Cinderella’s “Don’t know what you’ve got til it’s gone” is another great ballad with the unbelievably distinct voice of Tom Keifer. I’m sure you’d both enjoy it. Great channel guys !!!
Too bad C.C. Deville couldn't play it live lol I seen Poison 3 times and he butchered it every single time, that guy is a hack. However, Vito and Nuno are legit players and everyone should check them out. Vito was so distinctly unique in his style and writing, it's a shame he walked away from music. Then there's Nuno, a guy that possesses super human abilities, one of the greatest players to ever pick up a guitar.
I think every night has its dawn to me means that everything moves on. This is a beautiful song, that seemed to cross a few genres. I heard this song played in country bars, rock bars and even in department stores. Thank you.
You know I still listen to these songs everyday, have since they come out in the 80's,just everyday music to me,yea I'm an 80's reject...but its so much fun to watch reactions to ppl hearing them for the first time..and of course lex her reactions are priceless.... Ill say it again she was born in wrong era,but she knows good music...good vibes...
Hahaha yes. We'd have loved to hang with her back then. She coulda brought Brad along as well. He'd been cool to vibe with while crusing to these songs.
Brett Michaels wrote this song after calling up his girlfriend and hearing another guy's voice in the background. You have to check out the official music video for Poison's Somethin' To Believe In. Brett wrote the song after finding out over Christmas that the band's bodyguard and good friend passed away. He was staying at his mom's and wrote about some of life's injustices. The video has a special part about his friend. Poison has lots of good time fun songs, but they also have many serious songs. All of their songs are relatable and written from the heart.
This song was about a real life experience Brett Michaels had. He thought a woman he was dating and cared about very much was exclusive, only to find she was cheating on him and chose the other guy. Heartbreak=great art.
@dmb1990 That is your opinion and it is a terrible one at that. "hair" bands offered us some of the best music we have today. Don't like Poison? Get off this video 💯
My very first concert was Poison! 🤟 I was in this video but the footage was from a different song lol. Got to check out 'I Wont Forget You', it's me and my man's song. We met when I was 13 & he was 14, we ended up together in the end.❤
One of my favorites by Poison and I’ve been through this like most people. It’s pretty much why anytime I hear this now it’s a struggle for me to not cry my heart out.
Thanks for the wonderful reaction to my fave band and fave song ever! The guitar rif to close it out is actually a chord he learned when he started playing guitar (Bret Michaels).
There was a period in the early 90’s where rock went to rock ballads. It was kinda cool at the time (especially if you were on the dating scene). Looking back on it now, the rock bands/producers were trying stay alive while rap and grunge was on the rise. This still is and always will be one of my favs. Great reaction!
We want to see you experience the whole song from time to time without commenting and then your review because it is awesome to see a song catch you and see your expressions. I know Lex has the music in her soul because she feels it so much.
Love Poison!! Brett wrote this song while on tour after calling home and having another man answer the phone. He thought it was to country for Poison, but the rest of the band luckily convinced him to record it. Unskinny Bop and Something To Believe In are a couple other good songs by them. Great reaction!! 🙂
This song is particularly close to me since I remember my dad used to play this song to me on guitar when I was a baby and a little kid and it's a very fond memory, I love your reaction to this song!
Being a old 80's hair band expert there was some really good power ballads that even ran into the early 90's . You guys would love any or all of the following: Mr. Big "To Be With You", Bad English "When I See You Smile", or even the Supergroup Damn Yankees "High Enough" featuring Tommy Shaw of Styx, Jack Blades of Night Ranger, and the Detroit Rocker Ted Nugent!!
Every time I hear the Chorus I am reminded of a poem I read in my British Lit class in High School. I don't remember the name nor who wrote it. But It was about how 2 lovers died. They were buried together, and on their grave grew the first rose. The beauty of the petals represented her, and thorns were him protecting that beauty. I wish I could find that poem.
Brett Michaels has a house in south county here in Arkansas. I've met some of his performers in his side band. Really good guys. I got em a tour of the Planter's Peanut Factory including taking their pics in front of the Mr. Peanut statue.
Lex...if you like guitar solos you HAVE to listen to Poison's song "Life Goes On". 100% one of the most underrated solos from that era. 10/10 you'll love it.
Check out Something to Believe In...killer song! And watch the video. Gotta watch all the official videos from the 80's...you're missing out. Bands put just as much money in their videos as they did the album back then....MTV was new they actually played videos 24/7.
@@JohnMiller-zn9pf You do know talk dirty to me was the song that put this band on the map right? Nothing but a good time, unskinny bop, ride the wind and of course every rose has its thorn are what made this band popular
@@JohnMiller-zn9pf twisted sister, KISS and AC/DC were around since 73 and didn’t get popular instantly, TS had to wait till 84 to become popular with we’re not gonna take it, KISS and AC/DC had to wait till 79 to become popular withI was made for loving you, and highway to hell respectively so what do you mean you had to wait till you got popular? Your reactions really help make the ending of a long workday a little bit better. I can remember having similar reactions to these songs when I heard them back when they came out. Since you guys are going down the power ballad rabbit hole you should check out Dokken's power ballads Alone Again and In My Dreams.
Interesting fact for you Slash originally tried out for Poison but after seeing how they were dressed he said it wasn’t for him and waked out and as he was walking out C.C. DeVille the lead guitarist of Poison was walking in to audition
the first song we learned on guitar in the 90's. like 4 total chords. simple but great song. you should listen to "Something to believe in". he wrote it for one of his best friends who was also a roadie i think it was, who committed suicide.
one of the best videos on youtube is of Bret Michaels singing this song on a show and after the song he comes back to take a second bow and the curtain that had a wooden frame dropped him on his ass and knocked that dam headband off his head very funny.
The dawn is the bad side to a good night for a lot of people. At night you can be with a lover or it’s time to be with your family and children, for the dawn brings “the daily grind” and the craziness and noise of work.
If no one has told you yet, all the guitar players from hair metal bands era started playing guitar by learning the blues first. It's a huge influence on the guitar players from the '80s.. The guitar player for poison CC DeVille is no exception. However their music does evolve. They have a lot of albums over a lot of years. Their last album I believe was in 2010
When you get a chance watch the official video of every rose has a thorn just want to let you know I was there when they filmed it back in the '80s it was awesome
Another *great* ballad is "Ride on" (Ac/DC). Smooth beat, wonderful guitar solo. You guys will love it. Guaranteed ! But please, from the "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" LP
Imho, some of their best work isn't usually aired. You had to buy the tape. (Well, for me it was tapes...then CD's) "Squealer" (the guitar solo is orgasmic), "Ain't No Fun", "She Got the Jack!", "Problem Child" EVERY song on their "Highway to Hell" album. Sigh....Good Times.
Duse... just wanted to point out that ballet is super skinny people in skin tight outfits dancing around in tutus... Ballads are the slower songs with a lot of heart felt emotion... no disrespect meant, just letting you know as a fellow metal bro... 🤘😉🤘
Might have to get Lex some ear buds so she can let go and head bang,, is difficult seeing her want to cut loose and her inner freak out while trying to keep them earphones on. lol,,, GODBless you Both for sharing the love here.
You're doing more Poison now that's what I'm talking about! Once you reach *Something To Believe In* off of their incredible 1990 album *Flesh & Blood* you will forever love Bret Michaels and their music.

