vasan 43 let the Jack die in peace, I've realized why people were harsh on Apple because how abruptly it came about but now they're so many much more convenient alternatives. I would gladly prefer wireless headphones over wired and with $10-$20 Amazon BT transmitters you can make just about anything Bluetooth ready from an old car, stereo, TV, mixer, etc. Not having wires is so convenient...just my opinion, it's not missed although originally I thought I would.

Have you even heard from the phone yet? They aren't even out. They have better 3D sound technology build in than the iPhone X or Pixel 2XL. I had say it's on par with Pixel. iPhone X stereo is clear but not as loud.

Horton you are slightly wrong. Samsung has iris scanner since last year. Apple then came out with Face ID in the fall. Now Samsung has iris scanner and a facial recognition. So Apple was first with facial scan. Samsung was first with iris scan.

2. Having Bixby on a phone with Google Assistant is plain ludicrous.
3. 'ARmoji' is Samsung's way of telling the world that it values 'originality' above all else. *coughs* Animoji *coughs* AR on iPhones
4. And the fingerprint scanner location on S8/8+ could very well have been a deliberate move: a box left unticked on purpose last year to add to the list of 'ticked' boxes this year. You know what I mean.
5. The camera & SD845 processor seem to be the only *real* deal here.

I will admit i got used to not having a headphone jack. But I wont be an apple sheep and say the headphone jack is useless, I have had so many times where my phone is low, and my earbuds ran out of juice as well making me stop my movie/show/youtube. So i can charge my phone and earphones. Is not having the option for wired headphones a good idea? No its not and honestly it's annoying, but i can live without one. But its still nice to have the OPTION of wired headphones.

The Sony XZ Premium had 960fps slow-motion video & stereo speakers. Also a 4K HDR display with lightning fast performance/animations. It came out way back in June 2017 & is such an underrated phone. The only real advantage the S9 has over the Premium is the SD845 instead of the 835.
iPhone would need a decade to match up to these features.......coming from an iPhone user.

I can't applaud Samsung on this. They always gave you the same camera in any size so you if the camera is important to you but your budge couldn't handle the Plus, you didn't have to worry with the small device. Now, like Apple has done in the past and might continue to do, is making you choose a bigger device and higher price tag if you care a lot about your photos and video you take.
The camera on the S9 is still good, just not the best Samsung has to offer. I think the S9+ camera is more of a on-the-go camera for professional/half-professional photographers and video makers, and those usually are ready to invest that money.
But yeah, even though it makes a bit of sense, I'd still love if the S9 had the same dual cameras as the S9+.
the on thing i hate about the s9/s9 plus is that they did this and have different ram fr both, made the s9 plus more premium, but tbh, i dont care much coz i am going for ths s9 plus, but yeah, not a very good move from samsung, should have kept the same camera and ram on both

I'm going to preorder this from my local service provider (preorder go live in about 19 hours according to their site) and I honestly hope the display doesn't have burn ins like the s8 does I've got an s8 plus and it's got the whole TH-cam UI burned into the screen so I see this see through red tint on my screen in the shape of the TH-cam app everyday this angers me deeply since the phone cost so much and the worst part is Samsung said that this isn't a defect it makes me so mad

It bothers me how people still think that the headphone jack is a necessity. It is not!
Depends. For you the headphone jack may not be necessary, for others it is, because they are used to wired connection. The main disadvantage of wireless is the battery, you need to charge the headphones. I am a geek (see in the name hah) so it doesn't bother me how many devices I need to charge every day, but most consumers won't enjoy the experience, because they are used to just charging their phone.
I'll have a very detailed discussion about wireless technologies on my channel in a couple of months, consider subscribing? ;)
Gamed4Geeks I see where your coming from. But wireless headphones usually last for 8-10 hours. I have some Bluetooth headphones that continue to not need to be charged and it’s been a few months. 😂 I have an iPhone 7 and I actually like Apple’s bold move to get rid of the headphone jack. It just makes sense. It’s over 100 years old, were moving towards a wireless world and it led to the space being used for more important components. Wireless is just better. Nobody likes the hassle of a cord. Especially when it gets tangled.
Often people use their headphones to listen to music/videos/calls for a total of 4-5 hours a day, which means they'd have to recharge the headphones every other day. And they don't want to think about charging, it is a hassle after all. Imagine if you forget to charge them, and you have no other options to listen to music. With a headphone jack you have this option, whether you usually listen to music wireless or wired is not important, because even if for whatever reason the wireless headphones run out of battery in the middle of the day, you can always switch to the wired option.
And this is where the key difference between Apple and Samsung is, imho. Apple prefers to pick the best option in their opinion, and just implement this one option, ignoring for a moment the Lightning headphones which restricts you from charging the phone. Samsung, on the other hand, includes a variety of options for the user to choose from, you can listen wireless, you can use the headphone jack, or you could even use the USB Type-C. I'd just feel restricted if I didn't have a headphone jack in my phone, even if most of the time I use wireless headphones.
The argument that removing the headphone jack allows for the space being used for more important components doesn't really hold true. Samsung still has the headphone jack, and they include a much larger battery and more powerful specs (on paper, because Samsung phones are limited by software sadly), like more RAM compared to the iPhone X, top of the line phone from Apple. The only aspect in terms of physical dimensions or features where iPhones take the lead is that they are 1mm thinner. 1mm. Is this important enough to justify the absence of a headphone jack? I don't think so.
Yes, the future is wireless. But before this happens, there are a lot of obstacles we need to overcome, one of which is the battery life. For now, we can have a choice, because there are situations when wireless is just inconvenient and provides more problems than solutions.

