Great video I really enjoyed it, I was wondering where this was filmed, by Lewiston ID ?My dad and I are thinking about moving up there and were just trying to find out a little more of what its like. Also we noticed the gun on your friends hip, where Im from in Los Angeles that would be crazy to have lol, is that for bears up there ? Anyways great video Im definitely subscribing !
Thanks, Debby! These are my cousin's rod holders. I believe he said that he was just given to him by another person. I don't think these are a product currently selling in the market.
Thanks Samong. My husband starting to fish for sturgeon now because of your vids. We live in Tri Cities. Ice harbor dam is closest to us....probably start there. Were banking it. No boat. Great quality vids BTW
Lol since you had the camera rolling, i say you landed it... if there was no camera and you said the old "the fish was huge but got away before i could get it out" i would not have been landed.. You landed it!
From my understanding, crappies are not bait fish and it's illegal to use them as bait. Even catching them in cast net, we still have to throw them back. Idk maybe you're state have different regulations
Hey man I’ve been following all your videos! Been hoping to land a monster down below the mcnary dam but my spinner reel doesn’t hold up against the big boys. I know you have a shamano reel... could you recommend which one I should get?
FYI Mav sent me. Enjoyed yours & his coloration video. Being that all you are doing is "Catch n' Release" That was perfect on both ends of the spectrum. Have fun.
It broke off so it’s not consider a land If the hook popped off then it’s consider a good release hahaha Good shit tho bro We fish a lot here in Cali too Maybe one day I can come fish wid ya
Bad set up for sturgeon should have a free sliding weight so if u do break off that weight still not attached just because u use barbless hooks doesn't mean they wont swallow it far down
If I was fishing with you guys I would be collecting a lot of that wood for my aquarium 😂👍. And good advice about tying up your rod and reel I've seen an old guy put down his rod and reel in Alaska to unhook the salmon and the salmon took off with it so fast he couldn't even grab it. 😂 Funny to watch if it wasn't your rod and reel.
You're trying to get your rod out of the water? Your rod already out of the water. It never touch the water. You mean you're gonna get your line off the water.
You need a 15ft rod you'll be able to keep your line from getting fraded on the rocks allot less. From my experience weigh fishing for sturgeon I've encountered multiple drop offs like you guys did but rarely get my lines chewed up cause I'm using a 15ft rod.
I watch alot of ur video, most time u guys broke off, even though its bardless hook. Still hurts the fish and if they swallow deep, doesn’t come off easy. Should start using 65 lbs braid. Still nice video
You should not have taken over his rod, let him lose it. I know you were trying to help him but it makes you look bad whether or not it was your fault or not!
I hope thats not in Idaho, that rigging would be illegal and someone needs to teach you guys how to fish. If you need help i can show y'all what you're doin wrong
This is Washington as the video said. We are no experts, just some guys who enjoy going out sturgeon fishing. I'm always down to learn from others. Feel free to share.
I appreciate the output of content and I fish every day, but something about catch and release of these beautiful ancients bothers me. It's putting stress and leaving hooks in a creature far more majestic than a bald eagle for nothing more than casual enjoyment. I support you but not in this.
samong, you're making it so hard on you.. you should just go and buy a swivel hook latch for couple of dollars instead of tie and untie your string to secure your pole.. just get a hook latch and click it to your pole and tied the other end to a stump or whatever, so it would be less work when you're setting a fish and has to untie it. i considered that a landed fish.
Samong is what fishing is about. Excellent channel and even better dude.
That was a perfect Landing job to me you've done an awesome job
Yep Lake Roosevelt has some monster sturgeon in it up by Fort Spokane😮
Going here this weekend
That is a landed fish for sure....
Landed fish YES
I could make out the reel you were using.....how about the maker and specs of your fishing rod? Great video, Thanks
yes you landed that fish
You guys know how to fight fish unlike some people who treat a reel like a winch.
If you get it the shore and you can touch it's landing it.
How did you extend your pole end? Thanks
We can't used crappie or bluegill for any fish in California
What Dam did you have to wait for crossing?
Your fishing is Mamammamamammamamiya
Keeping it real.
It's catch and release, you touched it so it counts.
What reel are you using -- Daiwa Saltist?
I have the Shimano Torium and a Daiwa Sealine.
@@SamongOutdoors Thanks for your channel. I enjoy it and learn much from your presentations.
Where did you fish for Crappie? Are you in Washington state?
you had the leader in your hand , it counts as landed
Looks like paradise!!
Landed
Always love watching your sturgeon videos!

Open carry is legal in Washington
love your videos Samong...hey where did get your rod holders? They look beefy !
Thanks, Debby! These are my cousin's rod holders. I believe he said that he was just given to him by another person. I don't think these are a product currently selling in the market.

