Who here has stopped watching movies & listening to music (most of which have haram material in them anyway) because you are now addicted to watching any and ALL beneficial Islamic lectures!!?🤔😇 I know I've done a complete 180 degrees turn around.

Omar's public speaking skills are on another level. The way he uses silence, the way he articulates his points and expresses strong feelings without shouting, the way he is in charge of the room as soon as he starts speaking, it's a sight to behold. May Allah increase him in knowledge and make him a better guide for the rest of us less informed about our Deen, and may Allah also reward those choosing to spend their time to listen to these long uncut discussions only out of their love for Allah and drive to pursue beneficial knowledge

I have no knowledge about the scholar on the left but the other two are equally respectable (Omer being my close second after Mufti Menk) and have a very neutral opinion of Islam which I believe is what Islam is all about. One thing is people should not confuse Religion with Social values. Social and community values may have religious implications but they are not absolute.

It’s funny to me why so many people attack Islam in a way that they don’t to other religions this goes to show that how in genuine people like you are
You watch an Islamic video you start contemplating you start wondering if this is the truth then when you reach that point you come on here so you can free yourself from these thoughts
This just shows me how much Islam actually is the truth and is rational because trust me anything unrational people don’t attack but when it’s rational people do

During this Ramadhan, I've been watching more and more of these Islamic talks and I relate so much to all speakers. Growing up in a muslim community, didn't really helped me a lot because as teens going to adulthood I questioned a lot bout my religion but sadly like Omar said, we always get superficial answers from our elders. It just didn't felt right and I went astray for almost a decade. Insha Allah, now I'm in my mid 20s I'm happy to learn and coming back to Allah. I pray and hope that everyone who is on the same boat as I do, take your time to learn Islam and now there's better information and knowledge bout Islam than it was ever before. :)

But why does Allah discriminate just based on faith for eternal happiness when we don’t like it for ourselves by the powerful? I am raised Hindu married a Muslim. I don’t see any difference in the values I was raised with than of my husband. I or my parents are as good or as bad as any other normal Muslim. Why do they get hell forever vs somebody like osama bin laden only serves a term and gets heaven eventually because of his faith

@@kripamohamed Actually, Allah said eventually all will enter heaven. Even the worst of man like Pharaoh, will eventually enter heaven, after he received punishment for his actions in hell. we Muslims are not 100% guaranteed to go to heaven just because we're born muslims. Our actions define what would become of us in the Hereafter :) None of us are all that good because we're human.

@@kripamohamed well if based on your understanding, then every religion has discrimination towards non believers, yes? is it wrong based on our human moral standards or is it wrong based on God's decree?
There's a story regarding Prophet Muhd pbuh's Uncle, Abu Talib. He was a good man, great leader and always treats people with just. He took great care of Prophet Muhd pbuh since he was young, loved him like his own son. But sadly, he never accepted Islam till his last breath. His heart had never accepted Islam nor accepted Allah, he was sent to hell.
is it not considered fair if a non believer receive their punishment for believing other so called 'gods' instead of just One God? then if even they do good in this life, why should they receive special treatment to enter the heavens but not accepting His words in the Quran? Is it wrong for a muslim to receive punishment even though he is muslim buy commit horrible acts that's against Islam? there's always a balance in everything.

      1. So Islam is no special compared to any other man made religion. Divine decree doesn’t make a difference between what is man made and what is ordained by God. Each one just claim theirs is right which in turn means someone else is wrong!
      2. What does God want - recognition from us or righteousness on earth? Which is priority? You might say he needs nothing it’s us who need him. Yes I agree - but then why judge us about everything we do, eat and marry?
      3. If humans are judged why are not animals? They function just as us?
I have no problem with the all pervasive God - I have a problem with calling one right and another wrong.

Nouman Ali Khan brought out a good point. Why do we have to be Muslim plus? Why can’t we believe in Allah and all work towards the same Ummah? There should be no I’m Sunni and I’m better or I’m Shia and I’m better....no we are Muslim and we all take the same Shahada. We all follow the same theology. Stop the I was born Muslim and you converted so I’m a real Muslim and you are not. Allah would not approve of the fighting amongst us. He did not bring us all to him for this nonsense to occur. I love this talk and I felt it was so necessary. Alhamdulillah.

