@@freeclimb5487 honestly you might be right. It’s getting pretty old seeing so many people saying Michigan’s win over OSU was a fluke. I think Michigan’s D line is just that insanely good.
@ they just held the #6 scoring offense of OSU to 10 points and the #25 scoring offense of Bama to 13 points. They were averaging 36.4 and 33.8 ppg respectively. They also held the #2 scoring offense of Indiana to 20 points which is about half of what they were averaging. It’s not at all outlandish to suggest their defense could keep them in against anyone in the nation. 🤦🏻♂️
The defense was the best its been since Jeremy Pruitt's last year in 2017. The offensive scheme was getting receivers open in this game and also every other game this season. Bama is a QB away from being in the playoff next year, and we'll find out if Ty Simpson, Austin Mack, or Keelon Russell can be that guy.
I do agree that WRs were open, the broadcasters did a good job of pointing that out. It’s just hard when you get hit so many times and pressured on 50% of your passes, few QBs can see the field well when under that type of distress
They gave up 15 points to none of them... ohio scored 10, should have only been 3 or 6, given smith had to blatantly push off to get open for the lone TD, Alabama scored 13.
Milroe wasn't seeing anything down field also because he was super worried about that Michigan pass rush the OL was horrible for Bama. I'm so excited about the way our DLine looked even without 3 of 4 starters all potential 1st round picks
A very smart man once said "the best way to have a bad take in sports is to look at too small of a sample size". DeBoer just got there and it's way too soon to make any meaningful judgement. Bama had one glaring problem - really bad QB play. Can't win like that. Bama fans have unrealistic standards. But most knowledgeable Bama fans understand this was a transition year and DeBoer didn't have the right QB to run his system. We also understand if DeBoer fails, he'll be replaced. DeBoer understands that as well. Bama will be fine one way or the other.
Saban was great in college, he also had the talent advantage most years because he was stacking 5 star players, plus the BCS format aided in keeping Bama from playing the best teams every year. Yr 1 of the 4 team playoff proved that. NIL and portal has changed that, and we will not likely see one school dominate like that again.
I love how people talk about the Nick Saban era as if it was the entire history of Alabama football as if they don’t have plenty of years of being mediocre at best
Hopefully he can get his kind of players he needs like he had it washington if not, he’s through when you’re offense pass oriented, and you cannot throw the ball you can’t run it either. You see what happen when he could pass the ball down the field they had a good running game when they shut his passing down they did was pin the ears back and go. They couldn’t run the ball.
I've heard this argument before when a dude named Kirby Smart inherited a 10-3 Georgia Bulldog team only to go 8-5 and lose to Vanderbilt, Georgia Tech, and Ole Miss 45-14. Calm down 😂
also while he didn't have quite the talent that this team does, Saban's first year at Bama he went 7-6 and lost to LOUISIANA MONROE. So yes, people need to calm down
NIL and expanded Playoffs retired Saban. Stock pile players by paying under the table. Build a conference biased narrative and keep the playoffs limited.
Michigan beating Bama on a neutral field minus five all americans, an all big 10 RB & OT + a starting FS is proof that what happened thanksgiving Saturday in Columbus was not fluke! Sherrone Moore is the real deal! He realizes that the culture he has built in Ann Arbor has his kids believing that as long as they play “THEIR GAME” they can beat anybody! Michigan has no fear of an ugly game. Martingale has adjusted his scheme to suit the strengths of the talent on hand & the kids have fully responded. Add Chip Lindsey to an offense that now has two dynamic QBs & the best RB room in the B1G…WOLVERINES COMING in ‘25!
Alabama sucked for twenty years just like Georgia, and the playing field is more level so no one team will dominate the way Bama did the last 15yrs because of NIL and the portal.
Milroe was Michigan's biggest weapon.

Twice
I don’t really care about beginning or end of season ranking but there are not 25 teams better than Michigan rn.
Right now, Michigan could win the Natty on their defense alone. The last 14 quarters are not a fluke. Give them an ok QB and they are in the playoffs.

As an LSU fan I have literally no idea how we got blown out by this team, we really could do nothing against running QB’s.

It’s awesome. This alone is why I watch!!!
Maybe try pronouncing it as Mil-ray Charles as he can’t read a coverage to save his life, wonderful young man and wish all the best
