    Great work mate and fantastic prep work 👍🏻👍🏻. New clip pliers game changer. You need a pop up gazebo mate 👍🏻

    Great video. Audi quoted me 5 hr work. I’d say it would take me the same, plus a lot of swearing. I think I’ll let Audi do it.

    Bin there, little piece of advice don't under estimate yourself, you will be surprised what you can do when you have too?
    Like my old Dad use to say these things are sent to test you and for what its worth I thought you did a bloody good job.
    Cheers😁

      Thanks mate, I didn’t do bad tbh least the job was done and the car is fixed

    When I had my water pump replaced they basically took off the whole front end (bumper, radiators, intercooler) and doing it that way you have access to be able to replace the belt

      @H19XNS  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Seems abit overkill for that 😂 my belt was fine so no need to replace it

    Hi Andrew. I have a 2016 2L petrol mk3, i get a squeaking sound (getting progressively louder) every 2seconds in a cycle and continuous buzz after car shutsdown for around 2min after a drive. Sounds seems to come from water pump area, Does this car have a aux water pump, or is it built into main pump, is it hidden, cant find mine. Sounds ridiculous when walking away. Thanks

      Hi mate I would like to help you but honestly I ain’t got a clue, I wing most the stuff I do 😂 how many miles is the car on and has it ever had the water pump done?

      @@H19XNS No problem mate. Got 100k km, water pump not done. was just trying to see if it had a auxillary water pump.

      There is a belt that runs the pump on the front of the engine that’s the one I changed if that helps

    nice job!! despite the cuts and bruises! how long did it take including your prep work? looks like a lot of labour figures why shops charge so much, shame audI designed placement like that for a such a perishable item. is that an aftermarket water pump as read on forums they're more robust than the OEM? cheers.

      It’s a genuine water pump and took me a while tbh about 2 hours to get it out and same putting it back in maybe little longer

    nice luckily i bought my mk1 at 75k mileage and the guy i bought it from was a military nuclear scientist and he replaced the water pump with the timing belt kit at 70k miles or sooner. I think most people say to change timing belt at the same time. I have come to notice a lot of people on the car sales websites try to sell german cars right before this service is needed around 70k miles for water pump/timing belt replacement, so they sell it to someone who most likely never owned a german car and doesn't know this service is needed. and if you buy an older model it might cost more to change then you paid for the car lol

    Hey Andrew, I have a 2015 2.0 petrol currently at 73k miles, what symptoms did you get with yours that made you think you had a failing pump/thermostat? Just curious what to watch out for really.

    • @H19XNS
      @H19XNS  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I didn’t have a failing pump or thermostat mate they are known for leaking between the plastic housing and the metal pump, when they do you will loose coolant and can see residue where it leaks from, normally starts off slow but gets worse. People say to change the gasket but for the amount of work it takes getting it out everyone replaces the whole thing
