i bet that most of these tas records will be improved by 1-10 seconds each, because the crazy potential of glitchy nosebugs has only started showing recently. you can practically teleport with them at arbitrary velocity. now we know that each second spent on all 4 wheels is a wasted second you're not nosebugging
There's plenty of TAS runs full of nosebugs, actually. But sometimes there's no way for the TAS to get a nosebug in a specific map, so it completes it the normal way

The tool intentionally doesn't work with tm2020 since the physics in that game could still be updated + "different goals for both games" (tm2020 focuses on live competition, tmnf focuses on old records)

In a way i think these non-noseboost TAS runs are more impressive, because a lot more tought goes into the theory crafting and strats themselves. With noseboosts you don't really need to think about lines too much, you just mindlessely chain nosebugs together. I might be wrong, and noseboost TAS might also have a ton of tought going into them, so correct me if i'm wrong.
