It's fair to say that all of us who grew up with Double Dare as kids wanted to go on that obstacle course. Double Dare was the greatest Nickelodeon game show, next to Nick Arcade, Guts, Figure it Out, and Legends of the Hidden Temple.
I do remember watching these game shows on Nickelodeon. I like to add to the list What Would You Do? and Get The Picture! What great memories to think about about at all!
I desperately wanted to be on Double Dare as a kid. I loved Finders Keepers too! If you haven’t yet, please do a video about the glory that was Nick Arcade! Thanks for all your great content, cheers!
I was also born in November 1984. / that’s sad the Hollywood East ( moved out of Florida in mid 1990’s or so ) , where they produced TV shows , some movies in central Florida area. )
Double Dare started in the 80's, ran through the 90's. That's why I remember it. I must've seen it in the 90's. There was another Double Dare show called Family Double Dare but I believe that iteration was purely in the 90's, I wouldn't know.
If I used to watch 20 to 30,000 commercials as a child on television I wonder to myself how many commercials I'm subjected to on the internet as an adult on a weekly basis.
Double Dare and Finders Keepers were two shows I wished I could be on. I actually won an audition at Nickelodeon Studios when I was eight, but I was too young for any of their shows. I have zero memory of the others.
I loved watching "Double Dare" Marc Summers was a great fun made you feel a part of the audience watching from home. I always wanted to go on the show not to win prizes but for the opportunity to get slimed 😂😂😂😂😂
I think at some point these must have aired on regular TV because my family didn't have anything but a roof antenna until the 90s and I definitely watched some of them.
I remember every one of these games except Total Panic. When you mentioned it aired on Sunday mornings that’s why I didn’t remember it. I was either in church or rebelling and skipping church by staying in bed thus I missed out completely on that game show. 🤷🏼♀️
😊😊😊i remember finders keepers and family double dare remember seeing it on Nickelodeon I was 7 in 1991 and you can't do that on television too and think fast as well
(Edited - I had to write quite a bit about this...this was an integral part of my early development.) If Alex Trabec (Resting In Peace) had given you the catagory "Entolyfik's Personal Nostalgia," and the answer to it's question was "What is THIS episode," then you also would've found "The Daily Double!" I really hope that you could possibly consider covering more Nickelodeon/Disney content...in the future, Mr. McFly (lol). This channel (Nick) was one of the biggest parts of my early life, which continued on into early adulthood. 1) I remember EVERY one of these shows, except for Total Panic (however, I feel like parts of it's set look familiar). 2) Finders Keepers - YEP...if I were hanging out with you and your sister at that time, I would have been yelling at the screen too, because I did too. I loved this show, and I found myself wanting to be on it, but in 89 I was only 6 y/o. My favorite segments of the show were A) when they had to answer allegorical questions pertaining to what's hidden in the picture on the board, and B) the end of the show, where they had to search through the room within a short timeframe to find what he's allegorically telling them the item is. 3) Think Fast - This was a show I BRIEFLY remember. I remember this set piece (4:44), and and some of the others look familiar, but it's been a long time since I had seen it. 4) Make The Grade - THIS was one of my most favorite shows! This show was like "are you smarter than a 5th grader?" or like a children's version of Jeopardy (which didn't exist yet), but zany and wacky. My favorite part of this show would have been that end cap that you saw (7:09). ANOTHER show I was yelling at the screen because (just like now), I'm like, "DUDE, Marty didn't have a WORLD almanac, EVERYBODY knows IT'S THE SPORTS ALMANAC...SLACKER!" (sorry, I zoned out for a minute; flashbacks, you know) and (of course), 5) Double Dare - this was my MOST favorite Nick game show (I'm sure it was for many). For you younger ones (if you don't know), when this show picked up massive popularity it also became one of the biggest building blocks for almost all of Nick's game shows (where contestants would have actions along with questions, etc.). From the set pieces to Mark and Harvey, this show had it all. My most favorite parts of this show was the question block (Dare........double dare.........(YES).....PHYSICAL CHALLENGE!!!), the Physical Challenges themselves, and The Ultimate Physical Challenge (The final block of the show). OOOOOHHHHH man, the nostalgia is fierce right now. These shows (and MANY others on Nick) helped me through a lot of rough patches in my youth. Well, I gotta run....I'm standing before a Temple that was said to be Hidden...what's this? There are Legends on the wall! Something about an "Ulnek?"
@@TheReviewStudios Ahh, as always my friend, it is a pleasure to share! These are such fond memories; I feel like every time I share these. I have many of them when it comes to Nick and Disney, amongst MANY others. Yeah, I'm an ol' TV head, lol. I'm actually working on a 3D project; an ohmage to the old Nick Bumpers that aired between each commercial break and show transition period! When I'm done, I'll leave a link here somewhere if you would like to see it!
Double Dare and Finders Keepers are the earliest game shows I remember watching. They're both pretty special to me when it comes to game shows in general. Think Fast is just okay, and I have a soft spot for Make The Grade for basic trivia but the Fire Drill is just stupidly unfair.
Finders Keepers with the original host was fantastic. I'm surprised you didn't mention Guts and Get the Picture with Mike O'Malley. I had a crush on Moira Quirk
I can't say that I've seen any of these. In fact, Double Dare is the only one I've even heard of out of these. Mainly due to clips I've seen from wrestling channels where I guess Bobby the Brain Heenan and Gorilla Monsoon was guest contestants. Anyways, still enjoyed this video. Thank you.
I enjoyed watching double dare and double dare 2000. It was like one of the first few game shows I watch that got me into game shows to this day. Another one which I thought would’ve made this list was GUTS. GUTS and Double Dare was what I grew up watching on Nick and then Nick Gas.
I listened to that whole make the grade quiz and I was like, "I answered those faster than him and more accurately. But he still knew all of that and that was hard in the 90s.
