    in overwhelming part. thats very true. my favorite donki branch is in near sensoji temple in asakusa ward(just across kappa-bashi alley) because of the karaoke bar near donki itself.

    Thanks for these tips. I agree with the suggestion of the leg/feet patch and even the soaks to soothe after all day of walking. Our third day I purchased and used them. Great help for tired muscles. For me, the heat packs/stick-on were also a must for winter walking as we explored.

    Great video! I love going to the Donki in Hawaii but its not the same as Japan. They used to sell Kit Kats at the Donki in Hawaii but they stopped a while ago. I tried going to Donki when I visited Japan in April but it was always soooo crowded in Shibuya and Shinjuku! I finally found one in Nakano and it wasnt as crazy! Can't wait for Part 2!

    Love your top 10 videos. The content of your selection is super informational. I've always wondered about the pain patches, but next time around it'll be a instant buy. Good job on the hanko research. I needed to replace mine and what you showed is definitely more economical for my needs. Love the customization options. Do you recommend any specific DonQuijote stores? I know some are always crowded and others a smaller than others so curious which one you think is best. You mention part 2 will be all on beauty products, think your hubby can tag team on video on man care products in Japan?

    • @TokiYuYu
      @TokiYuYu  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was so intimidated by small dark local hanko shops so I spent lots of time researching a Donki vending machine for it lol! Plus the cheapest ones are 500Yen! I usually go to Ginza store, it seems to be okay. Some other people also asked about men care products, I will keep it in mind for future videos!

    Thank you for the sunscreen suggestions! I am always looking for new/better sunscreen sprays and creams to use, especially multi-use ones like the spray type that can be used for face touch up over makeup or on your hair (as shown in your Costco video). Now, I wonder if I can buy them in San Francisco's Japantown...

    Really curios what you're gonna show in the next part! I really must be the only person on this planet who's not a huge fan of the biore sunscreen "^^ And I need those patches for pain relief!! My favourite donki is actually the shinjuku one (which is weirdly located in Shinokubo), there's not that many people and they have a lot of Korean snacks and soju as well.

    • @TokiYuYu

      Everybody has their preference in beauty products including sunscreen! I have definitely tried many products other people rave about, but I don't like that much! :D I've heard about the location in Shin-Okubo but now that you mentioned they have Korean snacks and soju, I will HAVE to go lol!

    1. As an overseas tourist, in this duty free shop, how do I do at payment counter? Do I show passport and get a tax refund receipt for use in the airport on departure day? 2. Skin care like face mask, foam face wash, toner etc, cheaper at this duty free shop or local pharmacy? Not necessarily too expensive brands, average affordable brands which are popular with locals are fine. 3. Are there skin care products in 100 yen / daisy in Japan? Do local ppl buy from there? Thanks , look forward to part 2!

      would like to know too to all your question as I'm a tourist too.

    • @japanesenoodles
      @japanesenoodles 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      i'm not certain.. maybe i didn't buy enough but i couldn't do tax free at this shop i think.. but the prices here and at other discount pharmacies were cheaper than duty free... their prices are below RRP by a good amount for the products i purchased so i found even with tax they are cheaper.. there is no harm in asking if you can get tax refund just in case i'm wrong, payment at the store is like all other normal stores in japan, you go to the checkout with your goods and place them on the counter for the employee to process and they'll let you know the total. The 100 yen/daiso stores do sell a small range of skin care but its their own house brand, whereas at DonKi they sell name brand, yes lots of locals buy things here because the price is good and the range is super extensive... some locations have different offerings.. like the shinjuku one near koreatown (not the station) has more korean snacks than other locations if that interests you

    • @yyysboy1
      @yyysboy1 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      japanesenoodles sorry i thought don quijote is duty free shop - my mistake. duty free, to my knowledge, can be top brands most of time. i live on budget, i like cheaper affordable products and i do have good trust in japanese quality despite brands...i will certainly have a look at discount pharmacy and bargain shops :) are most of products in japan made in japan by the way?

      It is tax free when you purchase ¥5000 or over. Food and drinks don't count towards this. There is a separate counter to check out for tax free and you have to give your passport.

    • @TokiYuYu
      @TokiYuYu  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pay attention to the color of canker sore patch box, there's white/red version and a yellow/red version. The yellow/red version is more intense, therefore heals faster but you can only use it twice a day. The white/red version is more mild

      I usually always visit the Ginza store I showed in this video, I find it not as overwhelming as the other ones I went to. Shibuya and Shinjuku are definitely among the busiest. However, try to shop during the day in the middle of the week helps too, it's usually a lot more crowded at night

    Another wonderful and very helpful video! OMG Yuyu, I went to a Donki in Akiba in May but it was my first time and I felt so overwhelmed from not having a top buy list! This is sooooo useful and I'll def use it next time I go to Japan! You're the best :D

      I've noted your suggestions in my to-do list :D I want to prepare fully before I do a video on a store instead of just recommending whatever comes to my mind, but I'm a big fan of those stores too, so stay tuned! ー( ´ ▽ ` )ノ

    There is some great stuff at Don Quijote, but prices are only good for certain things. I found souvenirs to be kinda pricey at Don Quijote. You could spend so much time just looking for things you don't need there. Retail is not dead in Japan.

    Hi- the suncream you recommended, is there a difference between the blue and pink packaging? x

    • @TokiYuYu
      @TokiYuYu  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The pink one is a floral scent limited edition one. I'm not sure if it's still available but the blue one is always available

    Just because there's a product doesn't mean it works or is safe or even well regulated. This sounds like a big infomercial. Everything is great and wonderful.

    Hi, may I ask, are the luxury bags, watches that are being sold in donquijote original or knock offs?

    Thanks TokiYuYu, Do they have one in SF or Bay area as well or similar one like Don Quiote? Can you recommend a Japanese website for international shopper ? Thank you for your useful videos! Love it!

      I used to buy a lot of things at Mitsuwa in San Jose. You can get a lot of things there, there's even a Japanese bookstore and food court in there (also fresh Royce chocolates and fancy Japanese pastries), just make sure to go during the week if you can because it gets really busy. I also went to Marukai in Cupertino a lot but that one is mostly good for groceries only

      Thank you TokiYuYu. Sounds very temping, I will try the Royce Chocolates you suggested the next time I go to Mitskwa. Really hope they will open some Japanese store like those you suggested in East bay soon. Cause it seems like they are located in South bay.
