There’s still something special about a AAA game that picks a lane and sticks to it. That said, I can see how that loop can get tiresome. I think 4 was a tad too long.

I'm never burnt out on Ubisoft. To paraphrase NakeyJakey's recent vid, they're basically fast food, and sometimes I dont have the appetite or energy or brainpower after work to cook a nice flashy meal, or in a game's case, to dive into a story heavy masterpiece. Sometimes I just wanna relieve tension with kickass combat, which AC games tend to nail IMO

AC Shadows is interesting because it seems almost emblematic of the current stylistic crisis the series is facing. On the one hand you have your typical assassin character with Naoe who climbs rooftops and stealthily takes out her enemies. On the other hand there's Yasuke, who's a hulking warrior that can crush anything in his path through melee combat. It's like Ubisoft is trying to please both the older fans (stealth players) and the newer fans (3rd person combat players) without commiting to a specific gameplay style, and I can't help but think that the style the majority of players pick in AC Shadows will be the style Ubisoft commits to in the future.
When we got our 1st glimpse of Star Wars Outlaws last year I already had my mind made up that it would be a game I would be buying, which I have preordered. I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to test both Division 1 & 2 and I’ve absolutely enjoyed both. so when I heard Massive was in charge of this game I was definitely on board. I probably would’ve been anyway because I’m a big Star Wars fan.
I'm looking to see what Star Wars outlaws turns out to be....I've played the EA recent Jedi games I've like those....I haven't too keen on the recent Ubisoft games...kinda not so so great same stuff but not as good....I guess I was bummed out when they cancelled the immortals Fenix 2 development...that to me was one of their best :|

On the smaller game front I'm playing Still Wakes the Deep at the moment. As long as you are up for a more stealthy and involved walking simulator its really, really good. I did hesitate a bit before describing it as that because its definitely more mechanically involved than a typical game of that style. The writing is absolutely on point. You are trapped on an oil rig in the North sea and the claustrophobia really works in its favour. You are trying to save people, as well as yourself, and they all have real personality meaning it feels like it matters. It doesn't feel like its going to be a long game and its on Gamepass for those that have it. Highly recommend.
Definitely getting Star Wars outlaws because like you said these Star Wars games lately have really been 🔥 and a bounty hunter open world Star Wars Count me in really hope the final product comes out great too I don’t really follow Star Wars universe like that especially the things Disney+ has been doing with it which we’re not gonna talk about the games. I absolutely love for sure.
Star Wars Outlaws could be kinda good. I was not expecting _Jedi: Fallen Order_ (after Battlefront II 🙄) or _Far Cry 6_ - a Ubisoft game - to be any good, and was pleasantly surprised. 🙂

Tales of the shire sounds like Dreamlight valley, which my wife loves, so definitely sharing that info with her. I want outlaws to be good so bad, but definitely in wait and see mode but becoming more optimistic about it.
I'm actually looking forward to Star Wars Outlaws, I don't think it will be some genre defining game but I miss playing Third Person Shooters, and there aren't many that grabbed my attention especially one that has Deep and rich lore like Star Wars.
I'm looking forward to Outlaws. The ubisoft formula isn't going to set the world on fire at this point, but it's enough to keep me engaged when they do more fantastical settings and not just Far Cry and ass creed. I enjoyed that Avatar game. Would love to see them expand their formula to more fantasy and scifi settings, that's what they need to do if they want my money. Avatar was the first ubisoft game I bought since assassin's creed brotherhood.
For a huge star wars fan like me it's painfull to see who is making star wars outlaws, an open world game we always wanted. I wanna know much SBI is involved into that game.
I'd like Skate Story if the story is 3-5 hours. Star Wars does look like it'll scratch an itch that hasn't been scratched in a while, so looking forward to that.
Any game in this setting will be compared to the ghost, it’s probably the best story and combat in that setting we will get , every game that goes to that era , will from now be sadly compared, but we will get a second ghost of tsunami

Regardless on your review. I already had preordered assassins Creed shadow. Looking forward to playing it. As it’s already been stated, players won’t have control over the time of day. So Stealth in the day time will be difficult. Probably the time of day, will determine how difficult the assassination will become. Plus might be time sensitive. I even recall them saying folks can choose whoever they wanna play ass. Just trying stealth in daytime. Without social cover probably going to make things difficult. Just not impossible for missions though.

