    Today only a few 50s are still in service as of now and some can still be seen on the mainline

      @@d412video2 most welcome I recall in around the late 90s D400 visiting at a open day at thornaby depot on teeside apparently it came down to teeside under it's own power and around 2006 I think there abouts or perhaps 2008 D400 also passed northbound through Darlington county Durham on a railtour it' was on the rear and D9000 Royal Scots Grey was on the front I can't recall the railtour perhaps it was a empty stock working

    Great video! I wish I had been a bit older and travelled about more to see the 50’s in action … but great to see videos such as this as it’s the next best thing! Many thanks for uploading 👍

    In my opinion a '50' at full throttle sounds even better than a Deltic. Controversial I know but growing up in Reading during their heyday I saw far more of them and they'll always be a favourite.

    Having seen in the video the two Class 50 locos at Glasgow Central, I wonder if they actually were paired in service before the West Coast Main Line was electrified.....

    That was some impressive clag from the HST powering up leaving Exeter! Interesting that both power cars of the HST were under power, so perhaps an AWS problem. Impressive power to weight ratio there.

    • @d412video2
      @d412video2  ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheers. Yes, both power cars working, suggesting something else, although 50031 still putting a good contribution in nonetheless!

      @@d412video2 perhaps one of the power cars was being intermittent in regards to the engine, which you'd get away with North of Exeter......

      Probably not AWS as you could legally isolate and continue in passenger service. (Until Southall accident happened and it became an automatic ‘failure’.)
