It was irresponsible for you to teach people to use food grade steel cans as pan
Steel cans can be coated with various chemicals and substances, some of which can be harmful when heated. Here are a few examples and their purposes:
1. **Bisphenol A (BPA):** BPA is a chemical often used in the lining of canned food containers to prevent corrosion and contamination. It can be harmful when ingested in high quantities and has been associated with health concerns, including hormone disruption.
2. **Epoxy Resins:** These are used to coat the interior of cans to create a barrier between the can and the food. When heated, epoxy resins can break down and release chemicals that may be harmful.
3. **Phthalates:** Some can linings may contain phthalates, which are plasticizers used to make the lining more flexible. When exposed to heat, phthalates can migrate into the food, and certain phthalates are associated with health risks.
4. **Polymer Coatings:** Steel cans may have polymer coatings to protect against rust. If heated, these coatings can emit fumes that are potentially harmful.
These chemicals serve the purpose of preserving the contents of the can, preventing contamination, and protecting the can itself from corrosion. However, when cans are used for purposes other than their intended storage of non-heated items, these chemicals can become a health concern if released through heating. It's always best to use cookware and stoves designed for cooking to ensure safety.
Aluminum cans are even worse
@@drsatan7554 Very good information! But if you are lost in the woods, and hungry, a little BPA and epoxy would be a condiment. Just saying.
Do you know how hard it is to find bacon and eggs in the woods? It took me over 3 hours one time to find a bacon bush that only had 2 strips on it..
Have you tried with digging a hole? Most of the times works, you can even find sardine cans

Also a bottle of cooking oil!

You’re right 😆

Great survival tips. I always carry lighters, matches, eggs, sardine cans, knife, salt pepper, gloves, water bottles, tin cups, oil, ice picks and coke cans.
A schoolboy error. If you're not hiking with a full bottle of cooking oil wtf are you thinking?
And 12 knives.
😂
Never leave home without them.
You're so funny I'm un aliving here. You should be a comedian! 😉
The turning the plastic bottle is a great idea

The cattail-charcoal water filter is my favorite 👍 . Thanks!
Learned to cook on the can in Girl Scouts in 1955. Good to see it is still used. We camped in central FL. Found food, fished. We had fun. I can still do it.😊
That's amazing! It's fantastic to hear that you can still rock it today. Camping in central Florida sounds like quite the adventure, especially with the added fun of finding food and fishing. Keep those campfire culinary skills alive and sizzling!
Too bad they don't teach those things anymore in Girl Scouts. Now enrollment fee for boy scouts or girl scouts is outrageous, the cost is way up there. Parents just need to take quality time with their kids and teach them skills. It doesn't have to be 4H or scouts though it's nice!
I love this, although a few of these I think are too niche to see any use from me personally 😅
I enjoy the resin torch and cattail water filter the most, definitely keeping those in mind.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! It's true that some of these tricks might be quite niche, but I'm thrilled to hear that the resin torch and cattail water filter caught your eye. They can be quite handy in specific situations. Thanks for watching! 😄🔥🚰

Great crafting there my friend!
You will undoubtedly have saved some lives here, or at least made thier survival experience easier in the future. Some of your tricks are pretty neat. I'm pretty old, so a few of your creations opened my eye's and made me smile.

