I’m really gonna miss these units as I used to play the Peninsula Corridor in TSW all the time when I was younger. Soon these engines will live on only in memory
@@adventuresofamtrakcascades301 I still kept the Peninsula Corridor as my primary favorite on TSW5 it’s officially legendary and the F40PH is legendary as well.
😢😢 I'm gonna miss all the F40s and Gallery cars. They've had such a useful career, which made me happy whenever I got to see them strolling up and down the peninsula. They will never be forgotten and always have a place in my heart of railroading
Farewell to the F40PH’s of Caltrain locomotives and gallery cars it’s time for retirement, but all is not lost I still operate F40PH on Train Sim World just enjoyable memories. 😢

Awesome Video Michael! You should’ve stopped by Fremont and caught the Albrae Local that I’m working on. Have a great day! Keep up the fantastic videos!
These were great cars during their apogee. The last few years, they are really showing their age, and its noticeable when riding them. They served their purpose and I have a lot of good memories on these trains. The only thing I really didn't like, to be frank and honest here, was the toilets on board stank up the entire cars during the evening commutes.
YES THERE IS A MARKET FOR THEM. SOMEBODY WILL PICK THEM UP AND REBUILD THEM AND PUT THEM TO WORK ON A SHORT LINE, OR, A Museum MAY PICK UP SOME FOR PRESAVATION, HOPEFULLY, SOMEBODY WILL SEE THE REAL VALUE IN THESE UNIQUE LOCOMOTIVES,I HOPE ❤
I am saddened that the Gallery cars are being retired for good now. It’s going to be very difficult getting cab ride videos now, including from Gilroy to San Jose as the Bombardier cars will be used. At least they’re keeping F40’s 920-922 for the service to Gilroy if I’m not mistaken.
Glad I got to see F40s run on the peninsula corridor one last time in April of this year, although these trains will be in service still w/o the gallery cars. Hopefully in the future Caltrain will invest in BEMU so that trains can go from SF - gilroy. (Which they are researching now)
I am curious. We do not produce enough electricity in this state anymore to prevent rolling brown outs and black outs. We are all supposed to switch to E V s. The State Of California just spent Billions to tear down a power generating dam on the Klamath River and the State had to sink the plans to close down The Last active Nuclear Power plant in the state which is located directly on an earthquake fault. Better keep those F- 40 s maintained and on standby.
Gracias por regalarnos estos trenes al Peru .te amo Estados Unidos.

+1, playing that line on TSW and commuting daily on the same line. The end of an era sure hits different
Me Too I Will Miss Them

Maybe 2 or some of them will go to the CSRM or Niles Canyon Railway

Memories for some will linger.
Great video.
Thank you for sharing.
Got to see them one last time myself last month, straight before the Stadler Soft Launch. My Favorite of them is 906.

So much character in the diesels ....

Is about time!! They get replaced by eletrick trains!! There just soo old now for allmost 40 years.... And i think is about time they get replaced.

R.i.p the desail trains and the Gallery cars
As a Chicagoan, it feels so wrong to see an F40 without a Mars light on it.
So weird to see diesel and electric power under wire, looks like Europe!
The EMD F40's have so much character compared to those EMU's.

Great video - Like me.
Better keep and maintain those F- 40 s as a back up plan. California s power grid is on Life Support.
