Man I have had such a hard time sandcasting. This sir is absolutely genius. By far the best way I've ever seen. And that ring was beautiful. I have a feeling though it's one of those things u see on TH-cam and it looks easy until you try it lol
@@Silverhand.. I'm bout to try again. I got it all set up. So far this has been the best mold I've ever made sand casting. Now I gotta wait till my girl falls asleep before I melt. We lice in an apartment n she will kill me if she sees me with an oxy propane torch on the balcony. Lol i accidently caught the ladies porch under us on fire weldinb before. I have a kiln but I'm doing a wax burnout atm. N plus I don't feel like waiting an hour for my silver to melt lol. I gotta rosebud tip on'er so It'll have to be a quick cast lol. Wish me luck. I'm casting a gigantic signet. When it's done I bet it's anywhere from 30 to 40 gram ring lol
I have really complicated model to cast, i think 'lost wax' is the best for detailed model, the only problem for me is the lost wax is too expensive for me, maybe u can recomended me some low budget casting methode that i can follow
I noticed you didn't use a hammer, to compact the clay. I though that was required, to get the clay nice and smooth. Anyways, I just recently started sandcasting. When I pound the delft clay into the mold with a hammer, the clay "splits" and it's not where I'm hammering. I'm putting some decent pressure when hammering, but I'm not "bashing" it. Do you have any idea what could be wrong? It did that too, the first time opened up the bag of clay. Thanks.
@@Silverhand.. on a sivert torch you can control the flame buddy you have 2 regulators to boost flame 🔥 or get blue like mentioned Only thing it’s very strong
what’s the polishing tool you used?
hanging drill With polishing Rubber from 120 to 1500 grid
Very nice tutorial. Love how you show each step. Congrats on your first try, came out awesome!

Why didn't you just turn over the 1st part of the mold? It's as smooth as you can get!
