AWesome motor. I can attest to that big smile. After growing up on jon boats, then getting bigger side consoles I recently decided to build a 16ft light tiller. with a new 25 and its more enjoyable to drive and operate.
Congratulations on the new outboard . I went from a 4hp to a 15 two stroke.big improvement . After watching your video I'm looking at a 25 4stroke on my 13 ft whaler
Your smile is contagious. I'm currently searching for a 14-16 mod v flat bottom and going to put a 25 or 30 on it. I can't wait for my own break in period!
And this is so cool. I found this channel and I've watched the metal detecting channel for years, but have been looking at boats lately and I was like WTF!?!? Awesome man!!!!!
When I was a young teenager, from actually 12-17, I had my own 14’ flat bottomed Point Judith Skiff, built out of oak keel, ribs, runners and gunnels. With marine grade 7 ply plywood, with glue and boron screws all by hand my wonderful Dad brought for our summers on Great Island. That was powered with a long shaft Evenrude 18 hp. That was absolutely plenty for the 80-90 lbs me and couple friends. That little boat would easily run at 30 mph on plane with just me and one buddy sitting in the second seat back, with me at the tiller sitting on a low bucket in the center rear.
CONGRATS ON THE NEW MOTOR Kurt! Hope you enjoy it and that it is good to you! I had a friend that worked for Suzuki back in the 1990’s. It was mostly motorcycle then. He always thought that Suzuki was a pretty good product. Enjoy and I will be watching.
I bought a 25 horsepower Suzuki 7 years ago. All manual like yours. Fuel injected four stroke. It’s an awesome outboard motor. Sips gas. Pushes my heavy 15 foot Xpress jonboat 24 mph
I have a 15 hp Suzuki on my 11.5 RIB. I love it .what a great motor. The maintenance light went off the other day I serviced it early and didn’t know about the light it was blinking and I thought something was wrong with it even though it had oil and wasn’t overheating. I checked on TH-cam and found out how to reset it. My 15 hp is the same motor as yours but with a different ignition module and a restrictor plate. I won’t upgrade it I really like the fuel economy and it is fast enough 😊 congrats on your new motor . Mine is white also😊
Great video! I hit 25 once on our 11.5ft 160lb RIB with our 2017 Suzuki 20. Ended up with 3 different size props, 8, 10, 12. Use the 8 pitch when there's a lot a weight. I made a video of ours (episode 14) if you care to watch. Unfortunately block is now cracked and teardown video may be next. We may have bought it with a small crack without knowing as it did overheat in the beginning. Hope you have many good years with yours!
Have a Suzuki DF140 on my 18 foot center console. It hits 47 at full throttle. Motor has never let me down It as 800 hours on it.. Make sure to apply fogging oil for winter storage. Use Stabil or run the carb dry before storage. Happy Fishing.
I enjoyed breaking in my new Suzuki 140 that i installed on my old 97 Mako last year. Its like a new boat, so i can identify with your excitement! I want to get me a little skiff like yours for the bayou and river, it will have a little Suzuki on it. They're awesome motors!
Way to go Kurt, I've never been crabing but have spent many hours on the water, in a row boat with a 5hp motor. Must be fun having those extra horse's to play with. Enjoy and be safe and God Bless all those female crabs.(Have lots of Babies)
Put a Stingray fin on the cavitation plate and you won’t believe how it will stabilize the nose and keep the nose flat adding greatly to the safety of the boat. I run one on a 25 hp on a 12 ft. Tracker Deep V at 27 mph. Jumps flat out of the hole and flattens the ride.
Hell yea brother. I was wondering why i wasnt getting any updates from ya and the bell was not clicked. Sucked on my end. So now its time to binge watch and catch back up 😂😂😂. Anywho keep up the great content. Much love to ya brother from Maryland❤❤❤.
Important to point out that this motor has batteryless fuel injection. Bulletproof and starts every time after long periods of no use. I've had mine for 5 years in saltwater. Best outboard I've ever owned.
My Dad had a 16 ft Alumaweld with a Johnson 20 or 25. Can't remember exactly. My brothers and I learned to waterski off that thing. Ir's time to buy some pull toys for the family! Blessings.
25 is MOVIN' on a john boat. My 1976 9.8 Mercury Thunderbolt (they were under-rated until the dyno rules changed in '84) takes my 11ft flat bottom (modified -v) to 21-22 on GPS, I'm actually glad that it's not any faster because I'd hate to flip it on a rough day
