  • It’s crazy that a company was able to release a handheld with an Aluminum Shell in the Sub $100 category. With the layout and feel of the CB408 you could mistake it for the Retroid Pocket 3+ Metal addition. But how well does it emulate using the RK3566 SOC?

      I knew I would get someone’s feathers. I’m going to bring it back out and use it to test some things. I haven’t had a reason to play it with the Odin Mini Pro sitting on my desk next to my Odin 2 Pro. RP4Pro doesn’t suck it just doesn’t stand out anymore

    The Ali listing I found this on which led me to search yt and get here, it had an image of what looks like the official spec sheet. Confirms its only n 2.4g. Also has correct 4.7 in spec. Good to learn that it is only android atm, since this sheet stated both with open source linux. Look forward to your follow up.....

      Yeah myself and a couple other reached out to the sellers in the hopes they would update their listings. Good chance we will see GammaOS on this which would be awesome

    What caught me off guard is the RP5, it might be what I have been waiting for. I do like the design of these but not a metal handheld fan or need another RK3566. I can see the D-pad on the bottom complaint.

    • @CellPhish
      @CellPhish  23 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      If the DPad was on top it would look exactly like a RP3+. The RP5 has me interested as well. I should probably us3 my RP4Pro a bit to talk myself into it. I’m bummed that Retroid seems to have ditched the flip

      @sTuPiDiScOoL_ 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Don't buy into the rp5 to much man your not losing apart from oled it offers nothing in terms of better performance apart from maybe the odd driver but it will literally be no more powerful then rp4 865 is ancient chipset.

  • @KingKalos5th
    @KingKalos5th 23 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Very nice device I would say, especially considering the price. The chip suggests probably something custom will come for it and will make it great. Not available everywhere tho unfortunately. Thanks for the review!

    • @CellPhish
      @CellPhish  23 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      You should notice it right away when you pull the back off. Mine had the exact same problem. While I was submitting for a return I started opening it but they processed the return before I tired to power it on. So I need to go in and cancel that return. You should see the ribbon cable unplug towards the top, the cable runs out from under the battery you can’t miss it.

    I definitely prefer having a 3.5mm jack and wish all phone still did. I have a variety of headphones that are all 3.5mm and give me different options for what I want. I had having to make sure any bluetooth audio option is charged. Having so many electronic devices, making sure earbuds/bluetooth headphones are always charged on top of that is just another annoyance. The only bluetooth audio device I care to make sure is charged are the ones I use for the gym and running.

    • @CellPhish
      @CellPhish  20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      That totally tracks. I too was bummed when they removed the headphone jack from my phone. All my headphones these days are studio headphones I don’t wanna go walking around with. If I still had more wired headphones I likely would use them more

    I imagine most folks who'd buy a knockoff rp3+ would be budget conscious. As a rule wired headphones are still way better price to performance than wireless. I don't think it'd have to be much to do with latency. Like a pair of Koss KPH30I's are going to sound better than most $100 dollar wireless IEM or headphones and they cost 30 bucks.

    • @CellPhish
      @CellPhish  23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Nothing wrong with watching the budget. When I do use headphones with my handhelds I use my in ear monitors from back in my music making days. Way cheaper to go Bluetooth. But I do get where you are coming from. I always test to make sure the port works, I normally hop my headphones I’m already wearing from my phone to the handheld I’m using. For me it’s just a convenience thing.

    • @exturkconner
      @exturkconner 23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@CellPhish Cheaper to go blue tooth than what? I mean if you are suggested good blue tooth headphones are cheaper than wired that's simply not the case. The best budget headphones are even IEM's are all wired. Like I love my moondrop space travels for 25 bucks. But my Koss' sound way better. A pair of QKZs,KZ,KBear are going to be pretty cheap and sound better than anything in the same price bracket that's also wireless weather 2.4 using a dongle or blue tooth. I also don't especially get the convenience argument do you think it's easier to pair a blue tooth device than to just plug something in?
