My Baby Banter had CF scales with tweezers from Unlocked Composites. It's a fantastic small knife. My pocket carries change daily, but the Baby Banter is always in my EDC pouch, to use where my others may be unwelcome. You're correct on the detent - was snappy before I reassembled it with a little kpl... Now it would be in running for best action in my I collection. Thanks!
That's a perfect use for it. A great go-anywhere knife. Add the tweezers for a little versatility and it's easy to recommend. Thank you for taking the time to watch!
Good stuff! I have a standard baby banter all blacked out with a tritium thumb stud. I personally love it! It’s tiny yet I get four fingers on it with my L-XL sized hands. Yes it’s a little small, but it’s big at heart. I’ve had it for about a year and a half but it makes me want a We Banter too. The slabs don’t bother me at all
I like that description - "small but big at heart". While it might not have everything I'm personally looking for in a knife, it's going to be a great choice for a lot of people! It's a very easy knife to recommend.
Phenomenal video man. Very in depth, I have a civivi baby banter with carbon fiber scales with tweezers inside of it. I honestly haven’t used it too much, but I didn’t realize how not slicey it was.
Unlocked Composites? I also have carbon fiber scales that house tweezers on my Baby Banter, and I got mine from Unlocked Composites. I love the scales. The knife lives in my EDC pouch, and I use it in places where my other carries may draw unwanted attention - say, cutting my steak at a charity dinner held on school grounds.
I'm sure I could get a better edge out of it if I spent some time sharpening it, though I'd question whether I want to put the time for that into it when I've got other knives that already cut well. Unlocked Composites makes awesome scales! (I assume that's who made those CF scales you mentioned) Back when I was into Benchmades I had some of their Bugout scales. He's got a smart design eye.
@@CTKKnives honestly I just stropped my Baby Banter and it started slicing pretty dang well. I suggest you put some time into the edge because personally I don’t carry a knife unless it’s up to my sharpness standards.
@@wgkincheloe2458 it is from unlocked composites! Pretty nice set of scales for this thing. I bought the baby banter with them on it so I didn’t even know the brand until you just mentioned it. Thanks!
What can you say about the blade coating? I can’t decide whether to buy one with a red handle and without coating, like in your video. Or with a purple handle and a black coating on the blade? I really like both options, but which one is more practical?
I didn't use this one quite enough to really see how the blade coating holds up, but it's listed as a DLC coating, not PVD, and so it should hold up to pretty much anything you can throw at it except for bad scrapes and scratches. So it'll really come down to which aesthetic and blade shape you like better. Do you like the more aggressive look of the coated version, or the more friendly look of the red G10? Do you want a blade that's great for utility cuts like a wharncliffe, or one that is more versatile like a drop point? Both are good choices. Go with your gut. The coating on the blacked-out version should last. Hope that helps!
It IS very cool! www.spyderco.com/catalog/details/C28ZFGYBLBK2/2398 Exclusive to the Spyderco site, looks like it's out of stock but you can still find them kicking around the secondary market from time to time. I've almost-sold it half a dozen times because I don't USE it that much, but it's way too cool for me to ever actually part with it.

I was afraid of that, thanks for the info though!