I had an older suzuki 15 (somebody stole it), I made a test run with it in a aluminum cartopper boat. I couldn't get past half throttle, thing was a monster.
Some of these small outboards are almost bullet proof & 20HP used to be a size limit in the S.Louisiana swamps/marshes, I'm talking about the State and/or Federal Parks areas so you can get a ticket. Back in the 80's we had a 25HP Mariner & turns out an Engine Man got us a 20HP Case Lid & replaced it on our 25HP motor. We might have never known & I don't know if that is still done but my dad did that back in the day. I've never broke in an outboard motor. peace
Man ! 25mph in a flat botton jonboat is hauling azz ! Since my bayliner debacle , I have been thinking about a jonboat! You are nudging me in that direction! Enjoy the blue crabs !
ive got those same costas. 2nd pair. my first pair of tiger sharks had the black glass lenses, they were sick. unable to get replacements in the same black and had to switch to blue / green. in FL i don't leave home without em ever. i wore $10.00 glasses my whole life until a friend gifted me my first pair of costas for doing a 1 day remodel at his house, too good a friend to charge, he wasn't having it and handed me the pair brand new he bought for himself. i now "get" premium sunglasses. when you spend 50+ hrs a week wearing them it starts to matter. i dont think ill be sticking with costa tho, my last pair was almost 300 before purchasing the warranty. then another 100 for replacement glass lenses when they crack. and when i used the warranty there is a co-pay like with car insurance. i think it was 80 or something like that. so glasses 280+warranty and eventual claim 180 + a pair of lenses because its going to happen = over 500 on a pair of glasses. they're great, that's why i paid it...but they're has got to be a cheaper premium company.
Awesome video, you have inspired me to deck out my jon boat and finally get an outboard for it. How's the PVC casting deck working out for you? I noticed in literally all of the jon boat build videos on TH-cam, no one uses PVC for decking - they all use resin-coated plywood or aluminum - and I don't know why... it seems like PVC the obvious solution, over wood at least.
Yamaha was THE brand when I was growing up. All the lobstermen in Maine who had outboards used them, along with anyone who counted on motor reliability for their safety. Now it seems like it’s a two horse race with Suzuki.
Not that you need it, But you could probably re-Prop and get more speed. What you have now seems more than adequate, and it not stressing the drive train. Should be a long life of happiness the way it is.
It’s my understanding that Tohatsu makes all the current outboards 20hp and lower. So Yamaha, mercury etc should all have the same parts. They are all just rebranded Tohatsu.
Quick question buddy where did u get them crab pots and such u were using??? Because i want to start doing the same and just dont know which ones i would want. I do have to say i love ur set up
Put a Sting Ray Jr. on the engine and you will be surprised of the changes. Hops up on plane, raises the transom running, and flattens wake. I run a 25 Yamaha on a 12 ft Tracker V-bottom. 26 mph and stable as can be. Keeps the nose down in the wind, prevents bow walking, greatly increases stability for safety. You might also put on a stainless steel prop.
How to pick. th-cam.com/video/2s3S745m1AA/w-d-xo.html Save the encrusted seasoning top shell, retain the mustard if desired. Occasionally dip a morsel into apple cider vinegar then touch the encrusted seasoning for a blend of flavors. Remember to squeeze the meat out of the small legs. Enjoy!
If you PAY MORE MONEY you get more privilege, to keep whatever crabs ! And since when did anything a politician did/says make any sense. We all have a god-given right to recreational fish for food fun therapy and yet people who call themselves politicians charge us a fee/license to go fish.
I have to tell you Bud, watching your video put the biggest smile on my face. Thanks for that
Fantastic! The joy of a small boat slapping the water with a hand controlled outboard that sings. Fun stuff. Thanks for posting.
and ya get a tan at the same time no thanks give me glass
AWesome motor. I can attest to that big smile. After growing up on jon boats, then getting bigger side consoles I recently decided to build a 16ft light tiller. with a new 25 and its more enjoyable to drive and operate.