Haven’t played an assassins creed game since the second one as the combat felt very shallow and boiled down to counter, kill. Doesn’t sound like that has changed much then based on his accounts.
Outlaws - definitely interesting ! Shadows - ghost of Tsushima is not awaylable where I live, so they will have to do a good job Skate - ehhhh, I’m recovering from a nice fall on skate, so yep, skate game would be nice) I actually really want a skate 3 kind of game)

Ngl Outlaws looks to be what Starfield didn't quite achieve. Vibe and tone aside, SWO just looks to hit that space-element-based immersion better. Surprisingly looking forward to that one.
My issue with Star Wars outlaws is that I don’t play Star Wars to be a regular person with a blaster. I want to be a Jedi. I want to be a super hero. I don’t want to play a cover and shoot Star Wars. I don’t want to play uncharted. I want to play Star Wars. The Jedi series was very good

AC Shadows looks ok I guess. I think I’d rather try it through Ubisoft+ for $15/month instead of buying it, but I’m really eager to see AC Hex. A witch trial AC game sounds amazing if they do it right. Fingers crossed.
I stopped playing Assassins Creed with Valhalla. I was enjoying the start of the game, thought I though the pacing was glacial, but when the game switched to a very poorly thought out Valhalla with even worse thought out gods, I stopped playing and never went back. If I could skip all of the Valhalla parts I'd likely try again, but it was dreadful. On the other hand, I am very excited about Tales of the Shire. There is just something about relaxing with a cozy sim game after hours of slashing/gun-play in the apocalypse/alien world/past that is so relaxing.
I couldn't even get into Valhalla. I played all the games up to Valhalla. Preferred the original games to the newer, but I did like Origins, and I loved Oddessy. The world and characters of Valhalla really didn't pull me in at all.

I will say tho, AC Shadows HUD looks a lot like Ghost Of Tsushima’s. From GoTs weapons slots and ability icons. It’s hard to not compare the two.

Ngl Outlaws looks to be what Starfield didn't quite achieve. Vibe and tone aside, SWO just looks to hit that space-element-based immersion better.

My issue with Star Wars outlaws is that I don’t play Star Wars to be a regular person with a blaster. I want to be a Jedi. I want to be a super hero. I don’t want to play a cover and shoot Star Wars. I don’t want to play uncharted. I want to play Star Wars. The Jedi series was very good

AC Shadows looks ok I guess. I think I’d rather try it through Ubisoft+ for $15/month instead of buying it, but I’m really eager to see AC Hex. A witch trial AC game sounds amazing if they do it right. Fingers crossed.

I hope Outlaws is good, I NEED a great star wars open world game
I stopped playing Assassins Creed with Valhalla. I was enjoying the start of the game, thought I though the pacing was glacial, but when the game switched to a very poorly thought out Valhalla with even worse thought out gods, I stopped playing and never went back. If I could skip all of the Valhalla parts I'd likely try again, but it was dreadful. On the other hand, I am very excited about Tales of the Shire. There is just something about relaxing with a cozy sim game after hours of slashing/gun-play in the apocalypse/alien world/past that is so relaxing.
I couldn't even get into Valhalla. I played all the games up to Valhalla. Preferred the original games to the newer, but I did like Origins, and I loved Oddessy. The world and characters of Valhalla really didn't pull me in at all.

After mainlining AC Mirage this past week, I'm hyped for Shadows and meh on Outlaws. The Star Wars: Jedi games didn't hit with me.
I’ve had my eye on Skate Story since it was first announced, so I’m glad to hear you liked what you got to play; hearing you describe Outlaws makes it seem like a AC: Black Flag but Star Wars with the occasional Uncharted shootout which I’m absolutely down with, I was also wondering how the traversal/moment to moment gameplay holds up compared to Jedi Survivor
