I am almost 75 and about as traditional as they come. Not only did I fall in love with this song and Dan when I first heard it, but I now have a new admiration for metal music (which I hated before). Passion can outweigh tradition.

Was told to keep sharing, so I will continue to do so! This song saved my life. I was in a dark place and fate made this appear as a suggestion for me to watch. I hadn't sobbed that hard in a while. Dan made me feel less alone in this world and that I'm not alone in trying our best everyday as flawed human beings. I'm not religious, but it felt like God hugged my heart. I hope someday he happens upon one of my comments. If he does, I want him to know how thankful I am for him. As Dan says, have an epic day!

If I remember correctly this video was released on Good Friday 2023. And the harmonica, for me, adds a Celtic vibe. He makes the instrument sound nearly like bagpipes. I have been to a few Irish Catholic Churches where “Amazing Grace” is usually performed by bagpipes. The hymn means a lot to many people (religious or not) recovering from addiction who are in 12 Step programs. This cover is the best I have ever heard, and I am 62. I have heard some live metal..
So far I haven't seen anyone who doesn't love this! I am 65 and have never been into metal, but this song is so awesome, as is all his other songs.

Dan Vasc has got beautiful hair, dreamy eyes. He's handsome all over with an angelic voice & he knows how to give my whole body chills all over. He's the TOTAL package!!! I love how absolutely tender, raw & delicate he started the song even with the slight echo & with each verse exposing more talent & intensity. Interpretations of Gethsemane Jesus Christ Superstar and Nesum Dorma are outstanding. The whole Witcher series as well as its Disney and Phantom of the Opera covers are world class. The selection of songs is huge. e.g. B. Burn Butcher Burn", Mötley Crüe -" Kickstart My Heart, Dark Moor Cover "Cancion Del Pirata" he sings the song in Spanish.... So good ❤️. The church I go to now has contemporary music with a full band and would be completely open to this. The church I grew up in was straight up hymns sang without much enthusiasm. Most of the congregation much older people. I think this would have blown them off the pews 😂 I love it.

Vocal towards ending was metal. Song was written by a guy of how he changed his ways (converted). So far, every reaction video I've seen...not one person preferred traditional way over Vasc's version. ..folks were left speechless, shock and nothing less than "AMAZED". Keep up the great reactions. In the 4 months this has been out, there have been very few comments from people not liking this version. Definitely listen to some of his other music. His band is called Fearless, and they have some original music. I've seen some suggestions in the comments which are all great. He does several Elvis covers which are very personal to him. My favorites are the softer side of his music, such as Loch Lomond, Dawn Over A New World, and Scarborough Fair. He is from Brazil, and realized he wanted to be a singer when he was young. He trained extensively to be able to sing so many different styles. Thank you so much for doing this reaction. I've been listening to you for awhile now, and hadn't realized that you weren't introduced to Dan Vasc and his Vasc-nation of fans. Enjoy the trip down the rabbit hole if you dare take the challenge. Welcome to Vasc Nation! I have never seen or heard an artist that can not only sing across all genres but perform across them too. He never disappoints - he has such incredible talent and when you react to more of his covers & originals you will come to appreciate how phenomenal he is. He does all his own harmonies, filming (his studio is his garage) and has total autonomy having never signed with a label (through choice), I'm sure you will get all sorts of recommendations now, my favourites are 'Gethsemane' from the musical, 'Jesus Christ Superstar,' 'Music of the Night' from 'Phantom of the Opera' 'The Witcher' songs, 'Dawn of Victory' 'Rhapsody of Fire' cover with the lead singer of said band, 'Nessun Dorma' (he's classically trained) and if you like heavier then you won't go far wrong with 'Bring me to Life' 'Evanescence' cover. Dan is an amazing singer, with an incredibly beautiful voice, and can sing anything. There are so many songs you need to check out. He does a fantastic job on “The Music of the Night”, “Burn Butcher Burn”, “Bring Me To Life”, “My Immortal” and so many more. He is phenomenal…💕🎶💕

I've seen I don't know how many reaction videos to Dan's version of Amazing Grace. I only found one from some tone deaf dude who said it wasn't anything special and that he'd heard it sung exactly this way many many times. (When I asked him to point me to those 'exact same' renditions he didn't deign to reply.) Anyway, welcome to the incredible vocal journey that is Dan Vasc. You should check out some of his other videos. There are currently about 240 of them. As far as maybe not pleasing some people - the vast majority of comments on all the reaction videos and directly on Dan's TH-cam video of this song are overwhelmingly positive - even from old people like me (I'm 60) - and even older than I. There are some 90+ year old grandmas who have requested that this rendition be sung at their funeral when they pass. Dan is from Brazil and has received years of vocal training. His preferred genre is heavy metal, but he can sing everything from Opera, to hymns like this, to heavy metal. Take a trip down the Dan Vasc rabbit hole. You won't be disappointed!

