    I watched several vids about Chase trifecta use, your explanation is the best, clear, perfect speed, not too fast, and on point. But the best part is giving the tips on what card to use for specific purchase. Thank you very much!!!

    In my opinion, the Chase Trifecta is still the best credit card setup you can have. Especially if you're a beginner! The ease of use of Chase's points in combination with how cheap the setup is overall makes it a powerhouse of a trifecta for anybody in the credit card game. Also, one tip I've been implementing lately is to downgrade all the Chase cards you don't use or want an annual fee on anymore to an OG Chase Freedom rather than a Chase Freedom Flex or Unlimited so you can get back in line for those sign-up bonuses too! This was a great breakdown as always Kevin!

    hi Kevin, appreciate your content, question: why using a trifecta if the chase Sapphire preferred gives me 10% aniversary bonus + the points it gives me at the end of statement, totaling at least 11 points per dollar, or did I do the math wrong?

    • @KevinYang
      @KevinYang  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The Sapphire anniversary bonus is on the amount of spend you did, not the points you already received! So for example, if you spent $25000 (which for example maybe you got 25000 points already if at 1x), you'll get 2500 more points, totaling 27500 which means a return of 1.1x.

    • @KevinYang
      @KevinYang  ปีที่แล้ว

      2% is definitely the target you should be going for, and if straight cash back is all you really care about, then there are still much better combos to get!

    I have the trifecta with the Preferred. I was thinking about getting a hotel card to maximize my points as well as my overall travel experience when staying at hotels. Which hotel card would you recommend adding to the chase trifecta to enhance the hotel stay? I want to maximize the UR points, hotel status (upgrades, perks) when traveling. I don't really have a preferred hotel chain, but that can change depending on the best value I can get. I was thinking Amex Platinum for the Hilton and Marriott Gold Status which would also give more hotel choices between the 2 brands as well as the Marriott point transfer ability. (plus the airport lounge access would be nice too) The Amex Hilton Aspire was my other consideration for the Diamond status. I would love to hear some thoughts/suggestions. Why are chase points higher value than Amex points for you?

    • @KevinYang
      @KevinYang  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For most of the redemptions that I'm aiming to do, the two points overlap in terms of airlines, but only Chase has Hyatt which is a very valuable partner.
      Chase does have a higher "baseline" redemption of 1 cpp for cash back, but I mainly use points for transfer partner redemptions, so that point is irrelevant for my usecase!

    My only issue with Chase is that their travel portal and travel customer service is terrible. For the most part, this isn't an issue because it's generally not worth it to use it most of the time, but it can be a headache if it is something you might want to use at some point.
    I also like the Capital One Venture X card a little bit better than the Chase sapphire reserve--because it's a cheaper way to get things like lounge benefits, points are added to account faster (within a few days), and their travel portal works very smoothly. If chase can improve in these areas, it would be completely unbeatable.

    I think that the Citi trifecta beats the Chase trifecta in earnings, but Chase beats it in transfer partners, especially hotels, which I care more about than airlines. I also think that the CSP generally offers more value than the Premier with things like rental car coverage and purchase protection. Still, if you’re focused mainly on cash back, I think that Citi is actually a better setup, but if you care maximum value per point and ease of use when transferring to travel partners, I think that Chase has the edge. Personally, I think that the value of both setups are driven by their 5% category cards because of the outsized effect on total points for average spenders.
