Sombody has clobbered the frame which has holed - (maybe up over a kerb) - that probably did for the missing mufflers too. . Water ingress over the next 20 years has done the damage . . . Its not the "Hugger" model which can be identified by the lowered suspension and pullback bars

Good deal for a Harley, I'm guessing salted roads and the last owner never washed the bottom of his bike, I have three anniversary bikes myself. a Softail, Dyna Low rider and a sportster, and the original frames are still good.

Fuel does go bad...so I would drain it out and put some fresh gas before running it again

I'm in the market for an 14' Harley right now and I'm debating between 2014 RK (40000 miles) or a 14' Street Glide (65000 miles)...SG is +/- 2k more...what do you think? Oh and the RK have a Batwing included (not the same as the RG but still)

I am 75 years old, and have ridden motorcycles for almost 60 years. I've owned many bikes, big bikes, middle-size bikes, and small bikes. The Suzuki Savage 650 was the most fun of all the bikes I have owned. The most powerful .. no. The best looking .. no. The best ride .. no. So why the best of the line for me? It was inexpensive to operate, inexpensive to service, was indestructible, had tons of torque and I do mean tons, and it was very 'flickable' .. light weight, you could throw it around and have a ball doing so. Bigger bikes don't flick. Small bikes are flickable, but lack the power to do it well. Loved that Savage 650 and regret ever selling it.

Damn.. looks like I found my next bike... Sold my 05' GSXR 1000 last year due to my back and after 10 years on it, I couldn't take another. Sure, it was cool to do 209 mph but having had a 750 Katana before that, I was looking for another due to how nice that bike was to just ride. Sounds like this has the best of both worlds

Aggressive low bottom rpm torque is choked by S chape primary pipe restricted in high velocity area (top of pipe before first sharp bend down) It helps maintain lean mixture and "low emission ". also kawasaki used double pipe so OEM exhaust is very restricted. Building 1 inch plate before exhaust port inside pipe that match port floor, Will allow high velocity gas to escape. Plate when properly lifted up to 25 percent of port diameter will stop return wave which is known as back pressure. kawasaki 900 have 124 hp why 454 have only 50 hp? this crapy exhaust is taking up to 10hp and a lot of bottom torque.

To me, a guy that's rearing 60 and BIKED all my life but never owned a Harley or specifically a Street Glide I'm resorting to now just going USED due to well.....EVERYTHING. So currently all I ride is an 84 750 Honda Shadow that I keep in top shape and it's spotless...I am hesitant about old Harleys from myth stories about total engine rebuilds, lifters etc? I feel this helps me in my choice that I'm on the right track to look at older!

Beginner bike is 250 to 350 cc, more than 500 lbs is in no way a beginner bike, it takes time to be a real motor bike rider, be patient slow and steady wins the race

Got mine free cause it was laid down both sides, sat outside for a few years. 2 years, 2 grand, 7 thousand miles later I ride every chance I get. Its a good bit different then when I got it and worth every bit.
