You gatta admit Nubin ships were like flying works of art. I'm suprised having a Nubian craft never became some kind of status symbol among the wealthy and well connected. Like owning NFTs or crypto here on Earth.
So, here's some food for thought. The Nubian J-Type Star Skiff had a stock hyperdrive rated at class 0.5 Padme had one, and most likely had it throughout most of the clone wars since her H-Type was destroyed on Rodia. Padme was married to Anakin. Anakin was a huge gearhead who tinkered with ships and other tech almost compulsively. _Anakin most likely had access to Padme's Star Skiff at some point for long enough that he could have modified the hyperdrive to make it even faster._ Padme's J-Type Star Skiff was most likely faster than the Millennium Falcon by RotS, and as far as we know, that ship's still out there somewhere. Remember, the ship Palpatine gave to Vader that then got rammed through the atmosphere of Mustifar at mach 25 and had its hull burnt to a crisp was Padme's old J-Type 327 Diplomatic Cruiser, not the skiff. Also, while the ship was officially retired, it's possible that after the Empire consolidated its hold on the galaxy the vessel could have ended up in someone else's hands.
Now it actualy makes Sense she has a different star ship in the revenge if the sith. Then in the clone wars. Since in the mandalorian we saw how jedi master kelleran beq took grogu, On padme's original ship.
I've heard speculation that the ship we see in the mandalorian was one that was given to jar jar, but that doesn't seem to make sense since the chromium plating was specifically used by naboo royalty.

Great video. Just one correction: Naboo has not a royal family, cause is an elective monarchy, not an hereditary one. People choose their Queens and Kings voting, so they don't inherit the title by blood. That's why Amidala was queen just for some years along her mandate, before a new Queen was elected, and another one till the end of the Republic.
I had just assumed they were of Noble bloodlines and like on Alderaan that was seen more as a responsibility to serve the people through government service.
I'm guessing it relies on its speed to escape if threatened as it doesn't have any escape pods for its passengers? (Unlike a lot of vessels used for diplomacy or negotiations 🤔😊)

Good question! There might be a turbolift in there somewhere, or there may be side ramps inside on either side of the main ramp that run up into the cockpit, we never see much of the inside of the craft TBH.
There is a lot to be said for their looks, as they were meant to reflect the grace and beauty of naboo culture over more powerful weaponry and other systems, but yeah, they weren't exactly known for their brawn!
Due to the events seen in ep1 with the royal transport barely making it past the blockade in 1 piece, the theed palace engineers set about to boosting the defenses on their royal ships. Better shields, faster sunlight and translight engines. And long range support for escort fighters. They are very functional ships, just not combat focused. They rely on their speed and manuverability to survive. I mean, the naboo cruiser from ep2 was as fast sublight as the tie defender, and had a .75 class hyperdrive.
With the ROTS anniversary next year, this should be a LEGO set
