Nothing seems to be missing from the 2009 trailer in the final game. The only real difference I noticed is in the final game, the kid doesn't have anything on his feet and he wears sandals in the 2009 trailer. The Project Trico trailer is clearly not for the same target platform, though.
Thats because DNF one of the biggest problem during development was engine changes and the second was that the lead wanted mechanics and settings from other games while in developmenting which kept pushing it.
Tenzing Khedup I learned why FF15 failed and that's because it wasn't in development for 10 years, it was in development for 3 to 5 years. The reason why that is is because FF15 was originally Final Fantasy 13 Versus but that was scrapped by Tabata who didn't work on FF 13 Versus. FF15 was under developed because Square Enix (the publisher) forced them to release FF15 before 2017. It was either that or the game gets canned and Tabata possibly fired.
i hate when game developers make games for ps only i really want to play it but, i rather wait until someone make a pirate version of the game, so i can download the ps4 emulator and play it, i know it's illegal but, where i live a lot of people do that, it's only crime here when you sell it, i'm not buying a ps4 only to play the game
People don't understand. The reason why the character has bright looking skin in the final version is because it's the art design, also the same affect appeared in the previous games (ICO< Shadow of the Colossus).
This game is considered revolutionary today, as it would have been back then. That's the mark of a timeless wonder. Such art comes along once in a blue moon.
I think i liked the design of the "old" trico better, i liked the dark horns and feet. Plus its face was a lil fluffier and it looks a bit more cat-like to me. But i still love both designs and im super happy with how the game turned out in the end :)
I am glad that the game developers skipped a console to bring the game out on the PS4. Saying that I would have got it for the PS3 if it had been released on that console. The Last Guardian looks stunning! Release date is 9th December unless it is delayed again.
More than likely that was the point. Think back to Ico and shadow of the colossus. I think they thought they'd be keeping with a theme by rendering out the character models that way.

Everyone expects the creature to die, but as Fumito Ueda said in a interveiw, he wanted to surprise people with the ending and the way everthing unfolds. I don't think the creature will die. I hope something more exciting happens as he stated in the interveiw.
Thanks for this, I've never seen either trailer until now. Interesting to see all the progress & changes from what must have been early builds. Now even more changes that were seen in the PS4 build. A collectors edition of the game detailing the journey would be great.
Boot Gaming They didn't delay it, It was very large and incredible game and took lots of code and the creators put so much detail into it. Therefore, this game took about 7 years to create, cool, isn't it?
Now that we know Trico has a Plapatine tail that can shoot out lightning, it seems more appropriate that his tail would be featherless. Maybe it becomes that way as you use the weapon more often. I think it's safe to assume that Trico's appearance will change as you progress further into the game.
It's quite obvious that Trico will die, but you never know. I would guess it too, likely that the title is reference to Trico, but maybe the story displays that when Trico dies, the boy must grow up, face the problems on his own, and become the Last Guardian. This is storytelling 101. Team Ico somewhat touched on this in Shadow of the Colossus when we thought the horse died.
It is by the same creators, which is Team ICO. The video here is a comparison of Trico and The last guardian's trailers. Project Trico was basically the idea, concept, and prototype/beta of The Last Guardian. Shadow of the colossus also had a prototype/beta called Nico. You can find a video of Nico here on youtube. I hoped this cleared things up. :)

Things I had noted were the kid in the test version looked only about 8 or so, whereas the newer one looks maybe 12-14 (like Ico). The guard in the test looked more ragdoll when struck, the new one seems almost like an animated statue (a theory I've had) brought to life, thus why it doesn't 'react' Yes, the temple seemed more "Aztec" inspired in the original trailer, now it's more traditional ruins, not unlike the Queen's castle.
Epickisame : Ico is the name of the boy that we play in ... well, ICO ^^, NICO means "next ICO", Trico can mean "tri" an "ICO" (third project of the team ICO) and in japanese, toriko means prisoners (the creature seams to be a prisoner in the beginning)
Ooooh! That's the OLD trailer. I watched a trailer that had the new one first, then showed the older one. I thought the older trailer was a flashback, showing how Trico (the creature) had done all of those things with a DIFFERENT boy, in the past before the city was ruined.
it would be a twist if the tragic ending (and we all know it's coming) is that the boy dies saving Trico. The boy is the last guardian not Trico. The final coda could be a giant and ancient Trico protecting his grandchildren from hordes of humans remembering that not all of them are monsters.

Gamestop still wont take preorders but, this could mean one of two things. 1- It could mean that the game really is still going or 2- it could mean that it has been cancelled and that is why it wasn't at e3, sony just wants to reveal that info themselves. The latter is more likely.

I have been, I have a preordered mine from amazon, we don't have gamestop in the UK. It is not cancelled, Grand Theft Auto V wasn't at E3 doesn't mean that's cancelled.

This game is the reason I bought PS3. It's been so many years, I can barely handle the wait! I'm sure it'll worth it though, just like ICO and SotC did!!!!
I don't like how they have removed all colour. I didn't complain about the lack of colour in Shadow of the Colossus, because the PS2 had problems with texture memory and so I assumed that was the reason. Besides, it was part of the storytelling(paler hero, desert landscape). This time I expected far more colour though. And still they have sucked all the colour out of it. I still expect The Last Guardian to be a revelation like the past two games were, but now it'll be a revelation in...gray.

the last guardian is absolute a fucking masterpiece, the command are a little bit awkward but...oh my god I love that game
When you compare them it makes Project Trico look like a crappy rip-off.

beutiful game, i played on a standerd ps4 and not one problem, glitch or lag, just the sheer atmosphere and bond in this game is a must have

First boy looks better, and more unique. The other boy looks good too but he just makes me think of Aang.
Considering that Aang is based on the same cultures The Boy comes from, I would hope there would be some similarities between them.

So The Last Guardian is a remaster/remake of the game Trico? Just like Shadow of the Colossus PS2/PS3/PS4? I never knew that 🤔
Parzival no. It’s the same game, it just took them 9 years to make and so graphics were upgraded when they moved to PS4

No the original trailer shown at I thing TGS in 2009 but this game was held back and will come out this year on the 25th of October.

I don't like how they have removed all colour. I didn't complain about the lack of colour in Shadow of the Colossus, because the PS2 had problems with texture memory and so I assumed that was the reason. Besides, it was part of the storytelling(paler hero, desert landscape).
This time I expected far more colour though. And still they have sucked all the colour out of it. I still expect The Last Guardian to be a revelation like the past two games were, but now it'll be a revelation in...gray.
I hope they push the PS3s capabilities with this game. It looks amazing. I can't wait.
