- In the 21st Party Congress of CPI-M, Mr. Sitaram Yechury was chosen as the party’s General Secretary succeeding Prakash Karat who was in the post for the past 10 years.
The Left party has got a new leadership with Yechury at the helm. Along with the new responsibilities, Yechury faces big challenges ahead which have rather grown in the past few years. From overcoming the flagging electoral position to the task of remaining relevant in the present political dynamics, it is now to be seen how CPI-M would steer from here.