Guy you made my day. I was. In a bad mood and watching you with your new motor and crabing. Was so m7ch fun to watch nice j9b
Looks like lots of fun. It proves that you don't have to spend tons of money to get out on the water and have a blast.
Your smile is contagious. I'm currently searching for a 14-16 mod v flat bottom and going to put a 25 or 30 on it. I can't wait for my own break in period!

Can’t wait to see the new motor in the next video! Hopefully calmer water. Congratulations on your new purchase! God Bless
That set up will last forever, looks and sounds great.
Motor looks and runs great. The price tag looked well worth it too. And yes, you can get out of bad weather much quicker. Game changer.
Just seeing this. Awesome video. Suzuki is a good motor. Crabs looked delicious!!! Stay safe!
I'm looking for a new outboard for my John boat and wanting a similar one you got. Thanks for sharing this with us!😄🫂❤️🔥
Such a nice feeling when you upgrade gear, figuring out my new motor right now

I think I almost had as much fun as you did. I couldn't stop laughing at the smile on your face!!

I have a Suzuki 20/4 also. Love it!
Had fun watching you have so much fun :) Thanks.

Motor is awesome and the crabs look amazing thank you so very much for sharing 👍👍❤️
Broke in the new outboard plus, BONUS!!😮😮😮 Brewski and Blue Crabs!!!...Awesome!
Important to point out that this motor has batteryless fuel injection. Bulletproof and starts every time after long periods of no use. I've had mine for 5 years in saltwater. Best outboard I've ever owned.

Really liking your videos. Especially with "daddy"...hope to bump into you in NJ this fall.
I ride a 16hp Honda outboard, I gotta say she’s also a beauty

Congratulations Kurt she's pretty DP Pawtucket Rhode Island
Great to see ur happy face😊

Do it……I have 16 aluminum with a 30 on it. Best thing I ever did. They get you out and they are cheap to keep,
You're making me want to hang on to my dream.❤
I have a 30 in "Cool White" going on my 16 V hull.👍
Ive got a 1980 1436, I'm looking at some 77-93 Evinrude/Johnson 15s
I crab blue crab down here in south Louisiana i caught a few heavy big ones in my troll the other day while i was shrimping
I got the 25/4 power tilt & start

Need to get lanyard for your cap, so not having to chase it down as it blows across the water.
Your boat looks just like my 1977 monark
Curious the speed when you find the optimum trim level for thay boat
It’s my understanding that Tohatsu makes all the current outboards 20hp and lower. So Yamaha, mercury etc should all have the same parts. They are all just rebranded Tohatsu.
I have a 50 Suzuki on a 16 foot Bass Tracker. With a 17 pitch prop i can hit 38 mph. Plenty when you are sitting 10inches off the water. 18:09
Think you made the old man Nervous with that motor. Lol😊
Can I ask you where you get those orange buckets?
Quick question buddy where did u get them crab pots and such u were using??? Because i want to start doing the same and just dont know which ones i would want. I do have to say i love ur set up

To me it's all ways about the crabs....... LOL😁🦀🦀🦀🦀
Hello 25 knot or km ?
Now is that boat holding up to the salt water?
Great information thank you. Bassmd
Scary fast 20 horse outboard lol 😆 4 strokes are heavy and slow
You shop guy ,what's that rattling
Enjoyed the video, but I had a 115hp mercury on a phantam speed boat. You don't know what fast is.
Not very fast 😂
Best entertainment with Suzuki 4stroke 20hp...😂
👍
I like youre snakehead fishing videos
Them crabs you threw back right next to your trap probably going right back to your trap
All by myself having a blast
My two stroke Johnson 9.9 Hp gos 20 or mph
You break them in fast; you can run them fast.
And now I'm hungry and it's to early for lunch
Is that a Mexican Suzuki or japonese ?
Hi Kurt, congrats on the new motor! Do you mind telling where you bought it?
Love Americans fun people❤❤❤😂
I caught crabs in Chiraq
great video , dude
I get 18 mph on my 9.9 Suzuki
9.9 and 20hp suzuki is the same motor..a few minor adjustments and it's a 20hp
Too bad Kawasaki don't make z outboard motors 38 hp lol

When you read 20hp and scary fast, you know this is a "do not recommend channel" channel. I am sad they took blocking channels away.
No oil in it ??????? Unacceptable !!!
Steamed crabs, Natty Bo and an O's shirt. You are full on Baltimore.
Worse outboard I ever bought, Suzuki 6 hp. 4 stroke. It's now my 2nd anchor. Thats all it's good for.
Commercial fisherman can keep the females, but not recreational..... seems like the government knows what's best as usual
BS warm up Outboard and put a load on it and Rev it up.!!!
When the crabs start that “identity problem” BS you know we have a HUGE problem 😂!! TRUMP - VANCE 2024 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸✊🏼✊🏼✊🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Great video, New Sub
