    I have a high step in indigo grey. The bike needed adjustments three times after it arrived, which my local bike shop did for me. Velotric refunded the costs of the repairs, but the bike was at the shop three times in the first eight days I owned it. It performs well and the bike is very fast, I emailed the company for instructions on how to unlock it while I watched this video. I think the price is right for what you get, but if I didn’t live near a bike shop I would have returned the bike during the first week due to the repairs that were needed.

      @@Murillos1 Front and rear brake adjustments, then front brake adjustments again, then the brakes had to be bled. The bike is running much better now though it needs one more tune up.

      @@bruceatwell6031 You would return it over that? You should know how to do that yourself by now if you’re an avid bike rider. Do you get your car oil changed at a shop too?

    This is a great bike for the money with dealer support. Unlocked it does 25 mph both throttle and pedal assist. The Nomad is a great bike to do some mods, change to street tires and add extra battery ($400) to double the range. with second battery in a rear rack bag you would have about 1.4 KW). Giving you a 25 mph long range transport for under $2000. It weighs about 70 lbs and 1200 watts of peak power on the motor)

    Great review. I know this is a newer brand of bike but it seems pretty well thought out. I've heard negatives about rear hub motors but I guess thats mainly coming frome people riding $3k+ e bikes.

    In CT, where I live, the state is now offering $500 rebates on certain UL certified ebikes (pretty cool!) I'm looking for at Fat Ebike in the $1k-2k price range and am considering the Velotric as well as the Denago and Aventon. I have tested the Denago and love the natural torque sensor feel. They are currently applying for UL cert.
    I've ridden some cadence sensors and some feel too much like an on/off switch in addition to ghost peddling and delayed response in the pedal assist, which is just no good for me. I've heard there are some cadence sensors out there that closely mimic torque sensors. Given you've tested both, how would you describe the response and feel of the Velotric cadence sensor compared to the Denago's torque sensor? Are they similar or night and day? Thanks!

    Would you gain enough efficiency from a thinner high pressure tire to justify buying a second set of wheels for longer range pavement trips? I'm a bigger guy so I think I need the 750 watt motor.

    • @EbikeEscape

      @VelotricEbike 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, Gail! That's a good question! Of course, you should be able to change the rear light in your Velotric Nomad 1 bike since the rear light is detached from the fender. Our Nomad tire is a CST brand, which is a step above in quality over the two brands you named.

    I've watched every video on this bike and no one talks about how SLOW it can go. Can I comfortably do 3 or 4 mph while holding my dog's leash? I do that every day on my nimble 20" ebike, but it doesn't like hills. I want to move up in size and power but not at the expense of being able to go slowly when I feel like it. Any thoughts?

    • @christopherkoure1938
      @christopherkoure1938 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've been watching TH-cam's videos on this bike and as I understand there are 5 levels of assist. If you're on level one and you mash that thumb throttle all the way down it will limit you to the slowest speed. You can of course let up on the thumb throttle and it will go slower. I don't know what the max speed is on level one. (Probably less than 7mph?) There is ask an owner on their web site.

    • @Tom-xn2gu
      @Tom-xn2gu 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@christopherkoure1938 The PAS ! level on the Nomad is pretty high - 8 mph. I've read the bike is like a race horse taking off from a dead stop and you can't adjust it to make it go slower out of the gate.. Bummer. It would be my top pick otherwise.

    • @lyleelliott7036

      It might have a "Walk" mode. (2 to 4 mph) If so, that should be well within your pups comfort zone.

    • @vigilant_1934
      @vigilant_1934 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Tom-xn2gu That's not high at all. It's pretty standard to get up to 10mph on the first assist level from the ebikes I've seen tested on this channel and others. 3 to 4 mph is very slow and you don't need assist to do that so it's not something to expect an ebike to do. At such a low speed bikes tend to get wobbly. This bike was made to have speed and power for hills and sand and snow. It's not supposed to be a slow bike at all so you shouldn't expect someone reviewing it to talk about how slow it is since that's normally a bad thing especially in traffic.

    The classes 1, 2, 3 are ridicules. And Velotric to hide the programming is stupid. Speed and peddles should be the factors to be considered a bicycle, not motor power or whether there is a throttle or not.

      It's called laws. Velotric wants to remain legal and compliant with the federally recognized e-bike classes in the US. They don't want to seem like their encouraging breaking the e-bike regulations in your state. Europe has a different system and their bikes cannot go as fast as in the US (25 kmh or 15 mph is the speed limit of motor assist there). Maybe you're in Asia or somewhere else with a different system. I live in a state where only class 1 and class 2 are recognized while class 3 isn't which means a class 3 e-bike here counts as a motor bike and requires a license.
