You haven't heard of him because Dimash has decided to not sign up with any labels in the music industry and to remain an independent artist. The choice was made because as he once mentioned in an interview, he is hard-headed and would have difficulty being told what to sing or what to do. He has his own production company called "Dimashali". All Dimash concerts, wherever they be, pulls in tens of thousands of fans flying in from all of the world to attend. At each of his concert, there are fans from over 60 countries attending. As far as "celebrity" goes, Dimash is a household name in China. When his first album came out in China, it went platinum within 37 seconds and 3 times more before the end of the day.

Don't worry there's nobody else out there that compares with Dimash. He's also the most musically diverse, with songs that cover everything from classical to rap and everything in between. He is now a world star and can fill stadiums in every country in the world including the USA. Check out his Barclay Centre concert New York 20,000 just before the pandemic it's on utube. Every airport he arrives in "Dears" (fans) present him with flowers. People fly in from all over the world to see his concerts.

DIMASH is a genius, musical assassin, you can't force him into any category or genre. He has fun with his music performances and loves what he is doing to the "Nth" degree. He is beyond exceptional as a talent. he is singer, composer, multi-instrumentalist, actor , dancer and a fantastic humanist and all around great human; as his "dears' already know. Sings in about 15 different languages, his conversational English is great.

He was about 24 in that performance. He is 29 now and will be 30 in a few months. Subtract 5 from his age and that's how long he has been training. He is one of the few cases of someone with massive talent backing that up with an equivalent amount of work.
This song was from Starmania, a 70's French/Canadian rock opera. So there was someone else that could originally sing this song. There haven't been many.

Dimash has 7 to 8 octaves now & 4 semi tones. His fans are called Dears, that’s what he calls us. I have been to 2 of his concerts, NY at the Barclay Arena in 2019 & last month in Hongkong. Fans from 45 countries came to NY concert, the biggest one was his Almaty concert in his hometown, fans from 165 countries attended. And his Dears LOVE him and can get really protective and maybe harsh in the comments trying to protect him. But he has such AMAZING songs. You should start with the songs he sand through the Chinese music competition TV show The Singer. The first song he sang in that competition was this SOS.Freddy Mercury's The Show Must Go On, Hello (cover of Lionel Richie's song), Adagio, Opera2, Funk you up, ... The first song you listened to, Olimpico, was actually written specifically for Dimash by a Russian composer, Igor Krutoy who came OUT OF RETIREMENT to work with Dimash after he heard Dimash sing Sinful Passion. Most Reactors, including professional singers and Vocal coaches worldwide have no doubts, he is the best in the world!! For one thing, be prepared for quite a few songs he sings in English including Covers by Queen, Lara Fabian, Celine Dion, Lionel Ritchie and not forgetting a certain Michael Jackson. And only last week, he sang an operatic duet with Placido Domingo! Incredible!! You are onto something so special with Dimash that very soon you will become another of his adoring "DEARS" as he refers to his fans. This is one enormous rabbit hole you have stumbled into. Dimash is a 29-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly anyway😅). However, if you include the notes he has sung live in his concerts so far, you get almost 8 octaves (7.7 from vocal fry C1 (B0) to the whistle register D8; this note is no longer on the piano). At least that's what he's shown us so far. And this in all registers (chest, mixed and head voice up to the whistle register). The transitions from one register to the other are so fluid that they are sometimes not recognized even by vocal coaches or professional singers.
His voice is the result not only of his God-given talent, but also of his almost 25 years of hard daily training. From the age of 5 he attended music school in his hometown of Aktobe. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. Mainly classic and pop, so he created a new crossover genre. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. And at his concert in Almaty, Kazakhstan on September 23, 2022 he sang in 7 languages in one concert! And at his concert in Yerevan on April 29, 2023, he sang an Armenian folk song for the first time (it has to be about 16 or 17 languages so far).
He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He is managed by his father Kanat, who founded his own company "DimashAli Creative Center". The logo can be seen at the beginning of many of Dimash's videos. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how.
Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, intelligent, respectful and humble person. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country. And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this.
His concert in September 23, 2022 was in Almaty, Kazakhstan. It was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art, you realize you are so wrong.
He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to constantly improve his vocal skills.
He said in an interview that he trains at least 3 hours every day, if necessary, it can be 10 hours to prepare for a concert. He loves swimming and also a lot under water. Maybe that's why he has this large lung capacity to hold the notes as long as he does. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing. Not only is he perfect at singing and performing, he's also an incredibly good actor. Check out his music videos. They are amazing. You think I’m exaggerating? No, I don’t think so😄.
He sang this song as a guest at the Slavic Bazaar in Belarus 2018. It’s an International Festival of Arts and a contest for young singers, which he won in 2015.
SOS is a song in the rock-opera „Starmania“ from 1978. The first who presented this song was the French singer and songwriter Daniel Balavione.
SOS was the first performance of the China competition (in 2017) and was his first appearance in this show. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to this show are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among others. He was still completely unknown in China. Actually, it was intended that he would only have 1 or 2 appearances. But it came completely different. When he woke up the next morning after his first performance of SOS he was a megastar in China and even found bodyguards outside his hotel room. SOS’ first video had 600 million views when it aired. He was just 22 years old at the time.

Here he sings in a competition for young musicians, called New Wave in Sochi, Russia. He was there in 2018 as a guest.
The gentleman at the end you see standing and clapping is the famous Russian/Ukrainian composer, producer and songwriter Igor Krutoy. His and Dimash's collaboration created true masterpieces. He writes songs that only Dimash could sing with his vocal range, such as Olimpico, Stranger or Ave Maria. You’ll often see him accompanying Dimash on the piano. The two have no contract. Their cooperation is based more on mutual trust. It’s more like a father/son relationship.
If possible, always watch the videos from start to finish. Very often there are interesting things to learn. Either there’s something to laugh about, or he’s talking to his audience. He always thanks his musicians. He is incredibly humble and never acts like a star. When he is praised, he constantly says that it is thanks to his teachers and his parents, who made it all possible for him. He’s just incredible.

At the beginning of the Pandemic I found myself at home watching reactors talk about Dimash. I was totally stunned, to say the least. Now, I try to listen to something by Dimash every day. This particular performance actually gives me goosebumps every time I see it! I'm 73 and I've seen and heard a ton of very good singer/performers, but Dimash is the very best!
Many say Dimash is the best vocalist on the planet and he plays several instruments and speaks and sings in several different languages. Amazing Talent, and hard work.

He is 29 now but was like 24 I think here. You definitely need to see more he has a lot of content and you will definitely get more goosebumps, he does many genres btw. And has like 30 voices. Try out Endless Dimensions, Hello, and Stranger for some English songs.
