Man is 4:43am here in Vegas, I’m having a marathon of your videos, this specially is so important because your energy and happiness when you enjoy doing that is amazing!! you have coating me with good vibes. God bless u man
Commented before, but just gotta say; it's 12:30am, you're in a middle of a snow and weather alert and you decide to ruck up and camp for maybe 3 hours, cook breakfast, and still get up to go work!?? EPIC!!!!!! Shout from Iowa
I’m catching this one a year later. Chris is a true adventure warrior! Love the channel and the content. U remind me of Les Stroud, showing your misfortunes and still prevailing. Love it!! 😁👍👍🇺🇸
🇨🇦☃️love this! In London Ontario we have a river running through the city. You see the camps along the river in the wilderness. Years ago in winter a homeless guy and dog we standing out. I asked him what he needed. He said a tent. I gave him one but till these winter camping videos I did not know you can camp in winter. Now we have london cares that houses folks and their loved animal companions. Cheers Chris.
🇬🇧 What a crazy mad mental thing to do but wonderful too! I love being out in the snow & especially at night time when it has a special kind of light about. It looks so pretty from up on your ridge with the twinkling lights laid out below you. It does your spirit & psyche good to do things like this, something out of the ordinary & being one with the elements. Id definitely love to do this! Thanks Chris Peace & Good Cheer 🇬🇧🙋
Human civilization is doing quite well for itself when an adult can act out his childhood fantasy. To all those negative people out there, this video is proof that we are doing okay.
Yes there is way to many negative ppl out there spreading their negativity . I don’t hang out with ppl like that . They’ll just bring you down to their level . I hang around up beat positive ppl with positive attitudes spreading love and kindness every where
Human civilisation is a broad stroke, plenty of people who aren’t doing well... all this proves is that this guy is doing well.. but hey, whatever makes you feel better..
Just want to say I love your videos, journeys, adventures, foods and stories and it brings great joy and peace to me. Lots of respect to you for all the hardwork and effort you put into your videos. Thank you so much for bringing the great videos and contents for us. Stay safe. Keep hiking Chris!
WOW you are some adventurer, kudos to you, man, for doing all this in the middle of the night! Not to mention it being frigid outside, and having no heat source in your tent!!! You are one brave soul, guy!!! Enjoyed watching👍🏻😀
I don't get to camp as much as I want to because I am a Truck Driver and I'm on the road alot, but getting to live vicariously through you is a blast. Keep it up.
When I was driving semi, I felt like I was camping every day in an RV style. I felt like my little bunk compartment was my own genie bottle. I felt so free❤
Ever since I found your channel several weeks ago, I've been watching your videos daily. This particular adventure of yours...😂...I laughed a lot, and when I wasn't laughing, I was smiling.😄 The thought of leaving at 12:30 at night to go camp above your neighborhood...🤣...with that snow...😆.... Needless to say, I loved this video! You just crack me up, Chris. Thanks so much for sharing your adventures with us, even if you're just a few blocks from home. 😂
When I served in the US Army, we did several training exercises, sometimes for a couple of weeks at the time, in the middle of winter in Germany. It wasn't fun. This video reminds me of that time.
I agree, coffee is definitely essential. I can go without it but starting the day with a nice warm cup of coffee is a great way to get the day going. You get a boost of energy and it's actually healthy for you! Reducing the risk for cardio vascular illnesses, liver illnesses, depression, cancer, just overall helping you live longer and I love it.
I love to camp and adventure but, Idk if I would have done this! I was watching from inside my house with the fire burning lol! I do love watching your videos Chris. Keep Hiking! Thanks for sharing!
You did really well. You know you're alive when you're out of the comfort zone eh! If anyone deserves a two day hot bath/sauna, that's you man! Subbed!
I get the idea that Chris could MAKE or find fun anywhere he goes, alone or with other people, the man is going to be sure to get as much fun out of everything he can get out, he'll make it happen, if he HAS to! He has the best, and biggest funny bone I've ever witnessed.
Being from Texas and the fact it's been years since I've seen snow, and our definition of a snow storm is like 1/4 inch, I was freezing just watching you.
