It's a fantastic celebrating song for every kind of occasion. Wedding/school graduation.... In public, for business (money making) or in political context of course just you have to get the permission of the band before.

One of the importaint things About the Song is, that it was Released before the Football european Championship in 2012. It has summed up so many feelings of that time and become a Great Football anthem in germany. Especially After winning the World Cup in 2014!!!
I associate this Song With so many beautiful Moments Form that time.

Today I received my tickets to see them live next year during their 40 yr anniversary tour.
Huge fan of Toten Hosen for many years now, and yes it started out with "Tage wie diesel" ...
They are huge in Germany, mostly doin stadiumshows and big festivals.

Correct! Both of the big parties used the song without permission of the band!
Even the german soccer team or the crew who made the big party for winning wc 2014 wanted to use. But the Toten Hosen said no...
Big party song but respect who they are and what they stand for!

I love this band, I really do. But I can't get warm with this song. It's okay, I tried to like it when it came out, but it's overrated (okay, and maybe I once made a video with this song and listened to it 5 hours straight while editing and that kinda cemented my dislike)
It's bitter that this became their greatest hit of all time when there are songs like 1000 Gute Gründe, Europa, Pushed Again oder Gegenwind der Zeit in their repertoire.
Gegenwind der Zeit is a song they released as b-side on a single and it's once again political and against nazis, and also one of the best songs they released in years. I heard it first on yt when someone recorded their unannounced gig on a anti pegida demo, shortly before it came out. When I realized it wasn't even on their new album I was pretty pissed :D but that album has pop&politik on it which is also great, if not as good.
