I am from North India, I visited Kerala last month and believe me, when you are flying over Kerala before landing, you will see that the WHOLE of it is this lush green. There are literally people living among trees instead of the conventional reverse reality.

Kerala is one of the Artistic hub of India. Malayalam film industry is based on Kerala. Although I am an Indian I was exposed to Malayalam cinema very lately when I was doing my bachelor degree in South India, thanks to my friends. Before that I have zero knowledge about Malayalam movies. Now I can safely say that Malayalam film industry is the best in terms of their concepts and experimentation besides Bengali cinema. You should definitely watch some of their movies.

Oh man, my wife and I went to Kerala for our honeymoon, specifically Munnar and Allapey and my god what a beautiful place!! Took our breadth away. From chilling in the tea plantations up in the mountains to majestic deserts, all the way to living on a house boat in the backwater channels, what a trip it was.

This is where I come from. I am a Keralite. It is amazing to see someone react to where I come from. I will say, that these videos definitely do not do justice to the absolute beauty of Kerala, and seeing it in person is much, much better than any camera can do. The video also missed places such as Munnar. Regardless, thank you for taking the time out of your day to react to Kerala... or... by its nickname: God's Own Country. Kerala makes me go aw always..i got experience of living in kerala for one month.. and it was wonderful.greenry is too awsm but it has strict rules also.. tourism is great there.. and those tunic are called Mundu widout which u cant enter in a temple there.. ladies shoul wear sarees or suits.. no jeans bermudas allowed.. .. but sadly the flood came last year and much of these places were affected but everything starts up again and so did kerala
The restriction is only in guruvayoor temple i guess.. In other temple u can wear wt u want.. Bt boys should takeoff their shirt.. Thats it dear.

FACT- poverty tours do exist. Mostly personal trips made by foreigners. I guess since you don't get to see poverty at this level in the west, it becomes a point of interest. In my opinion, it's cool if you do it while contributing to the welfare of that society, then it's a guy who's looking around and wants to help. But if it's for a thrill, or let's say a stoner who wants to feel like he's living a documentary, I'd say that's borderline evil!

I second this. Even Danny Boyle talked about his tour through dharavi homes. We can cut him some slack though coz he was researching for his movie.
@@abhimg and he created temporary employment for the people there by using local talent on the film. The kids he cast in the movie all got free education (including in the US and UK) for life. He changed lives.

@ Ricksegall @ Korbinmile- The gullyboy thing about tourist visiting slum is called Poverty tourism or Slumdog syndrome( movie - Slumdog Millionaire reference). There are tour companies and "tour guides" who host these walking tours in slums. Dharavi, Asia's biggest slum is in Mumbai (Bombay) and there are Dharavi slum tours organised daily. If you google "Dharavi slum tours" you will find all the listing for such tours.
