So many have tried this with varied levels of success. Doing this only gives you a quick boost within eBay searches, but actually kills your Google rankings for items that were already out there.
That's a good point. For me, I don't care about destroying my Google rank for older items because they haven't sold so I feel like I'm giving them a new chance.
Thanks so much for all the valuable information! Do you by chance have a more recent video on your process for refreshing stale/old listings? Or do you plan on making one?
@@cayleyelaine okay! Thank you! Yes this is what I have been doing, however, I find that with seasonal items this tactic can decrease prices too much when the reason they aren’t selling may be d/t the item being out of season rather than being over priced so I’ll need to find a way to watch for this..
Once I have done as you have instructed, how do I get the new item number to match the same listing on List Perfectly? Thank you so much for your help!
By doing it this way, you are creating a brand new listing, therefore each item # will be new and different. You would have to go edit the list perfectly listing and add the new item # in the inventory section of the listing.
Thanks. I tried this yesterday and it worked without any store subscriptions. I had 8 items. When I tried to do it today for just 1 item ended and it was different. When I hit action to end it's giving me options to choose why I'm ending my listing early. I heard you say you have to have a store to do this. I'm wondering if yesterday was a fluke and ebay didn't notice but today they did. I don't know why this happened. I don't know if I'm ready for a store subscription yet😊
Hi Angela! You should be able to do it without a store however I'm not sure if it will let you end and sell similar in bulk. Lmk if I'm wrong. The one that was different sounds like it might have been an auction instead of a buy it now? I'm not sure how many listings you have but you'd be surprised how quickly a store could save you money and make your life easier. I have a video about when it's time to get a store subscription. ☺
A very helpful video. I am a smaller seller. Only about 130 active listings. No store. How long do you wait before ending and doing sell similar? Thanks again!
Hi! I actually no longer use this method but back when I was doing it it was every 30 days. And I would do it right before the listing was about to expire.
When you do this on eBay to refresh listings do you loose the link between your listing and your platform that you're using to cross list on. Im using FLYP . But if I sell similar to refresh the eBay listings I won't be able to manage them from FLYP anymore. I'm trying to figure out the best way.
Correct, this video was made before crosslisting options were available. I'm not sure how flip works but on LP you can link listings on platforms to LP now. You can also delist from LP and recrosspost to the platform so that you have the link.

Did you know that if you use the down down to the left of the item picture and select end listing that it permanently ends the listing. YES. The item does not go to the Unsold or Ended list page.
