      WOLFTICK VIDEOS why do you guys keep spending money on that bike frame I know it’s fun to upgrade a bike from the bottom up but you guys spend more money on that bike then you would on a brand new Mountain bike from DiamondBack/Polygon/Giant/GT

    • @WOLFTICKVIDEOS
      @WOLFTICKVIDEOS  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @CloXeno Is this the first video of ours that you watched? We have several different projects going please take a few minutes, and look around our channel. If you still feel that we are missing the mark, please let us know. We have a very large GT following, and they like us trying out budget parts, and upgrades on the GT. We currently have 5 bikes in our rotation, and come Tuesday we will be adding another one, so please turn on your notifications bell, and take a guess at the next project code named "humpty dumpty" lol. Thanks for the feedback, and hope we hear back from you.

      @@haydarjasim6766 My opinion is that they know the importance of budget bikes in the mtb community. You buy the bike you can afford at that time, then just do the upgrades you want over time. There’s a lot of people that want to ride while they are saving money for say a new air fork or new stem, handlers, etc. I know it’s worked for me. I would much rather be riding while doing a little here and there when I can afford it rather that spend a year riding nothing trying to save for an expensive bike. Totally just my opinion. My motto is ride and ride as much as you can.

    Man, probably late reply, but hey, I'm new to this. I picked up an Aggressor that was new 2020 that had only been ridden like twice. I'm actually having a lot of fun with it. Learning budget mods and stuff. I got it to where I scare the crap out of myself on it sometimes lol. I think one of your videos pointed me to where I'm at. I replaced the entire drivetrain. Budget friendly. Action crank with an oval Snail ring, full microshift Advent X setup. Crazy how fun that bike is now. Like, it shifts immediately. It's not clunky like the Shimano stuff that was on there before. No more chain drop issues

    I kept my 3x9: 32t middle is my main ring with 12-40 cassette; changed the 44t to a 36t & use as a $7 bashguard; 22t granny is sometimes useful for some ridiculous climbs we have in NC (worth the weight)
    Many thanks for these budget upgrade vids & reviews. They are major help.

      I want to upgrade bearings and races of the headset on my 2012 Ironhorse warrior 3.1 26" full suspension bike which is completely upgraded and it is eye candy for all the riders of the local trails . I ride a 2021 Giant Trance 27.5 which is awesome from a mechanical standpoint but ugly as hell and I love her but I can't quit my old 26" .

    Post the video. LUTU and KTZ (probably same company) should be "singing your praises" and sending you as many forks as needed for life. You definitely hammered the hell out of both and proven, contrary to everyone else in the biking world, they hold up and work well.

    Another awesome video. Love you guys. I have an aggressor pro that I bought used but was basically new. The guy I got it from never rode it and installed all Deity upgrades; pedals, saddle and grips. I added a new 45mm stem and a 720mm bar. It’s an xl frame and fits me like a glove. I looked at a million other bikes but couldn’t find one that fit me better than the Agressor pro. Got many more upgrades in the near future.

    Great stuff you guys are doing. Unbelievably helpful. I have an aggressor pro, that I’ve been upgrading (crankset, went 1x8 and oval chainring). Thank you for giving me the confidence to make the changes. You guys have been my guinea pig and shown me the way especially with ordering the right parts. Keep up the good work. I will soon take on the 1X10 conversion with new derailleur, cassette and shifter. I remember watching one of your videos and you spoke of a headache when dealing with the derailleur hanger on the GT. What hanger did you go with? I plan on the same setup you guys used for the conversion.
    Thanks again and keep up the good work.

    • @WOLFTICKVIDEOS
      @WOLFTICKVIDEOS  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Appreciate ht kind words Brian, thats real cool man. Now we went with a non needed WOLFTOOTH hanger that is supposed to work with a larger cassette, something like a 50t. The reason we went with it was because the budget aspect and could not get a proper hanger at the time that was atleat in the U.S. So we had to settle. Now all that being said you may otta checkout the new derailleur and shifter (groupset) we are going to install on the GT build!! Checkout the newest GT upgrades update video we just put out man, it shows it in there as well as some new forks!! Good luck man and please do watch and turn the notifications on as well, after install we will be doing a realtime review like always!!! Thanks man Love the guinea pig comment!!!! HA HA

    Haha I remember also telling you, a 11-50 is a life changer especially if you do big climbs. Also haha that was me with the dropper post comment :P Damn that's unfortunate with the chain. The ixfs have been known to strip at the pedal threads. But with budget parts you also have to be on the lookout and inspect parts and retorque stuff whenever you do a bike clean.

