For anyone interested, a great view of Icon Park and its Ferris wheel at 21:00 and Universal Orlando Resort at 21:30. Great views all lit up at night!

very nice video Peter.Great details about that go around. These things happen daily at the airports due to weather or traffic mostly.I had a go around once in an A300 while we were landing in Rome Fiumicino airport for the same reason like yours.Cheers

Hello Peter. LOVE ❤️ ur videos. Did you ever find out the explanation as to why the Spirit airlines ahead of you insisted using 18R instead of 17L??

I’d assume it’s because 18R is closer to Spirit’s gate.

I wonder how much that go around ended up costing Southwest. Fuel, etc

Pretty rude of the Spirit aircraft not to clear the runway in time knowing you were behind him.

I’m not so sure it’s his fault or the fact that the turnoffs are spaced very far apart.

Why the music during landing? I would much rather hear the plane during landing if I want to hear music I will turn on the radio instead of watching the video

The flight was full of screaming children. Very often I mask the airplane sounds with music and voiceovers because there is so much talking going on inside the plane. For one video I made, I specifically sat next to the engine to capture engine sounds but all I could hear on the video was an in depth conversation of the passengers behind me. I did not use the audio from the flight because all you would hear would be people talking about their favorite restaurants.

Praise be to Allah the Capitan was able to land the aircraft safely and save all the lives of the passengers in such a dangerous situation in such an old airplane at night when you can't see the airplane in front of you so you go up again risking stalling the engines!!!

No offense Gavin but this was not such a dramatic situation as you might think and nobody was placed in additional danger beyond the normal risks of flying, which are reassuringly quite low. You can take comfort in the fact that the unexpected flight delay was handled safely, properly and as quickly as possible. However, prayers of thanks for a good outcome are never inappropriate!
