    These vending machine collections remind me of the old 1940s Automat restaurants in the United States.
    Airplane meals without any crying kids or lost luggage!

    I especially appreciated the views of Toyko from your balcony. Thank you for sharing that. And the Coq Au Van sounded very good to me. I enjoyed this video. Nice mix of Toyko view and interesting vending machine food.

    I never knew you could get airline meals from vending machines! So interesting! I'll have to try it out next time I'm in Tokyo! 🍽️✈️

    Guys, thanks for an interesting vending machine tour! Yes, fall is here in okinawa. Today was 25c or 77f. in the evening, it will be 65 degrees f. Not quite light jacket weather. Take care guys!

    That was very interesting. There is a flight food vending machine in Haneda, I believe. Perhaps it is possible to buy a couple packs and then ask a flight attendant warm it up for you on a long international flight? Food quality in the economy class went down so much recently.

    Hi Shinichi, that coq au vin looked really nice, were the noodles more like fettuccine, or more like Asian egg noodles? I liked the look of the chicken rice and the paella as well, and I would definitely try to get some of these meals for a snack.

    I'll give this a go next time. Being on a plane is a miserable experience for me most of the time, so I avoid eating usually. Assuming it's close enough to the same thing, I'd be interested in knowing how the food actually tastes without my taste buds being all weird while flying lol. Did the machines offer heating options or you can only bring it home to heat it up yourself?

    • @IWillAlwaysTravelforFood
      @IWillAlwaysTravelforFood  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      These machines only dish out frozen food so you’d have to take it home to warm up. I like how each package comes with ice to keep the food from defrosting on your way home

    Whoa! What a great and intriguing idea 💡. Shinichi, I totally agree with you that the "Coq au vin" is my favorite. Question: why doesn't your microwave have a turntable in it to evenly heat the food. Does it heat it in a different way? Thanks. Have a great week and please say hi to Satoshi 😊.

    • @SurfDetector
      @SurfDetector ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That sort of microwave is called a flatbed microwave, they give a more uniform cook to the food than a turntable unit.

    When you said “it looks & smells like a real inflight meal” I thought - so burnt plastic with a tinge of sadness and disappointment?
    These look better than most North American inflight meals (definitely better than anything the airline I work for serves in economy class).
    I appreciate the video, but I would have better ways to spend ¥5,500 if I had a layover in Tokyo 😅

  • @perdomot
    @perdomot ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Not to sound critical but it would have been nice to see some of the shops in that area while you were going to the machines. Love finding and exploring places like that every time I visit Japan.

    なに? I think I may have one of the idea’s on why it declined after 2 years, the location is roughly out of the way and not too many people would go.
    Now, this place would be on my bucket list to go.

    The portion size looks just right for me (a small female), but I bet most American guys would need two or three of these meals to be satisfied. They do look good for a quick, convenient meal, though. Sassuga Japanese ingenuity in "instant" food preparation.