Okay Chris, I hope you see this, it is over a year since it was posted. I MUST say, when I "found" you, after watching and listening for a bit,, I thought wow, this guy has GOT to be some distant relative of ours or something. I mean being "fun crazy" runs in our family. We know how to have a good time especially because we ARE fun-crazy! Who else would pack up camping gear in a backpack to walk a couple blocks in your own neighborhood to "go camping" in the winter, with plenty of snow, in the cold AFTER MIDNIGHT before you get started with your "hike" OMG slapping self on forehead - I am so LMFBO (laughing my fun(ny) butt off). ' I know one thing that is doubt free - and for certain... ya can't just make this sh*t up, that's for sure!!!! I've laughed so hard, the tears are starting to run, shhhhhh! don't tell anyone: (down my legs for crying out loud!) C U L8R **Be Safe, Happy, Healthy, and BE Kind - Kindness Matters!**
My favorite part was you stirring the instant coffee with the sleeve it came in! Funny. You really got the most out of this hike within view of your house.
Chris your my kind of madman. Most people will be saying WHY, I say WHY NOT. If we got snow anything like you do and I had somewhere like that to camp near my house I would be out there to. Great little vid and very out of the ordinary.
I have a Jetboil frying pan that looks like that. My wife and hike in the city during big snow storms. We stop off at motels with restaurants to eat. But your idea looks like more fun.
I’m moving to Carson City. But seriously, I love your videos. Wish I can watch when I go solo camping. I like winter camping cause no sweat, no bugs, less people and water everywhere.
SF East Bay here, great video! When I saw the weather on your phone at the very beginning I guessed it was the big storm in January. That storm was epic, I drove up to the Sierras for skiing on my birthday (29th) the day after you camped. Big storms like they used to happen a few times a year. These days we are lucky to get one similar event per year. Peace and positivity Chris, love your videos and positivity.
very funny that you are near your home. Excellent adventure and no dog walkers! I bet you were so glad to get back in and dry everything out. Houses do have their uses. Reminds me of another man like you. Steve Wallis.
I hear it's a Great pack! I'm considering Black Diamond Fitzroy single-wall expedition tent upgrade...expensive and heavy...but would make life more comfortable for myself.
That was a brutal camp especially when humidity seeps all inside, and it's too cold to leave a vent open, this could become dangerous if it gets into your bedding and clothes, then it's below zero, hypothermia wouldn't be far behind, so glad you lived close and didn't have a long hike out in your damp clothes, One thing I have seen on UK hikes is the hot water bottles. They use excess boiled water to fill bottles and place inside bedding, this keeps them warm overnight, I have a farm, and I use the " hot hand, hot feet" pads during winter weather feeding,
That was crazy! But it was interesting. Thanks again for another great video share! Keep hiking, God bless, and have a great one! See you on the next one!

Hey brother i just had to watch your stealth camp video again. I really enjoy watching it but i don't winter camp anymore mainly because i had spent 20 years in the Infantry in the US Army and done tons of winter survival training and had frostbite and hypothermia. I wished i could do it again because of the beauty of the snow. So i do a lot of backpacking trips in the spring, summer and fall and do some stealth camping in nearby woods close to my house. That was crazy but it seems like you really enjoyed it as much as I did like you said it was good to get out and try something different but luckily you had the house right down there when it got too bad

Awesome adventure !, even if it was close to your house. You are a tough individual ! , and very organized in your hiking adventures. Fun !
Glad I’m not the only one who does fun, crazy schtuff! ☃️
By far this is one of my favorite videos of yours. I especially love the night scenes of the town from on top the hill. Keep hiking! :)

It just looks so cold there! I am a spring and fall lover. Winter is for people who enjoy the cold.

Columbia Omni heat gear is legit plus it doesn’t break the bank either. Good stuff
One of the best and most difficult videos Chris. Thanks for your guts. Keep hiking.
Thanks, will do!
I love it. You don't have to go to the edge of the planet for adventure.
Probably makes it harder when you can walk 2 minutes and get under a quilt
