Hi, super video. One question, I have Z 1000 year 2014 with the ABS system, is the change of brake fluid and bleeding of the brakes the same as in the video? Thanks
Hi, great video, really helpful. Quick question; if the top of my brake pistons have rust on them what would you advise? Clean, replace? Thanks in advance.
Hi thanks for watching, I'm guessing by the 'top' you mean the area thats closest to the brake pad? Is it heavily corroded or just some light pitting. If at this stage its not running past the seals which I'm guessing it's not then try cleaning. But you may find over a period of time that the whole piston may start corroding.
Thanks for watching and glad it helped. Looking at the workshop manual it does look like you can bleed the system the same way unless I'm missing something?
You prolly dont care at all but does any of you know a way to log back into an Instagram account..? I was dumb lost the account password. I love any tricks you can offer me!
@Derrick Stefan i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and im trying it out atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
I normally use brake cleaner and a cloth, i.e spray the brake cleaner onto a cloth and then clean rather than risk brake cleaner spraying about and damaging any plastic items.
The genuine part number for the front brake pads are 43082-0113 (you will need two of) if you look here you can pull up the parts for your bike www.kawasakioriginalparts.com/
Hi sorry not 100% sure without seeing the manual but would guess it might be although there might be special procedures for bleeding the abs modulator-best to get hold of workshop manual to check the procedure.
No, it's not recommended these days thats not to say that you shouldn't. What you should use is a dedicated brake pad grease/paste. In my case as I generally remove the pads/caliper's regularly to clean I find I don't need to also when riding through the winter I find grit etc sticks to everything but thats my personal preference although on cars I use brake pad grease/paste. Google it you will find brake manufacturers advise against using copperslip alghough that's what I was taught many years ago as an apprentice.
Love your videos. Have z1000sx myself and without your videos I wouldn't be able to fix it on many occasions. Thank you

What are you using to clean the rotors?
I normally use brake cleaner and a cloth, i.e spray the brake cleaner onto a cloth and then clean rather than risk brake cleaner spraying about and damaging any plastic items.
Do you have the part number or pictures for front brakes? I know I will need to get 2 set of the brakes, Thanks a lot.

Did you install the original ones in this video?
Is this the same process on 2019 ABS model for the front brake start m/cylinder then right then left callipers . Nothing extra re the abs to do ?
Hi sorry not 100% sure without seeing the manual but would guess it might be although there might be special procedures for bleeding the abs modulator-best to get hold of workshop manual to check the procedure.
No copper grease to the back of the pad ?

Can I know which brake fluid u used
I used Silkolene universal brake and clutch fluid.
how do I know when there's air or no air coming out?
You’ll see bubbles, vs clear fluid.
Hi sorry I missed this as Michael says you will see bubbles.
Thanks
No problem thanks for watching