I have been trying forever to get someone to listen to Cinderella. They are my absolute FAVORITE band. They sound as good live as the do recorded.
@@chrystiholt5273 Yeah, I'm from that era and always liked them. They were among the under-rated. Way, way WAY better than Poison.
I always liked the video for Cinderella song Nobody's fool.
I’ve been asking for Cinderella and Collective soul with no luck.
They reacted to don't know what you got (til it's gone) approximately 3 months ago....
"Every bad boy has a soft side"
- some ad for a CD collection of power ballads back in the day
I love Lex...she is all about the solo.... I can feel ya girl. The solo gets take your soul if the guitarist hits it right.
She needs to hear some White Lion. Vitto nails it.
A couple of Extreme songs with crazy riffs and solos by Nuno will surely impress Lex.

YES, and it has my favorite CC solo!!! :)

This is my favorite Poison song by far and I love the OFFICIAL video the band did for it! 😳
Hahaha what is this 😳 you crushing on Brett? Lol. Every girl was back then.
Ballad day on the Brad and Lex show..... All of them great choices

This really is one of the best rock ballads out there. The whole vibe

I got to see them in concert back in 2002 I believe. It was an awesome show, there were there with Warrent and Quiet Riot as their opening acts.
Shame both bands singers are now no longer with us.
Rock ballads are awesome!
Awesome song. I SO miss power ballads. No one does them anymore.
A couple bands have them, but not many. Try angels by another lost year
Again, the video is a must for this one
Brad will especially appreciate it
Seen this concert just before heading to basic training. Great times!!
I can't believe I use to cry to this song. Embarrassing. Sigh.
But this song and Chicago got me thru my very first heartbreak

I like in hot tub time machine when they go back to the 80's and poison is playing "talk dirty to me" at the ski resort
What I love about the 80's hair bands... they wrote and performed their own music.....
one of the best guitar parts i`ve ever heard, that feedback is sublime...
My favorite song by them... First song I learned in guitar... Acoustic... Keep up the good work guys. More, more, more
