- Nissan Patrol front door lock mechanism GU 2003 Not Working. This is video will also solve the problem if it works once the bolt has been replaced but stops working when you reassemble it. I also suggest putting some lock tight on the nut to guarantee it does not work itself loose once back in the door. Let me know how you go so I can update the description info for other people.
Thank you brother, you have saved me $300 on a new unit with this fix
Spot on. Was doing my head in with the central locking not working. Was exactly like you said. The spring does look like it's slipped off its retaining point but appears to just be not retained other then the lugs of the spring. Thanks again
Awesome video, very helpful, I have got same issue and was easy fixed after I watched your tutorial, saved some money and time, regards.
Glad it was helpful
did you have troube with the small spring?
@@danzephyr2797 No, haven't got trouble, I fix it, as on the video, regards
@@witek0206 thanks same here, the spring sitting on the angle doesnt sit tightly thats all. still trying here...
Thanks mate solved my door issues, now i can even lock it with the key
Great to hear
Thanks for the info. I spent all day on my driver side door lock would work unassembled as soon as i put backing bracket back on same issue lock would not work. I ended up cutting down that locating rod and amazingly it worked. Many hours of frustration until I saw your vid.
Thanks Davididos, glad the video helped
Thanks for your help, I just fixed my Navara D22, the lock mechanism is the same and the problem was also the same
Thanks for the detail and pointers in your vid. I've now completed the same repair to my driver's side door lock. Thanks again!
Glad I could help and thanks for the feedback
It is a bit late now to mention it, but I did later add Lock Tight to the small nut to make sure it did not unscrew.
I am still having probs putting the spring back, any advice? did the grease keep it in place like you were saying mate?
Love your video.. just wondering how I actually remove the mechanism from the door so i can fix my rear driver door.. cheers. Tim
Gday mate cool video , how much did you grind off that pin in the end of the video
@@robbiemccormack744 It was so long ago I cannot remember but I would have only ground a small amount and kept testing. I was surprised that solved the problem getting it all to fit back together or work. Sorry I cannot help more. Sounds like you are so close.
@@australianoverlanders4688 no worries mate , yeh I’m a boilermaker so I got a grinder an a hammer , thanks for the reply
Mate how the hell did you get it out as I've taken to 4 mechanics and they could not do
It's locked and has not opened in ages
I was fortunate that my lock was intermittent. Once the door opened up I managed to take the inside panel off and with lots of body twisting remove the mechanism.
