  • We've managed to get our grubby mitts on one of the very first test-shots of the new 1/48 F-16 coming out from Kinetic and we're here to give you our first impressions of the kit.
A very big thank you to Raymond at Kinetic for providing this sample.

It would appear the options shown with the intakes and exhaust indicate this can also be built as an F-16 Block 30 with the big mouth intakes and F110 engine.

Unfortunately no separated slats and also a lot of work for the intakes.
Why not a darker glass canopy.
Thank you for sharing, but this one was high to my list, but now I'm not sure anymore....

Plenty of mistakes on this one, it's hard to understand this on a 2022 new tool kit. Definitely out of my pending list. Thanks for the video.

Sadly I have to agree… The Hasegawa kit is an F-16A with C parts added, this one is an F-16C with A parts added… I guess kinetic wants you to cut off parts to backdate it to a proper A version, examples of this are the bird slicers in front of the canopy, the beer cans at the wings LE and the small bulges at the wing roots which are only correct for Block 50 and up. The parabrake housing is different for Belgian, Dutch and Norwegian birds alone. I wonder what Kinetic wants us to do to build a Block 52+ as used by Greece, Poland, Morocco, etc… Highly anticipated, yet failing to meet expectations…

@@patrickhagelstein1810 At this point I only hope that they can release a block 50+ double seaters w/ sniper pod considering Tamiya’s reluctance in releasing one.

@@alzy1337 If building a Block 52+, this should fit the bill. Thing is, as a Dutchman, I want to build an accurate MLU bird, but that takes as much work as converting a Tamiya Thunderbird kit. So, no benefit in using a softer molded Kinetic kit.

Again, no separate LEFs again, so you can’t set the -2 degrees at rest. There’s questions about the MLG. Among other things. We all understand these are texts shots, but there is room for improvement.