A headphone jack is a feature whose presence really isnt that big a deal, but removing it makes people resent it because they feel restricted, and forced into the wireless era, and honestly sometimes u just forget to charge, u get home from a long day of work and just crash in ur bed and then wake up with ur wireless earphones out of juice. i have both wired and wireless earphones, and i use the wired ones more now tbh, my wired earphones are cheaper than my wireless ones, and yet have a better sound quality and thers no hassle of charging. what u keep talking about, having wireless earphones with a good battery life, good quality sound, true, theres many wireless earphones with a good sound quality and battery life, but they are always much more expensive than wired earphones offering the same quality of sound,. as for the chip part, does it even matter atm? the snapdragon 835, which had a multicore score of 6000 was already a beast, and now the snapdragon 845 has a multicore score of 8200, which although lesser than apple, will have no problems for the next 3 years. also, geekbench benchmark results only show the raw cpu power, nothing else, if u see others tests where they combines both the cpu and gpu and other details, apple is usually either only slightly ahead or in some cases behind the snapdragon, geekbench only shows raw cpu power, nothing else, in a test where they compared s8 and iphone X, they showed that the s8 was actually able to keep a lot of apps open, while the iphone X failed to keep apps open in the background, iphones essentially restarted the whole app when opened from recents, which is a fail tbh. and removing the headphone jack didnt change the iphone internals at all, it allowed apple to makr their phones thinner, but thats it, the spot where they used to have a headphone jack was just an empty space in the iphone 7 and 8. i understand u like iphone and kudos to you, but keep in mind not everyone likes how restricting it is. and apple maybe good, but its overpriced as hell. and for the wirless thing, not everyone can afford top of the class wireless earphones, the mid range wireless earphones still have loads of restrictions, if u can afford to put in a lot of money on phones do it, but dont say everyone should use it, apple give the least value for its worth

Would be great if you make a direct comparison feature for feature with the iPhone X... The S9 would win in almost every possible ways (beside cpu... until the iPhone's one is throttled of course, LOL). Though, I'm pretty sure you won't do it or will try and say good things about both phones to don't upset any of your subscribers... So, no objective comparison.

best overall package till now... i knew this was gonna happen... like s6 had many flaws, s7 perfected them and it was a hit... same is with s8 it was almost the perfect smartphone... almost but they fingerprint reader and mono speaker were a major major deal breaker for me... but s9 holy shit... that amazing infinity display with stereo speakers... diverseness of Android... fast charging *out of the box* *cough* and headphone jack *cough* again *apple* ... and that amazing amazing camera... usb-c... and pricing... iPhone x costs 1000$ in us equals 65-70k in India... but they are selling this for 100k here... where as note 8 was selling for 950$ in us but here it's selling for 65-67k that's wt u call being fair... definitely Samsung ftw

Midnight black for life✌🙌👏. I just want to say that the Samsung Galaxy s9 plus was my first android phone. O was a hard core apple user, with an iphone X being my last apple phone. I was very disappointed using it, one reason being it felt just like all the other apple phones. I was used to it with in 5 min! And I thought it would be a big difference... IT WASNT!!! So o traded it in and preordered the S9 plus... My mind was blown with the display and how premium it feels! I love having the head phone jack as an option. I got my phone with 64 gig and put in a 264 gig card in meaning I have over 300 gigs now! Its awsome. But to wrap this up I'm very happy I switched!😋
Meh. I'll wait until 2019. A lot of the new features seem gimmicky. Strongly dislike the fact that Samsung low-balled the s9 by 2GB of RAM and one camera lens. Some people don't want a big ass phablet in their pockets (esp w/ a case) while sacrificing performance and overall fluidity. While the camera itself isn't the most important feature personally, I would have liked to see a second [wide angle] lens. Finally, the fingerprint sensor would have been PERFECT had it been positioned vertically instead of horizontally imho. It's really a shame Samsung didn't get it perfect this time either...
Finally dual speakers; it's time to finally switch from my iPhone 7( yes I am serious my mandatory need is dual speakers), gonna get the s9 plus! And isn't the s9 plus the perfect phone? It completed the flaws of the s8! We have correct fingerprint position, amazing cameras, display, stereo speakers, amazing hardware, great video capabilities and wow the headphone jack, exp.storage!! They finally perfected it!
You get handed a phone to review room guy away, and you fawn over it, even though there’s literally nothing impressive or innovative here... “oooo! 960fps slow-mo!” Yea... in 720p, which by today’s standards is trash. Literally the only significant difference is the processor, and I can guarantee you that when it’s compared side by side with the iPhone X in a real world speed test, the X will still best it because iOS. The camera’s neat, but we’ll have to wait and see if it measures up in the real world without putting the always fake-looking Samsung effect on them (by guess: doubt). But stop being so fake Jonathan. We all know you’re not going to use this as your daily driver. Just give your honest thoughts without sugar coating it.
FYI Jonathan, the in-camera translation ISN’T a feature of Bixby. It’s directly powered by Google Translate. And the Google Translate app, for iOS and Android, has been able to do live camera translations for a couple of years now.