Daniel is a force of Nature - perfectly controlled and directed by years of study and hard work.
He is a musical genius - who takes any song for himself and makes it better.
He "acts" while singing, creating a very strong "emotional image" and dragging us into it - next to his voice, any other sound is incorporated or disappears from the environment.
This song narrates his own journey of faith - and that of many of us - which goes from the reverent shyness of a recent convert (an empty church) to the power and joy of a son who sees himself accepted within the arms of the Father.
We can feel this in our bodies - they are high-frequency healing drops that make us want to get up, be grateful... and go out and fix the world! 😃

Nice reaction! I've been a member of Vasc-Nation since 9/15/20, when I first heard him do The Sound of Silence. Since then, I've listened to everything on his channel multiple times and have seen his subscribers number gain hundreds of thousands. The man can sing absolutely anything! My suggestion is to do more reactions to any of his songs. Pick a playlist at random, or just a song at random and just have fun exploring his channel. After the first two songs I listened to (Toss A Coin To Your Witcher was my second song), I made a rule for myself that I couldn't repeat any song until I listened to every single song on the all covers playlist. That was a great experience! Showed me his range and how he absolutely makes every single song he sings his own.
Dan could sing the words on a cereal box and make it amazing. His version of Amazing Grace started me and many others on a journey of discovering what he's capable of doing and his metal versions are just a part of it. His Nessum Dorma & Time to Say Goodbye duet show his Operatic abilities. His Metal version of Kiss From a Rose ( duet ) is outstanding. Sleepin Sun cover is a must hear, too. Both Phantom of the Opera songs I've heard give me chills. Then there's the Spyglass Inn acoustic ventures he's done of the Bard's Song and especially Loch Lomond. He covers songs from The Hobbit, too. I just recently heard his versions of Elvis songs "American Trilogy and Love Me Tender which are great and touching because of the reasons for doing them. When I heard his cover of Bon Jovi's "Always", it blew my mind how Dan nailed that song.. Enjoy your journey.

I feel that this 250-year old song has waited all this time for Senhor Dan Vasc (from Brazil) to work on his voice for over 10 years to be able to give it the power it has always craved. I've sang this in church many times; I could feel it wanted this power and strength and couldn't deliver what it wanted. He can and did. I'm quite traditional; I am sure I will never find a more beautiful version of this beloved song ever. Dan Vasc has stated he is a Christian and he put this out for Easter. He has well over 200 videos out there showing his progression from a good singer to this amazing offering. Most of his stuff is secular in nature. He gilds a lot of songs with metal as he did this one as well as covering stuff metal fans are familiar with. I was not a fan of metal as it was a wall of sound I could not penetrate to find melody or lyrics until I clicked on this video and found what a master is capable of producing.

I’m a 68 year old Christian grandma and I love it.the first time I heard it was an emotional rollercoaster. Dan Vasc is a Christian and he sang with so much passion and energy. He was feeling what he was singing and millions of viewers did too! He can and does sing everything, even in multiple languages. Check out this great artist, you’ll love it!
did you know he is brazilian ? English is not his first language and he can speak and sing in at least 4 to 5 languages ? He also got the harmonica from his father at 7 and his father passed away in 2017

I absolutely LOVE Dan's interpretation/rendition of this classic, timeless, and beloved hymn!! He's got so much vocal and breath control! IMHO, he's the best tenor out there! The harmonica really gets me, too, because my precious Granny played it beautifully. As I grew up, we'd gather around the piano as a family, I'd play (and sing alto or 2nd soprano), and she'd play harmonica, while the rest of the family joined in. Priceless memories! I truly believe that all of Heaven stopped to listen when Dan sung this! God put him here to give people hope during these tumultuous times when there is so much fear, hatred, and despair in the world. Thank you for your opinion on this! Amazing Grace was written in 1772 and released in 1778. Dan Vasc, if you think was for a female voice, he has many covers including Wuthering Heights. Others and there are many include, burn butcher burn and toss a coin to your Witcher. Another rabbit hole to disappear into.