As salaamu alaikum. I would advise you to not pay so much attention to how someone makes you "feel" but whether their knowledge is authentic and accurate, and whether they represent what they claim to represent. As Muslims, we want to avoid the behavior of the Christians who say "this speaker has the truth because he makes me feel good". We worship based on authentic knowledge, and the men you've mentioned have an unfortunate track record of intentionally mixing truth with falsehood (while sounding "nice"). Baarak Allaahu feek.

I feel we sometimes forget that the precautions and guidelines that our religion teaches us aren't to deprive us, rather they are to ensure that the outcome of our decisions are nothing but the best for us. A lot of the times we feel Islam is too restricting for no apparent reason and we're hesitant to completely follow it because we feel we're going to miss out on things others are doing that seem completely okay and normal. I really liked what Mr. Suleiman said about meaningful relationships and how these rules that govern how we interact with the opposite gender are there so that we can maintain a certain level-headed rational thought process in our interactions, which is what comes in handy when it actually comes time to choose a spouse. Hanging out with friends of the opposite gender and having frivolous conversations actually distorts our perception of what real happiness and meaningful relationships are, and then when it's time for marriage we end up basing our decision on very shallow, meaningless criteria and experiences. Unfortunately when the majority of these relationships don't work out we are the ones left hurt. At the end of the day we forget that the one who has made these rules for us is Allah himself and that he knows EVERYTHING that ever came into existence including us, he is only looking out for us so why is it that at times like this we feel we know better?

This chilled out debate shows the patience and brotherly relationship between these speakers. Islam brings everyone together no matter what differences.

I follow the Jafferi school of thought and this is why I have so much respect for Nouman Ali Khan. I constantly come across people online spreading lies about what I believe in or what I do, like they're intentionally trying to create diversity, but Nouman wants to focus on unity and the good that we can do together. That's why I like to listen to his khutbahs regularly, because of his positivity.

My first introduction to Islam was by the Turkish group that follows Fethullah Gülen. My son's father was very into the Hizmet group. Nice people but Kind of nationalistic. I just didn't fit in with them. But I can't really say anything bad about them. Allah knows best. But they just weren't for me. I still have some Said Nursi books in my library I enjoy reading. I make it a rule not to belong to any group. I hate labels. I take the good from the good and leave the bad with the bad. Use common sense. And ask Allah to guide you.

Shannon saymaz . Was this Turkish into Sufism? By the way Sufism is deviation from Islam, beware about this. I myself not label to any Madhab but I just call myself Muslim and I follow the Quran and Sunnah. Easy pisy.

Take the good from the good and leave the bad with the bad, I love it. But it’s possible what you may see as bad could be our bias. Acknowledge the truth and don’t label the ideologies as good or bad. In removing the label from yourself don’t begin to label the actions defining you. Find the truth, accept it, and leave the rest. The truth is the good and the rest is fallacy. Blessings to all.

Yes i agree with you, i was also acquainted with these people. They are good people and have good advocacy actually. Just that they emphasize more on Said Nursi books, and Fethullah Gülen, and not Qur'an and other islamic books . So i was confused when i was with them. But many books help me to explore about islam and my practices.

What a great comment section in a debate on topics of Islam! People here aren't viciously arguing their opinions and flaming others. Great attitude inspired by the debate.

The part about asking knowledgeable people is sad sometimes even in Arab Muslim countries, you can’t ask questions even if you don’t know. Because it will make you look stupid and ignorant, and you’ll embarrass yourself, others would laugh at you in school, or at least give you that mocking stare, you were born a Muslim, you should know these things by default. But anyways, you grow to learn that is ok, not everybody knows everything, keep learning asking the good people you trust and read many books on the different topics of Islam. And you’ll find guidance inshallah.

Much needed discussion. SubhanAllah, the impact he's making on hearts and minds is truly profound. It's evident that his work is a labor of love for the sake of Allah. May the Almighty shower him with His mercy, protect him from any adversities, and grant him continued success in spreading the beauty of Islam.

The first discussion reminds me of when I last entered Jordan for a lengthier stay. I was immediately informed about who was this group and who was that group. In other words who to stay away from or be careful with. This is awful! It was very difficult to take those preconceived notions out of my head when I dealt with different sisters. I did my best though and still feel there is always good in everyone and it does us no harm to hear other opinions as long as, and as our sheiyukh said, your own understanding and relationship with the Qur'an is strong and stable.

New Muslims are lucky enough not to spend their time and energy into finding out the differences within the community rather they have just the deen, the Quran and the life of our prophet Mohammed peace be upon him to learn about.
