Best rendition ever!
This 33-year old Brazilian metal singer introduced me to metal. I'm a 70-year old gramma. I never listened to metal; it was a wall of sound without melody or lyrics to my ears. I opened this video when I was bored back in April about a week after it was released. I was crying at the end. This 250-year old hymn waited for this metal singer to develop his voice to the point he could deliver its message with the power that it demanded. I am now convinced that Archangels in Heaven sing metal. Someone in this commentary has already recommended his cover of "Black Wind, Fire and Steal" with Luis Mariucci. Also his band Fearless does an original work, they have a video; FEARLESS - Tale With No End (Official Music Video). Dan Vasc has well over 200 videos out there, most of them metal. Enjoy. (And yes I enjoy this powerful form of music now.)
My favorite metal song of all time is Painkiller by Judas Priest. It is boiled down what metal is about but done in such an over the top masterful way. Looping intertwining solos with halfords banshee like wails.

There are many varieties of metal music. As you sound like you might be a fellow Christian, I'd suggest Swedish Christian power metal band Narnia, they follow a similar style to (my compatriot) Dan's music. I suggest starting with the song "You're the Air that I Breathe".

I'm 72 and listened to his phenomenal rendition of Amazing Grace a week ago. Since then I've been devouring all his music.

That's what I thought too. OMG this guy will butcher my favorite hymn. Instead he introduced me to a style of music that was inaccessible to me before.
God is at work! I’ve heard amazing Grace over 1000 times but never like this. I am a sold-out Christian for Jesus Christ. And I love this version of amazing grace. The harmonica really gets me, too because my precious Granny played it beautifully. Two songs and I was totally hooked! My first was The Sound of Silence, but since I've heard just one version of that that I didn't like, I picked Toss A Coin To Your Witcher as my second ever Dan song, and only two lines in, I knew that I had found a very special, once in a lifetime singer. Dan has a "Vasc" catalogue of more than 200 songs. I see a lot of suggestions below, but rest assured Dan does not release junk. His collabs are fabulous and I understand that his band "Fearless" is about to drop its second album. Going to see Tommy Karevik and Kamelot? Have fun! I got to see them in 2019. I thought I did a pretty good job of singing along, but Tommy would occasionally throw in an extra vocal flourish that wasn’t on the albums, and I would literally choke trying to duplicate it.
I’ve only seen this one song by Vasik so far. Someone told me his Hallelujah Chorus is really amazing.
