I hate auto tune, but the way this song was assembled was actually pretty damn good.
Same. I've always hated autotune with a passion, but it sounds soothing and perfect with this song.

You need to check out Ryan Upchurch. When he rocks it is like Southern Alice N Chains, when he does country, it is like Blake Shelton, and when he raps it is like a southern Eminem.
Ryan Upchurch has charted in four genres and he does it all in one year.

Exactly, I've seen him live a few times, and you can definitely tell he is singing it, you can tell it's live.

I couldn't stand Kid Rock until I seen him live as the opening act for Metallica. He put on such a kick ass show, almost made Metallica seem anti climatic. He don't use auto tune live, just his regular God given vocals. Good stuff, thanks for reacting to him!
When this song was popular every drunk guy i knew with issues was obsessed with this song......and if there was a few of them at a party they would eventually cluster together somewhere, start playing this song, and start a group therapy session

You can find this live with not Autotune. He been singing it now for more then 2 decades. VERY POWERFUL! Remember that this was done before it was over used as a compensation tool.
I passionately hate autotune myself, but for some reason it sounds soothing and perfect with this song.
But maybe I'm a little biased since this was one of my favorite Kid Rock songs from my junior high days.

This song was released in 1998, the same year that auto tune being used in commercial release featuring auto tune with Cher's
Cher's comeback smash “Believe” in 1998 is recognized as the first commercial release featuring Auto-Tune. The same year this song by KR was released. It was just a quick hiring fad at the time. EVERYBODY had some auto tune it seemed like.

My best friend passed in 2005. This was one of his fav songs. Everytime I hear it, i think of him sitting in his chair belting out every lyric with his whole heart. He came from a family who abused drugs and he used to cry to me as kids, saying he didn't want to be like them. He did real good for many years, but ultimately lost that fight. Used for a bit. Then quit! Got his life together, until his baby mother decided to use his child as a weapon and told him he couldn't see him. He ran back to it, hurt, not knowing that the seller laced it. 1 more time became the last time 😪. God I miss him. This song is my fav by Kid Rock. Absolutely beautiful

Kid Rock was actually early in the autotune thing. He uses it as an effect as opposed to trying to fix a crappy voice. Listen to any live performance and you will see the difference. Man can sing and this and some of his other songs are about the lyrics.