    Hey man love you videos and the budget theme. I just wanted to tell you about a bike I bought. It’s the north rock xc00 fat bike it’s only 300 dollars at Costco. It’s great I’ve had it for about 2 months And I have no complaints. It’s a 1x8 drive train with a trigger shifter and michanical disk brakes in the front and back. Everything about it’s is awesome and I thought that you should review it and maybe upgrade it. That’s about it, love your vids btw

    After seeing a clip of you fixing your LUTU budget fork made me realize that there are ZERO videos on TH-cam of anyone doing a thorough breakdown / rebuild of these budget forks.
    It would be cool if you could do a teardown/comparison, of your ZTZ and Lutu forks. It would help thousands of us budget conscious bikers.
    BTW, I bought a Bolany fork and I'm pretty happy with it. Pretty much the same fork, rebranded.

NEW BUDGET FORK MAN!!!! Just came in today woop woop!!:) May be a good idea once I learn more about the cheaper differences. I can say the ZTZ forks have a better inner lower build as opposed to the plastic inner lowers the Lutus have kinda were the spacers are supposed to be for air chambers, if that makes any sense.

    5:59 Dropper post remote, but if you are already talking about the dropper post, you don't need to specify that it's a dropper post remote, you can just call it remote, unless you have other remotes on the bike, then you should specify.

    • @WOLFTICKVIDEOS

      Ehhhhh, I prefer lever;)

    • @mtbboy1993
      @mtbboy1993 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WOLFTICKVIDEOS it is a lever, but not all have a lever some have a button, like old remotel on Rock Shox Reverb, they use hydraulic system it had a button, but that did not work so well with rest of cockpit controls, so a lever replaced it. Technically a lever is just the lever it self not the whole remote. So it's a lever remote. But not a big deal, viewers will understand what you mean, but if faking about others levers too, you need to spesify, some exampled: suspension lock out remote, lever on suspension lockout, dropper post lever or remote.

      WOLFTICK VIDEOS thanks brotha, there is just something about building something within your own two hands and then you go get to ride it, it’s a wonderful feeling, for sure made sure everything is locked down, handle bars feel way better the rise on them and length on them gives the bike a much more sporty kind of motocross feel, new grips obviously feel way nicer, pedals have way better grip and the new shorter stem gives the bike a more comfortable feel and ride position for me but I’m not very tall haha I’m like 5 foot 7” so I don’t know if a shorter stem is for everybody, and last but not least the new tires have made a huge difference I went with the 2.4’s for for right now which is a huge jump from the stock, when I finally got them delivered and I got to see them in person they were a lot wider than I expected I was like damn how are these going to fit but they slid in nicely with room to spare, I will prob bump up to 2.6 or 2.8 at some point but right now I’m just getting used to the new upgrades and most importantly how the bike rides with these new tires, it’s like a whole different bike now with the wider and more grippy tires. Still shopping for a new fork don’t know if I should just buy the KTZ for $119.99 or just save up for the SUNTOUR New Epixon:
      KTZ: $119.99
      100mm travel
      Weight 1700 g
      No rebound adjustment
      SunTour Epixon $219.98
      140 mm travel
      Weight 1640 g
      Rebound adjustment
      Remote Lockout

    • @WOLFTICKVIDEOS
      @WOLFTICKVIDEOS  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Due that motorcross feel is what its all about!!! LOL It feels awesome with that low stem doesnt it? When you go to 2.6 tire you will feel like your on a yamaha my man! Now dont go to a 2.8 they will rub nasty like!! But you may wanna look at the LUTU forks for $144 area? The most I think you should go is a 120mm travel more than that and that would be too much and may risk injury man. 120mm travel, rebound, 2.36lbs ??? pretty light maybe 3.36 bu thats an idea?

    • @jordanburnett4014
      @jordanburnett4014 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      WOLFTICK VIDEOS yah not allowed to buy a motorcycle so I might as well make my mountain bike feel like one haha, you think having the rebound adjustment is the deal maker with those lutu forks ? I’m also sick of how heavy these stock SunTour forks feel.
      I clicked the link that you posted on the Lutu fork what did you pick for the 3rd option ? Under item name...did you pick fork+expander & Top cap? Or just fork ?

    • @WOLFTICKVIDEOS
      @WOLFTICKVIDEOS  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WOLFTICKVIDEOS no worries I appreciate it. I was actually looking into getting the 11-50t cassette, with ixf crankset and chainring, the derailleur you have listed(Shimano Deore XT SHADOW Direct Mount Rear Derailleur) and now the shifter. Do you think i would need to get any adapters like the goatlink or something of that sort? Appreciate the help.

