honoree to best embody the abolitionist commitment to social change. This and other accolades, recognise his work surrounding immigration reform, disability inclusivity, and police brutality. Currently the Resident Scholar of the Valley Ranch Islamic Center, Suleiman works to educate regarding Islamic values which may be used in the pursuit of liberation.

أَوْلِيَآءَ ۘ means “allies, protectors, defenders” in this context, not friends.
The evidence is that Allah says “(Lawful to you in marriage) are chaste women from the believers and chaste women from those who were given the Scripture (Jews and Christians)” (The Noble Quran 5:5) and also ““And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquillity in them; and He placed between you affection and mercy.” (The Noble Quran 30:21)
So it is not permissible to take Jews or Christian nations as protectors or allies, but it is permissible to have affection or love for individual Jews or Christians.

Sheikh Omar Suleiman never fails to amaze me. A man that isn't afraid to speak about the truth regardless of his audience. His speech is clear and he states every word with confidence.

Understood and recognised? As in submitted to eventually, right? Have this thoughtful sounding, seemingly equitable, sugarcoated version of Islam delivered to you, develop a sense of trust in it, think it's real and actually applied, develop some more trust, and either drift off because you've had your flirtation or hang around and be snared. Bit by bit the illusion will recede and the reality will emerge. What do understand now?

Islamophobia has resulted in a situation in which Muslims are persecuted, even if they are the ones confronted with subjectivity. This has occurred in Myanmar, where for the past 40 years, all military and civilian governments have repeatedly urged Muslims to flee their homelands. Bangladesh has been sheltering refugees for almost 40 years, yet the issue is not given the political prominence it deserves, and the Myanmar government literally promotes viciousness without hesitation. To some extent, the same holds true for the dispute between Israel and Palestine, Syria, and Yemen.
Yet, Muslims continue relegate non-Muslims to second class citizenship, subject them to Islam and persecute them with impunity in Muslim-majority countries.
You can tell that this speech is going to age so well. A few decades from now, people are gonna remember this as one of the moments in the early twenty-first century that changed profoundly how Islam is viewed in the West, causing a significant positive ripple effect, bi idnillah

Wonderful. A challenge to the (academic) listener to look beyond stereotypes, learn and ponder.
Recommendation for change in US economic system:
1. There is no electricity bill in Libya; electricity is free for all its citizens.
2. There is no interest on loans, banks in Libya are state-owned and loans given to all its citizens at 0% interest by law.
3. Housing is considered a human right in Libya - Gaddafi vowed that his parents would not get a house until everyone in Libya had a home. Gaddafi’s father died while him, his wife and his mother were still living in a tent.
4. All newlyweds in Libya receive $60,000 Dinar (US$50,000) by the government to buy their first apartment so to help start up the family.
5. Education and medical treatments are free in Libya. Before Gaddafi only 25% of Libyans were literate. Today the figure is 83%.
6. Should Libyans want to take up farming careers, they would receive farming land, a farming house, equipments, seeds and livestock to kick-start their farms - all for free.
7. If Libyans cannot find the education or medical facilities they need in Libya, the government funds them to go abroad for it - not only free, but they also get US$2,300/month for accommodation and car allowance.
8. If a Libyan buys a new car from Libya, the government subsidized 50% of the price.
9. The price of petrol in Libya is only $0.14 per liter.
10. Libya has no external debt and its reserves amount to $150 billion - now frozen globally.
11. If a Libyan is unable to get employment after graduation, the state would pay the average salary of the profession as if he or she is employed, until employment is found.
12. A portion of Libyan oil sale is credited directly to the bank accounts of all Libyan citizens.
13. A mother who gives birth to a child receives US$5,000 ;
14. 40 loaves of bread in Libya costs only $0.15 ;
15. 25% of Libyans have a University degree;
16. Gaddafi carried out the world’s largest irrigation project, known as the Great Man-Made River project, to make water readily available throughout the desert country. The water is free of charge.
Prior to the international sanction placed on Gaddafi & Libya in the 1980s, the country was one of the richest in the world by GDP per capita - with a living standard higher than Japan. It was the richest in Africa before the revolution.
The living standard - GDP per capita is $11,314 for Libya. One cannot claim the Libyans are poor if they live better than many of the Western citizens. Gaddafi always looked after the average Libyan.
A country’s wealth used to depend on how much gold it had in the treasury, not how many dollars it traded. Libya also has 144 tons of gold. The UK, for example, has twice as much, but ten times the population.
“If Gaddafi had intent to try to re-price his oil or whatever else the country was selling on the global market and accepts something else as a currency or maybe launches a gold dinar currency. Any move such as that would certainly not be welcomed by the power elite today, who are responsible for controlling the world’s central banks,” says Anthony Wile, founder and chief editor of the Daily Bell.
17. Under Gaddafi’s oil-revenue-sharing program, each Libyan gets $500 (DOLLARS) dumped into his or her bank account, each month.
18. Women in Libya have equal rights, not only as a philosophy, but also in practice.
19. Libyans have a direct participatory democracy based on People’s Conferences that puts other “democracies” to shame.

If you have an open heart it is clear that Quran is an affirmation for the pervious holy books and give recognition to all prophets before prophet Mohammed (s.a.w.)
The quran denies the very nature of who Jesus claimed to be. That's not an affirmation of the bible, or of the old testament prophets that point toward Jesus.