@@LastBushSurvival You have that correct sir. After I came back from overseas and was retired out of the US Army and given a disability pension, I didn't fit back in to society. I packed my back pack, and headed for the woods, rivers & mountains. I traveled to different areas, exploring into the wilderness. I'd spend weeks & weeks alone, camping in the woods.
I use to love making little things like you do. To make my little camps & hideaways more livable and unique.
Little things to make your campsites more comfortable and enjoyable.
You can invent and make all manner of things. I'm 72 now, I'm slowing down some, but I'm still making camps and playing around in the woods.
Happy wood crafting my friend.
😂😂😂😂👌👌👌
Ah yes, the ol' pine comb sap torch. Takes you 3 hours to make it, gives you 25 minutes of light. 😂
It took around 20 mins to make, just sharing some ideas that people may find useful
I actually have been in the woods at night without a light. And which side of made a torture ahead of time so that I would have that 20 minutes of light
Dont know why he didnt use the sap instead, can be easily melted then it can be used for heat, glue, bandaid.
@@davidrauch7896he did use the sap...for light.
If something this simple tak3s you 3 hours to make, that might just be a you problem. But also, with that attitude, you might as well not do anything, especially in nature. "3 hours collecting and splitting wood just for a bit of fire. Not worth." "All that walking all day and setting up camp just to sleep in the woods for a couple hours. Not worth."
Rocky just drank the eggs and didn't waste any eggs or energy. Plus his carbon footprint was a lot smaller. Who knew Rocky had the answers all along.
And steroids
uncooked food takes much longer to digest and consumes many more calories
@@ramsn1971I'd be more worried about cooking in cans with plastic liners 😂😂🤣
Carbon footprint 🙄. You wouldn't make it if we were put back to the very things that kept humanity ALIVE for thousands of years. Just saying. Also there are trees whose seeds would never grow if they weren't burned along with the old growth. Our "Carbon problem" is dwarfed by just 2 active volcanos constantly volcanos. Now there are more active and erupting than ever before. The Earth is going to go through it's natural cycles WITH or WITHOUT our minuscule assistance. It's a shame that education denied your the same information that many generations before was honestly taught. Oh and Taxing anything saved nothing ever. It just made the banks/ lobbyists richer and you poorer and poorer. Also EVERYTHING can be reduced to a carbon. Your yourself are comprised mostly of carbon. Your excrement, carbon based. All plants are carbon based. Your clothes, yep carbon. Your phone, absolutely carbon and it took carbon to make it. Electric car, charged by carbon sources. When thermal runaway happens. LOTS of carbon, and thermal runaway is a common recurring issue. Go learn real science.
I almost forgot the most important point. TREES can't make oxygen without CO2. Did I mention we exhale CO2? If you really want to reduce CO2 why not just plant plants and trees? We're cutting them down way faster than they are replanted and allowed to mature. Fun fact, 1 stalk of Hemp/Cannabis sequests 3x the CO2 in a week than a single tree does in a whole year. Plus it grows way faster, through more climates zones and seasons. So it's basically replenishable with. HUGE pool of uses and applications. Maybe legalizing it wouldn't be such a bad thing?
Just wow. Best no bull vid I've ever seen.

Don't know where or which woods or forest you'd find a bacon and egg bush, but there are some great ideas on what you can try and do while you're waiting for someone to find you.
I thought I'd found a bacon tree but when I started taking rashers off it, a guy jumped out and attacked me, completely taking me by surprise.
That's when I realised...it wasn't a bacon tree, it was a ham bush.

What a wild survival coincidences that you have the right supplies. But what happens if I forget to bring sardines or I accidentally crack my one egg before I can use it as a fire pit?
Just be creative
Then make a pocket rocket and next time carry your eggs packed in straw
At summer camp one year with the Scout Troop, one of the first year Scouts is cutting the bottom off of a 2 liter bottle. I watched as he gathered sand, small gravel/stones and charcoal from the fire pits. I asked “ [Name redacted] what are you doing?” To which he responded, “Making a water filter”. Sure enough, he put it together, filtered water out of the stream by our camp, older Scouts drank it and no one got sick. The cattail filter reminded me of that.
Nice Tips !! 🙌

It’s a survival AT THE MOMENT maybe a short time when you’re desperate & need strength waiting or to relocate to another place. When & if the SHTF we’ll see who’s speaking on how bad these ideas are as you’re starving to death while others live to see another day that no one is promised according to the “Good Book” waiting on “mana from heaven”! Funny how everyone knows better until they’re tested!

You don't really need oil if you already have bacon.
Also pouring molten pitch over fire looks a bit dangerous.
I like the battery with charchol idea if it works, but you can stop draining battery once you get the ember.

Making fire into the ground and leaving it there is not the best idea, you should’ve shown that you used water and or covered the fireplace with dirt after you’re done to at least make it less likely to cause a forest fire..