    • @WOLFTICKVIDEOS
      @WOLFTICKVIDEOS  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No problem man and I would say if you are going to buy the same derailleur I have then you really otta look at this one, its the exact same one but it includes a hanger/adapter. That way you wont have to use an adapter like the goatlink which I had to do. The only reason I used the goatlink was because I couldent find the derailleur with an adapter only direct mount, so I improvised. But I highly suggest you get this derailleur and wait to see for you will need an additional adapter for the 50t setup. It will help in the long run brother. rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2FNew-Shimano-Deore-XT-RD-M786-SGS-Shadow-Lockout-Rear-Derailleur-Black-10-speed%2F401893276410%3Fepid%3D691220410%26_trkparms%3Dispr%253D1%26hash%3Ditem5d92b4bafa%3Ag%3AR-gAAOSwxjpdheo3%26amdata%3Denc%253AAQAFAAACcBaobrjLl8XobRIiIML1V4Imu%25252Fn%25252BzU5L90Z278x5ickkTboA95HSvGa1O5UmCCGJLqqtapI2SQ1YpY2MRoTmfmiVmRNeCuwmnBFljQA41PW4zNXl4JZQqsZTqTE5%25252FzILUzl9OQLn3tbaRrBM2mqbR5c9GvTJ0FfZo30y7TJLr5v%25252BOKMzxy1mxKw7Kgzn94%25252Fe8UNLsO%25252BSOPbqBdFWujLpDhdsjxZFl4h2iEixAIoVsORZyoF%25252FLWupXjtgyo23raju6As8ZzfhTKVStUqSZp1IQr8NM7avVZdbrjGX3iTVsS3HHfzCfEBXvDkT9tcmHhAetJuO65uF94F3vi4GQEQbwqPmuaPktLXNwYhLGEt%25252FVq%25252BMuYMaH3z%25252By%25252BtWYy3M4Dyx3uYO8lOIl5DeYETblfI3OzkzusHDbGRreIj1Xc2zUC29HoQFPeJAktkIOVEUUfNs62MKRiuhTtsSSdYmngXfiTLge4xVyACr%25252BH42n%25252FXM8CdnIyQpvDjhgluKsoR3ei9fr0Q85Tg6ta3ir6Zk5Dbx3PRlgjTf8OVmlGcgn%25252Bn67bNitJzW0O673sT5bKpqJFEEXoGT3t8TwotctZZF8NZYPbe6aFdeMpCh%25252BQAO9LEuO7neJtbvgYtBoXt5YIQdG6MnloGugK738Q8VTWw%25252F18h7t5Ey%25252BJVhLbwAw9rQEqcpzTwFFVsH1SpHpyBj2jYtyusCLYrALDQHeX%25252Bf3ND9V9lJ9%25252BYGwl7y8KKozFoVf%25252BF4Iv%25252BELxua%25252Be31n3N1lsBSeJb5Omvu1F%25252FghhA4ngtBCpIFwwivwAqJoCCVA5rL1fKdD0dmnCCVhyNFJdyT0h8a1LVT0A%25253D%25253D%257Ccksum%253A40189327641041ace9eb889f4a589a8c155ee5b51708%257Campid%253APL_CLK%257Cclp%253A2334524&campid=5338684594&toolid=10001&customid=Derailleur

    Ive been riding casual (2x a month) for 5 yrs now. When I was a kid, I rode a 24" Mongoose BMX all the way to college age. I would ride that thing on trails hard, before MTB was really a thing. To this date, I dont really understand what the benefits of upgrading the headset or BB are. What is it that I am getting from the upgrade on those?
    Also, when I was a kid, I bent a few 1pc cranks from torquing them too hard. The solution was supposed to be 3pc cranks, but I couldn't afford a 3pc. Everything now are 3pc cranks. What is the advantage of upgrading to a more expensive 3pc?

    Just had issues with the chain this morning. Kept skipping on the cassette, made my ride horrible. Took it to my local bike shop, adjjsted the derailleur and took it home. Rode in the grass to practice some jumps off a ramp I have and kept doin it... any idea? Taking it back so they can look 🤷‍♂️

      I would try changing the chain ring to the inside of the crank arm rather than mounting to the the outside. I was having similar issues with mine as well. I would also look into a chain guide, especially with jumping. Can totally relate to you in that. My chain was dropping all the time. Also make.sure that you have it aligned with the rear caset. They have the spacer rings, but they are sometimes not needed given your application. Good luck!

    7:11 this could be caused by burrs chewing the handle bar at heavy loads, it basically is slowly cutting the handlebar, but if it was a carbon handlebar it could have failed but aluminium is more resistant to this.
    it could also have been a crack in the handlebar, but if you tested the handlebar on another stem then that's not it.
    Problem with geometry?, no matter how wrong that is that should not cause any noise, no matter the direction the stem is mounted.
    You should have shows the closeup of the stem, at different angles, and show the handlebars used with it.
