    I own one and love it. On a 1600 mile trip I averaged 73 mpg. I cruise effortlessly at 75 mph, scooter Bill in Paris Arkansas.

      And the lights are way better than earlier models ....in fact they are brighter and a wider beam to illuminate all the road !!!! Just adjust them up slightly from factory settings like my dealer did !!!

    Beautify machine ! I picked up a Navi about 6-7 weeks ago and it’s serving it’s purpose but def limited . This Xmax is a full purpose commuter

    I was lucky enough to snag a '22 brand new for $5,950 out the door! Great bike. Sometimes I do miss shifting, but this a very good machine.

    Its a overall great balance of everything...the used ones are being sold at about the same price if not more which is crazy. The 2021 was being sold in iconic blue which i like..gray is ok. Yo dan do the headlights stay on? Yup ...do all the maintenence yourself! Good review scooterman dan.

      Thanks my friend!! To answer your question yes the led headlight do stay on and there bright. I’m in the process of doing a short video of riding in the dark.

      @@slowridersmotovlog201Surprised to hear that. I have a 2019 model and the lights are very disappointing at night. They are dimmer than halogen bulbs on cars, especially the high beam is almost useless.

      Let me tell you this...the 2023 headlights are way way way way better than previous years. I couldn't be more happy with their strength. Totally different than years before. The dealer adjusted mine up at dealership before I brought it home and those LEDs are bright and has a very wide stance unlike previous models that only had a narrow beam !!!! Wait till you see the difference !!!!

      Had a reflex a few years back. Rode it all the way to kew west. Great scooter but not as comfortable as the Xmax or as fast.

    Nice review. You haven’t commented about the suspension which other scooters seem to suffer from adjustability wise.

      The suspension is amazing!! I suffer from not the greatest back and never in any pain when I ride and after.

      @@slowridersmotovlog201 Just bought the bike and the rear shocks are very stiff, even at the lowest setting. Using an air cushion for now, but will look into YSS shocks. Also the factory tires are not the best. Back killer, those rear shocks. Some may find it ok, but that all depends on weight of rider, etc.

      I lived in nyc and just about everybody is riding a motorcycle or a baby scooters but not a maxi scooters like the Yamaha scooters.

      I got the 2023 Yamaha Xmax 300 and believe me it is well worth its price, much more than my friends AK 550 ....Xmax goes 90 mph yet at 70mph gets 75 mph ....my friends AK can't even get near that gas mileage .....I have MORE STORAGE UNDER MY SEAT THAN THE AK 550 ......Xmax is smoother as well ....this is time to buy they ate going for $5694 in Dallas,TX. When 24's c9me in they will be 3,000 more .....think about it get year end savings like I did !!!!

    What was the recommended "break in" period and how did it restrict how, when, where you were able to ride. I have a 45-mile commute to work and am interested in this scooter.

    My 3 possible are the x max, the adv 160 and the zuma , i really do like the x but it is definitely a bigger commitment financially

    Questions for you please, Does it have an engine temperature indicator and oil pressure indicator? Also, how much vibration in hand grips, foot rests, seat at low and higher speeds ?

      No on the vibration at higher speeds. And no on the engine and temperature

    How many miles do you have on it? Did you do have Yamaha do the first service while still under warranty?

      They did the first 600 mile I did the next 600 hundred just so I knew I could do it myself. I’m at like 1300 hundred miles. They charge 105 to do a simple oil change crazy!!

      @@slowridersmotovlog201 yes, but I always want the first service done on any of my Yamahas by a dealer. After that, I do them. Mines in right now, they are doing the final drive oil as well as engine oil. 600 mile (1000km) first service.

    The passenger seat is the best thing about this bike! What do you mean not safe😂 the rear shocks are pretty bad and really need changing ,the back passenger suffers from rear shocks in broken city roads… scooter can travel all day around 80-85 , burns little fuel and seat is as comfortable as any good bike, also the tank is big enough for long trips.

    The passing light is more for the Euro market where thats more acceptable and slower traffic gives way to faster traffic.
    Its seems here in USA if you flash your headlights at car in front, YOU are a jerk/agressive driver for wanting to pass.

    Honestly i have two options and is a hard decision. 2023 Suzuki Burgman or 2023 yamaha xmax 🤔

      Burgman 200 or 400 . I’ve ridden the burgman 400 it’s definitely a beefy bike. It’s a tough decision I’m sure.

      ​@jarlinarez get the burgman... it's way roomier and much more comfortable. Also you feel more planted. You really get the shit kicked out of you on the freeways and anything over 45mph on the xmax. I have a 2023 that I ride everyday pretty much every where

      For the price you have to pay the 2023 Xmax is much more better ....I just payed $6299 out the door and burg 400 was pushing 9 K .......it's not worth it......only goes 5 mph faster but gets only 50 mpg

      @user-tv8ut5mr4l idk, in my area the xmax was 8k out the door with the burg being 8500 out the door... plus it's just a bigger bike overall so it's going to be more steady on the highway. the xmax is supper sketch above 69mph. the front end dances all over the place.

    First thing i do with any new machines, generators,cars, or anything, is to buy all replacement parts i can get up front, multiples, spark plugs, light bulbs, air filters, oil, even belts andcextra pulleys, any wear an tear, or even high failure parts on engine, especially with how precarious the situation is with china threatening go into Taiwan!!
