Have an 09. Nice bike forsure. Thanks for identifying the reason I can’t drive it at any speed limit. Starting to make a whirring noise , thinking top end bearing or chain or both. 32K miles. Primary chain maybe?
No the first was made in 98 and sold in 99. These were made for the European market, but the Americans loved them as well and they ended up selling them more here.
I have an 06 NT that I absolutely love riding around town, I have it set up just the way I like it HOWEVER I’m considering selling it for a 2016 Dyna Lowrider S (117 Screaming Eagle) because it’s kind of a drag not having that cruise drive. After 75 on the highway my NT really feels like it’s being strained… 😔
Numerous things I like about this bike, the only thing I don't like is the normal forks. I personally think it would look a lot better with inverted forks.
I thought about getting a night train then I realized how many different models of bikes Harley makes and it seems like they just slap their name on anything and expect people to be crazy about it because it says Harley on it which leads me to believe quality is taking a back seat to quantity.from the fxslgbtqwtf models to the riker, breakout,street glide, road glide, Electra glide,wide glide,fat boy,lo boy, sportster,soft tail,v rod and the other 10,000 bikes with Harley on the tank it's just too much for me to try to keep up with.besides, EVERYONE has a Harley.I don't like having the same thing as everyone else.I bought a new dr650 and couldn't be happier.nobody around here has one and I ride comfortably two hours one way,rent a hotel, ride off road in the mountains,on road, do wheelies if I want to and can't see myself ever owning a strictly street bike ever again.Ive had more fun on my Dr than the last ten street bikes I owned put together.

Run a 2007 Night Train in Cape Town, South Africa. Best damn Bad Bike HD made - ever. Everything a motorcycle should be & a few more. Keep Riding.....

Yep, does look bad ass, sounds it too. Once I pay off my Road King, I'm finding either a 2008 or 09 Night Train as my back up ride.

The 1st night train was made in 1998, but was only available over seas. The 1st american train was 1999, and the last year they were made was 2009

Love the bike, have an 09. 30k miles runs great. Thanks for the info. BTW it has 2 adjustable shocks under there.
Got an 01 with a springer front end. Came with hardsided saddle bags which doesnt look as mean but are definitely nice.

Great bike. I have a matte black 09 nighttrain with 6.5 inch pullback risers and dragbar. Love it.
I like the dragbars too. Especially on a bike with some lean angle and a bike that you wouldn't want to ride for more then 5 or 6 hours.

You should upgrade to the Screaming Eagle Compinsater kit.... I just did on my 2008 Night Train and oh man!!!! It is nice!!!!

Are you happy with 5 speed
I’d prefer a 6 speed but, the bike is not fun to ride on the highway due to no wind protection. So, 6 isn’t really necessary for me.

Good luck took me years to find a 09. Ended up pleasantly suprised as the one I found had 5k miles and a big bore kit.
