- This is a video review I did of the 2016 KTM 300 XCW. This bike performed amazingly in the woods. I put it to the test on some hills, logs, rocks, roots, and some open terrain and was very impressed with how it handled straight off the show room floor.
This bike has been the standard for offroad for many many years and what all other brands shoot for with their bikes. I can't tell you how much I'd love to roost those trails you was riding on this bike they looked great!!
It is amazing to see woman doing this sport that alot think are only for men, You go girl! Great riding skills aha!

Had that bike for about 4 months now. The 2016 300 is the best bike you could ever ride. Not one complaint

+Greg Lloyd WP suspension is some of the best on the market. A little tuning and you cant beat anything a KTM has to offer.

I am a shorter man, so I need a lowered seat. That is what my previous reply should have said. If you can ride a 300 then I can too. My next buy will be a 300 xc-w. It will be fun here in Tucson, Arizona. Keep up the great work.looking forward to more videos.

Looks like you really put it through its paces and came out smiling. Would be nice to add another edit focusing on the mechanical aspects of this 2016 model.

Bush bike...love it! Throw some studded tires on it with some cold weather and they run good. IDK though in the BC you might just run a timbersled set-up instead.

...y'all have some tough terrain up there in B.C.! Looks like some of the trails I used to cut along the old railroad right-of-way (that hadn't been used since the old logging days, about 38 years prior!) up in Kennebunk, Maine. And it got cold there too.

That bike looked really tall for you , how tall are you ? Only asking cause I'm only 5'-8" and most bikes are to talk for me at stock height .
I am 5 foot 3, so all full sized bikes are too tall for me haha. I make it work though. If you want to make your bike shorter but not lose ground clearance or handling, you could get a low seat.

Any idea on the fuel consumption?
+Henry Griffiths Thanks Henry. I didn't get to ride the bike from full to empty but I can guess in the more technical woods trails it would get around 60 kms to a tank and maybe 80 in fast open stuff. Just a guess though.
Is your current ride a 200? Do you think the 300 is as easy to throw around as a 200? Just curious, I've always had 250s...

+Len Pavia Yes I'm on a 200. I barely noticed a difference in weight between the two. I think the extra 100cc is worth it for a little bit of extra weight. It still feels super light and nimble!

do you know if you can plate 2 stroke KTM's like this?
Hoping for some input. My gal has been on a 04 crf 150f. She says she wants something with a little more power. At only 5'4" and 115lbs choices are somewhat limited. What bikes would you point her towards?
If she wants to stick with the four stroke, I would suggest to move to a KTM xcf 250. It will have way more power but it is still very manageable. The 250f is my bike of choice and I am 5 foot 3. It will definitely be tall though. I would suggest getting a low seat and maybe getting the suspension lowered as well, depending on how comfortable she is being unable to touch.
If she wants to go the two stroke route, I would highly suggest a KTM 200 xcw. They don't make them anymore as of 2017 but even a slightly used one would be great.

Yes I think you'd do fine on a KTM 300. It's got more than enough power and at the same time it is quite tame.

Can't go wrong with a ktm 300 or even a 200, I've been riding for years and have had both. the 300 is my favorite bike I've ever owned, Easy to ride if you ride it a gear high it pulls you around really well and if you want to go fast it has more than enough power to do so
What power spring were you running on it?
nice vid .cool bike.how about up and down hill.video .mybe in the forest with no run my bike just wont to wheel spin .with no run up got any tips .kx250 .dont say get a ktm.

Do you know if the starter problem has been fixed or not? Only thing keeping from going out and buying one.
I'm almost certain any of the 2 strokes from
2014 and up have that problem fixed.

l will stick with my yamahas...
I'm a Yamaha fan. Don't sell yourself short by not trying these bikes out, they are very good.

kokooos deathmolish it's a gray area for trail riding. Alot of riders will wear full gear, some non and everything in between. Crashing is common but not at nearly the speeds on the streets. So it's generally just bumps and bruises a broken bone once in awhile.
