I have a 23 FX/4 XLT LUX . Running 91 Octane E-Free gas and getting 25 around town 37 trip. Stock Pirelli tires and tonneau cover. Incredible truck. Good review. I believe the Tremor has softer spring rates hence the lower payload capacity when compared to the FX/4. The FX/4 package for 800 bucks is an absolute steal for all that it offers.
Impressive. I have a 24 Lariat FX4 with stock tires and factory tonneau cover and I'm lucky to get 22 mpg around town and 29 mpg on the highway. The ethanol free helps.
I got the fx4. I like it. Wish the start/stop button was a sport mode and have the ability to turn tration control completely off. Paddle shifters would be cool. Glove box could use a lock. But most of all, wish i didnt feel like it was selling me out to the insurance companies.
XLT LUX Tremor for me. I don’t need the towing as I have another vehicle that can handle a lot more. Also the reason for Tremor 2k towing vs 4k FX4 is the aggressive front approach angle the bumper doesn’t accommodate the large capacity radiator required for 4k towing. I needed the additional traction with 4WD Lock and rear twin clutch locking diff for snow and mud plus additional ground clearance
@@CTECH-REVIEW like you noticed it drives so good and tracks so well. It really came in handy when the snow hit us a few months back plus it’s my daily driver
Last week went to my local dealer for a black XLT AWD but they only had them in grey and light blue. The only black maverick they had was a fully loaded lariat tremor for an extra $3k compared to the XLT’s price… So I went with the tremor at $37k with the A plan down. It was too hard to pass up lol
I have a 2022 Lariat fx4, I love it. Wish I could've gotten the tremor with the 4WD with the locker vs the AWD. But I honestly like the interior of the non tremor, the plastic reminds me of 90s Tupperware, but my Lariat has the brown leather seats and bronze accents. I also like the exterior looks of the FX4 front, just because I don't need that great of an arrival/departure angle for the roads I'm on. I may lift the maverick 2 inches with a lift kit later, but for now I enjoy driving it stock, haven't came across anything in my daily life I couldn't overcome (I live in alaska)
At 9:00 it shows how Low it is! It's much like a Car when you look out the window and see you're actually lower than an SUV on your left, and practically level with the rear windows of a sedan sitting in front of you at the Traffic Light.
I saw the 4k tow package gets you a lower final drive ratio. I'd be curious to see the MPG difference between otherwise (reasonably) equal Mavericks with and without it. 🤔
I really appreciate that you touched on high torque with a low RPM on the engine. After watching several videos I don't think anyone explained the advantages a buyer or driver gains with it. The bad there is 5 mpg difference per gallon on highway between the two trucks. Another difference that you mentioned but did not emphasize is payload. The buyer loses several pounds of payload with the Tremor pkg. Another difference is you are limited to a 2000 lb tow pkg where the other trims are able to purchase a 4000lb tow package including an integrated trailer brakes 7pin. The FX4 has hill descent vs the Tremor having lockers and trail control. Only issues is without 4k tow forget using the tremor for recovery. The standard gear ratio is 3.63 and FWD 8.3 inch ground clearance. The AWD increases ground clearance to 8.6 inches because of changing the rear suspension to multi link independent rear suspension. The tremor package has a 1 inch lift you mentioned besides p235 but it has a 3.81 gear ratio and a 9.4 ground clearance. The AWD if you add 4k tow you get several upgrades which are on the tremor but you also change the gear ratio from from 3.63 to 3.81. Also you can upgrade the FX4 tires to P235 with different wheels that should increase ground clearance .25.5. So certain options can be added to the AWD or FX4 but if equipped correctly will offer more payload, more towing capabilities and more fuel economy than the tremor. The tremor offers a different ride but also has more roll feel. It gives you lockers and trail control again I emphasize you can not use these options to recover other vehicles out of a ditch or tow more than 2000lbs. I ordered a FX4 because of these differences. I would have liked the better approach angle, the lockers but couldn't lose the 4k towing, payload or the mileage which I would use far more often than options mentioned on the tremor.
@@CTECH-REVIEW thank you, I think they are great trucks. Not knocking the AWD system. Not having low range or 2 speed transfer case like a 4WD. The high torque at low RPM's compliment the AWD system in off road conditions and minimize the difference. Ford did a great job with this configuration. Thank you for the video.
Recovery is not towing. Of course, you can use a Tremor for recovery. 2k vs 4k is about suspension stability with a trailer at highway speeds. Recovery is about going less than 20mph for 10 feet.
That's not true. Max towing is exactly that, it's the maximum amount the vehicle should pull. To be more specific a 4000lb stuck vehicle because it's not rolling will require more to pull it out or more stress on frame, trans, engine than a rolling 4000lb trailer. One has pointed out the tremor package because of the front end change to increase the approach angle will not allow the high capacity radiator or the upgraded fan. This also is another reason not to go over max towing besides manufacturers written max towing guidelines
The difference between steering wheels is due to options other than the Tremor package. The difference in ride is due to the more compliant suspension in the Tremor package. Tie downs in the bed and on the tail gate aren't recovery points.
@@CTECH-REVIEW Yeah I liked how you structured this video and overall you did a good job, but there were several comments that were incorrect which may mislead people. If you don't know something, simply don't mention it instead of speculating. Thanks for the video.

Got the Lariat AWD with Off road and tow package love it. Lariat version seats and color combo just beautiful!! Fun lil truck.
Good choice!
Got the same vehicle 3 weeks ago as well. Absolutely nothing so far that I dislike about it.

My FX 4 came with the same tires as the Tremor you just have to pick the right options. Also you can not get the 4K tow package with a Tremor
congrats!! nice ride!
This is one of the best deals on a truck out there.

If you actually want to tow the FX4 is the way to go the tremor has only can tow 2000 towing limit as of the FX4 has 4000 towing limit
Great comment, thank you for watching!
Does the fx4 have locking rear differential?
Thanks for watching. Let me confirm!
No, only the Tremor has the locking diff.
Bought the Tremor, it does ride smoother.
awesome, good to hear!
21 mpg is awful.
50 mpg with the hybrid is why you would choose a Maverick.
I agree that is only engine I would chose in a Maverick as well.
Get your fact straight before making videos