Where do you go sturgeon fishing on the snake river?
PERFECT TIMING LETS GO SAMONG!
Fun stuff bud
If I touch the fish I consider it landed. That's just how I do it, but you did touch it so I consider that a landed sturgeon.
You need to flip the fish bully up. It puts it in a sleep and it’s much easier to handle.
Your video quality is so crisp, nice job.
Awesome video!
Awesome video keep the grind!!!💪🤙👍👌💯
That second book set was beast 😂😂😂
We were laughing so hard when we rewatched the video 🤣😂
Counts as a land if you touch the leader.
Nick needs a new holster for his pewpew. That Uncle Mike's ain't cutting it. LOL
I would say that's a land !!!! Good day of fishing boys!!!! I grew up fishing that section of the river ! It's a a special place for sure!
I'd say that first fish is a land. Counts! 👍
You got that first one dude nice video 👌👍
Wasn't a horrible day it seems at least you got some. Great video Samong I'm ready to see some hunting videos. Keep it up!!
pretty cool to be able to use heavy gear at a river to catch river monsters haha
That’s definitely a landed fish
Do you use the K2 frame and pack?
Yes, I'm using the 2018 K2 3500 system.
Time traveled from August back into May. Haha
Lol since you had the camera rolling, i say you landed it... if there was no camera and you said the old "the fish was huge but got away before i could get it out" i would not have been landed..
You landed it!
Just found your channel and damn it's refreshing! You're a badass too! Keep it up!
Bird's nest Sam. What a catch.
You ever hunt/fish western WA?
I have not hunted or fished the west side yet.
6:33 you must have been excited I can hear ur heart beat loud enough
Good video but why are you yanking on the line to pull it in? Appeared the fish swam off with hook, line, swivel, and lead hanging from its mouth.
Oh it’s not that big...🙄🙄🙄..that Yang fish is my body side 😂😂😂😂😂
Caught fish!!
From my understanding, crappies are not bait fish and it's illegal to use them as bait. Even catching them in cast net, we still have to throw them back. Idk maybe you're state have different regulations
different state has different regulations
yes counts as a land

That’s a land in my book.
Came over from Mav’s channel, new sub. I really enjoyed this.
We should meet up and fish dude. You on the WA or OR side?
I'm down I'm in Oregon
That counts as a landed fish. You touched it with your hand. Cool video again.
FYI Mav sent me. Enjoyed yours & his coloration video. Being that all you are doing is "Catch n' Release" That was perfect on both ends of the spectrum.

It broke off so it’s not consider a land
If the hook popped off then it’s consider a good release hahaha
Good shit tho bro
We fish a lot here in Cali too
Maybe one day I can come fish wid ya
That's a good point!
Catch and cook sturgeon?
Probably won't happen this year.
at 6:20 you can hear your heart pounding with adrenaline.
If you held the fish and measured, that’s landing. But that’s my theory lol
Bad set up for sturgeon should have a free sliding weight so if u do break off that weight still not attached just because u use barbless hooks doesn't mean they wont swallow it far down
Landed. For sure.
Wait how you go from August back to may lol
If you touched the fish I’d count it as a land good job bro really enjoy your videos
What lake was that?
Its a land because you don't want to pull it out the water.
Pas ntes yws
You're trying to get your rod out of the water? Your rod already out of the water. It never touch the water. You mean you're gonna get your line off the water.
Its good count it
You needa go braid with the carolina rig... coming from a cali sturgeon fisherman..
“LANDED” ? YES!! DEFINITELY!!!
WHY?? CAUSE ITS CATCH AND RELEASE ONLY!!! YOU DID BOTH!!!
You need a 15ft rod you'll be able to keep your line from getting fraded on the rocks allot less. From my experience weigh fishing for sturgeon I've encountered multiple drop offs like you guys did but rarely get my lines chewed up cause I'm using a 15ft rod.
Is ur first name chris?
Nope, my name is Samong.
THATS LANDED EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK.
Why not use Braid
Lack of abrasion resistance.
Hey bro just seen you on Mav’s channel.
I heard some body speaking Viet
I watch alot of ur video, most time u guys broke off, even though its bardless hook. Still hurts the fish and if they swallow deep, doesn’t come off easy. Should start using 65 lbs braid. Still nice video
Not landing the fish. Land a fish means you have total control of the fish. You didn't.
That's a land. Actually a pretty perfect land and release.
You should not have taken over his rod, let him lose it. I know you were trying to help him but it makes you look bad whether or not it was your fault or not!
First fish was not a land... the second fish snagged.... the Last fish was LANDED
You guys land it... plus its a quick release
Yes, you are the bad luck what you need to do is let people fester on fish. If it was my fish trust me I would’ve slapped you that would happen.😮
Bro I’m from my wound love to take my family camping there is there a camp ground? I would appreciate some info brother ty..
Why not grab the fish by the tail after snapping off 😒
I hope thats not in Idaho, that rigging would be illegal and someone needs to teach you guys how to fish. If you need help i can show y'all what you're doin wrong

@@SamongOutdoors man i was worried for a min. I was gonna offer to meet up but bein in Washington that would be a long trip

I was subbed before u even reached 1000 subs, and you only have 5.6k subs you are the most underrated Hmong you tuber you should get more subs
Sala bander jea...
Seems you guys are in Idaho often. You ever come across racists there?
Everyone I've met in Idaho have been nothing but kind and respectful.
Good to hear.
You need braid...
