines, protect their choke points, and deal splash damage, would the loss of the Widow Mine mean all that much? Maybe against clumped-up air units, but I'd sooner buff the Liberator's AtA

Clem is a great player, no denying it. Zerg and Toss both facing constant nerfs over several patches might also explain Clem's "jump" to new heights. A great player suddenly faces less resistance, and viola, championships!

They said there are too many explosions and game ending damage so they are nerfing disurptors and banelings Then widow mines fall under that same exact category and yet got buffed. Terran feels excluded or favored and thats why people are mad. What has the buff done? Make the mines more microable and increase chance they make it out alive for drops. Lots of new tricks you can do with the buff actually.
Prior to Christmas a Clem is Dark game showed Widow mines unborrowing in time to evade viles..... it's also a safer way to get out of harassing workers
