  • I finally had time to do a show and tell on my latest acquisition, a 2003 BMW Z4. 'Tis truly a majestic and capable roadster.

Timeless design. Absolutely beautiful. My dream car. Most underrated sports car on this planet.

Finally got around to watching this, so glad you figured out the roof situation by yourself I could imagine a shop would just default to replacing the entire hydraulic system, put it back in its original spot and never touch the gutter lol. So good on ya for the utilitarian fix. Also love Chimkin and the car looks like a dream.

Great video. I'm a proud owner of e85 too. There's actually a bluetooth module adopter being sold on Amazon for 20 bucks. Easy install and clean.

Greetings from Germany from another bearded E85 driver, and thanks for your nice introduction of yours. It is like a timemachine from a happier era and always a pleasure to enjoy the inline 6 in that tiny body.

Enjoyed the show & tell, truly not much work do be done on a 20 year old car. Glad you got the roof working :) The Turbine wheels are lovely, maybe a refurb at some point? I got mine done about 8 years ago and it was so worth it, although mine are not the Turbine style and are tricky to clean, probably the slowest part of a basic wash. Shame about the headlights, I think they are beyond a refurb with all the oxidisation and the leak issue you had, maybe a nice clean used set can be acquired?
The engine bay is so clean and the underside looks incredible too. There's so much to love about the e85 and anytime I watch any videos I just want to get out and drive mine. Regarding the bleep, mine sometimes does it on start up and I have no idea why either? but it will do it when the temp outside is low and the temp LED reading flashes to warn of possible icy conditions which is good. Enjoy the car during the months ahead, I live in Ireland so the summers are short, just nice to get the roof down and her that raspy straight 6 and the wind in your hair.

The beep I think is if you have something on the passenger seat it sets the seat belt alarm off but only one beep, mine does but yours might be for something else. Or the reverse sensors sometimes beep. My rocker gasket is leaking so going to fix that. I purchased cup holders and put them in myself…..dead easy 2 screws. I’m not sure if you are a fan or if you think the car has a sporty enough sound but look up TH-cam “Z4 backbox delete” something you might want. I did it and it’s the best sound ever. But you are right what you say about the driving of the car. It’s an absolute pleasure to drive and hugs the road exceptionally well. Best BMW ever I recon 👍👍👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌

Thanks for the intel Garry! I'm very curious about this backbox delete... I'm definitely going to check that out. If i could make the burble i hear even louder, that would be pure magic. I love your enthusiasm for your car! Also great to hear that the cupholders are easy to replace, I might try and tackle that project next.

And they were made in America in Carolina I think and there were only not quite three hundred thousand built so they are a keeper investment 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Super easy with the cup holder. Yehhhhh deffo do the back box delete. That deep sound suddenly becomes a head turner. Get her really warm like get engine to fully heated up, for me usually takes 5-10 minutes. Then second gear wind her up 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘the top end roar suddenly becomes a “proper racing motor” sound…… gotta hear it to understand. You will actually laugh to yourself it sounds “that good”. Mods and stuff is easy to do like stick on carbon fibre kits that fit over things really well……actually improves and if it’s not your thing it’s easy removable. Tasteful without taking the style of the original look. Yep she’s low😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑 I’ve bought the large plastic splash guard for under the motor, stops wet spray coming up into the botttof the engine bay but being low….. I know how the original one is missing……probably speed bumps victim. I’m of a thought that they are one of the nicest body shapes I’ve seen👍👍👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
