This is something I love about starwars, is you can have a planet full of gaunt, sharp toothed aliens and their goblin underlings and they aren't all just predictable villains.
Yeah, the trailer made it look like Tion Medon was snarling threateningly, and he was just whispering, while in the movie, the whole lot of them were very polite and soft-spoken and helpful.
Honestly, it's refreshing to see the Pau'an and Utai get along despite their semi-caste system; it would have been kinda cliché if it was just another "servants rebelling against their cruel overlords" story. This comes across more like a symbiotic relationship, since the Pau'an's longer lifespans allow them to guide the Utai with their accumulated knowledge, and their larger stature lends itself well to territorial defense.
@@robrick9361 I dunno, Star Wars is 10x more massive than those franchises and the Lore is a lot bigger considering all the cross sections, expanded Universe material, books, shows, novels ect ect it means every single thing in universe has a detailed backstory
@@robrick9361 maybe. Something else I like about Star Wars is it doesn't have a clear start or endpoint. Usually with Sci-Fi series they're all set in the future and have to keep continuity with humanity's past. With Star Wars because it's in a completely different place in space and it presumably takes place in an ancient time period their's no way to connect it to Earth in any way so the stories feel more in depth and all the lore and backstory feels unique to that world without any Earth references.
Given that there was a lot of emphasis on the Pau'an that wasn't the Grand Inquisitor in the Jedi: Survivor trailer, and that the Mantis seemed to be crashed on a world that looked suspiciously like Utapau, I hope that this planet is going to be one of the locations in the game. I have always loved how Utapau looks, and it has always been one of my favorite prequel planets, up there with Naboo.

Always wanted to see more material about Darth Desolus. He was the dark Lord of his time and the last for a good while, and his army of pauans against the jedi always seemed like an interesting conflict to me
Ngl the lack of effort into aligning the Grand Inquisitor in Kenobi with their appearance in Ep 3 is just frustrating. It was decisions like that that have me not rushing to watch Kenobi yet. I’ll see whether it seems to stand the test of time.
What are you talking about? His supposed to look like that because the Grand Inquisitor is extremely young compared to the 3000 year old Ancients in Revenge of the Sith. The lines on the top of their head and face are an indication of how many decades they've been alive and GI is only 57-ish years old.
Honestly, I didn't think it was that big a deal. It's not really a spoiler, but he's barely in it so it's basically a non-issue, and honestly I think his design kind of looks better in Kenobi. I've always thought the grand inquisitor's head looked a little bulbous in rebels, and he almost looked more like a weird muun instead of an pau'an.

Well you could say that the Grand Inquisitor is just a different race of Pau'an. Or just younger. He doesn't look as wrinkly and dry as other Pau'ans even in Rebels. Remember that Utapau is an entire planet, not just a single country. So it likely had different races of yhe same alien species just as much as we humans look different on one side if the world from the other.
Utapau is pretty interesting. I never cared for it until LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga and after roaming it there I feel like it's pretty underused.

the only thing that sucks about creating fictional giant beasts and monsters is the OBVIOUS lack of ecology and food chain that supports them. The bigger they are, the more base caloric metabolism is needed to support them, if you want them to be fast or have special abilities then that's even more calorically demanding. Like the sandworms on Arakis, the whole thing falls apart when there is nothing organic to eat. Star Wars often falls into the same trap. I mean, what do bantha, or mudhorns eat? just asking. I get that tuskans hunt, but again, food chain ecology dude. please, make it make sense.
