Such a cool video Euge. No extra hype added to the video/explanation like other youtube content creators, just good pragmatic approaches to guitar tones. Would love some more playthrough/song tutorial videos too, those are great.
This is pretty useful. It took me like 15 year to figure out what to listen to when dialing in an amp. Moving the knobs rapidly back and forth is a great way to find out when they start to sound nasty. I'd love to see you dial in a single amp with different cabs just to see how massive of a difference there can be.

Great tutorial. Almost like a direct follow up to the question I had about my Laney. Moral of the story is everything matters; amp, cab, EQ, mike type, mike placement, pickups, guitar, IRs, double tracks etc... Like you said, ultimately, we will sound like us individually in the end.
Euge love the way you setup your amp to get the tone you prefer I think people should understand tone is subjective depends on amp and cabinet and guitar and pickups and you are so right about the knobs being there so you can adjust it to your liking great video Euge.
A great description for the at “mid cranked” sound from the 5150 is the sound of a cocked wah. Heard that from a buddy and its exactly right! Great vid!
People tend to ask for settings to have an idea I guess but I do agree they will be non relevant since we don’t have the same attack, left hand technique, guitars, cabs, IRs and headphone or studio monitors, so, it’s good to understand how you approach your tone shaping and try to replicate within our own style…

I started this YT thing pretty much last year since all our (Cyhra) tours were cancelled and I think it’s been growing pretty nicely from a few hundred subs to over 17 K in a bit over a year 🙏😎. I went with the H8s ’cos I want to be able to hear lows accurately without a sub 👌.
You’re welcome! 🙏 I’d recommend to try to sound the best you. Well that’s why I always try to do anyways (try to sound the best me) 😎. But there’s nothing wrong to try to sound like me either 😊.

Otherwise too flubby. Havent seen anyone run it this way, like you said you need to use your ears!
Hey! An excellent overview for those who want to choose a certain type of amplifier for themselves. I worked in the 90s with an unmodified 800 2203 '83 head with vertical inputs. Sound of a killer. If possible, test this amplifier. I think you will like it!
Thanks! I used to own five 2203s at one point (late 90s - early 2000s and one of them was from ’83 and one a JMP 2203 from ’79 if I remember correct) but I ended up selling 3 of them and kept the two I still have ’cos I liked those the most. The 2203ZW I also have is pretty much a replica of a vertical input 2203 but just with Wylde’s graphics and 6550 power tubes. Great amps indeed and Marshall got it so right back in the day that they’re still my favourite amps after all these years.
Euge, i have a question for you, why don't you adjust the master knob to find the "breathe" position with the bad boy? In your last video (with the Wilde amp) either do that… Thanks for share, really good tones!
Which boost would you use for the EVH 5150 EL34 head? SD or TS-type effect? My EII Eclipse 7 string guitar is quite bass heavy and lacks mids, so would like to address that. And what is your preferred boost for Mesa Rectifiers (if you had to play one)? Cheers
It’d depend the tone I’m looking for, the guitar, the pickups, the day etc. 😎 That’s why I have SD-1, TS & BD-2 on my studio board so I use the one that does the job the best on any given situation. Usually it’s SD-1 no matter the amp but sometimes the other two does the job better 🤟.
All these guys who made videos about that new Synergy IICP module and failed to get a satisfying sound out of it should watch this video to learn how to dial in that thing, haha.

The Jtm 45 Marshall is my favorite on amplitude. I put a tube screamer in front of it. Sounds like vintage Iron Maiden,Priest, rainbow,AC DC.
