    I admire you alot for taking the time to make these videos, you show the off-road community that this sport is for anybody with a passion to ride and race and that if you apply yourself no matter what sex or size, you can accomplish anything you set your mind to. And to be honest you would leave me in the dust lol, keep up the great vids! 👌🏻

    Yes , all can be lost when you're thrown back on the seat which usually leads to the front wheel coming over when climbing a rough steep hill .. Like you say , as long as you can keep one foot on the pegs you're still able to shift your weight over the handle bars and in control of the front end coming up . You're a great little rider . For me it's not about full speed all the time . There's more enjoyment in the technical stuff and trying to get through it without your legs flaying every where . Getting through it without putting your foot down feels pretty dam good .The interior of BC has so much to offer with all the different terrains . Have fun and stay safe

    I watched your vid then went up a long steep rut, I did exactly what you showed and it worked great. Thanks a lot! I started riding in 1965 rode for about 23 years then was off the bike for about 27 years. I bought a 2016 Husqvarna FE 450 last year and have been kicking it pretty good. Thinking about doing some enduros.

    really good point here is to "dab" IF YOU HAVE TOO! putting your foot down can be just as dangerous (potential to lead to injury) as taking the risk to throttle through with feet on the pegs.

    I'm guessin' that hill is a lot steeper than the video looks like it is. We had some when I moved to West Virginia from Maine that were just about inconquerable! That is actually one thing that's always come naturally to me (once I got past the getting off of the bike unintentionally on the downhill side of the bike!!) ...a very painful lesson.....all the way down....!! You hit it right on the nail's head though, staying on the pegs is the whole thing otherwise the only thing pushing the back tire into the ground is the weight of the bike alone. Great work and from an 'old school rider', you should be in Endurocross really soon, just stay healthy (read uninjured!) Great videos all, Thanks : )'

    • @megs_braap
      @megs_braap  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes the video never gives hills any justice. It was fairly steep but nothing crazy. Haha nothing worse than falling on the downhill side! Thanks again for the feedback Timm, it's always appreciated :).

      Megan's videos are so great compared to the dusty, caliche ridden stuff (with several exceptions) that we've got here in Texas! It truly looks like dirtbike heaven up in B.C. to me.....my humble input is just reaction to all of the well ridden, well filmed, well edited, and extremely well narrated stuff here!! Thanks but all credit goes to Megan : )' .....and with any luck, maybe I'll see y'all down the trail!

    Excellent advice and I'll definitely keep this in mind once I get my new-to-me 2000 EXC 200 set up in the next few weeks. This is my first 2-stroke and I'm considering putting a G2 throttle cam on during the setup, but many folks say that if you have good throttle and clutch control, it's not needed on the 200. Do you have any advice on that? Thanks!

    • @megs_braap
      @megs_braap  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +daddister Thanks! I had actually never heard of the G2 throttle cam until you mentioned it here. I looked it up and it looks like a pretty neat idea. Could possible make getting traction in tricky/technical terrain a little easier. I definitely wouldn't say it's a must on the 200 though. It's pretty tame and manageable. Thanks again for the great feedback :).

    and also commit to the climb, second guessing yourself is never good. Would love to see you lead a ride for the women at a Rocky Mountain adventure Riders event this year! Great Vid, Megan! :) Have you got any thoughts on how to reduce the pressure on the one's arms? I find I end up getting 'pulled' up and behind the bike instead of it driving me up the hill climb. This can be HUGELY fatiguing on the arms...

    • @megs_braap
      @megs_braap  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks Merlin! Thanks for watching :D. Something that help with your arm fatigue is to squeeze you bike with your legs. It's tough to get used to but it will help hugely in the long run!

    • @merlinlepper
      @merlinlepper 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your reply, Megan :) Yeah, I've been doing that also...I find myself slipping round a little tho. But I guess every little bit of bike/body contact helps. I always cover the front brake (and clutch) while I ride and one thing I've figured out recently is that by using that finger to hold on to the bar gives me just a little more power in the right hand to hold on more and makes a HUGE difference. I leave the clutch covered at all times tho just in case I need to modulate the power or go over a larger obstacle.
