Hey, since the Punt Gun produces so much recoil, I think it would be interesting if you put it's stock against a zombie torso and fired it, to see how much damage it would do to you if you were to fire it from the shoulder
I'm blown away that you made giant lead balls for that punt gun. Not exactly what it was designed to shoot, but certainly a lot more fun than pounds of small shot.
Still legal to hunt with in some places. When I was a kid my uncles and grandfather on my mothers side used to use one mounted to a boat with a big flared ending on the barrel and they had it down to a science. Shoot the shotgun, wait exactly three seconds and fire the punt gun. Lake filled with bird ready to pick up.
@@michaelmay5453my brothers would tell me stories of people using these back in like the 1700s or 1800s on our duck hunting trips when I was a kid. It’s kind of cool to hear about people using them in more modern times.
Fun Fact: This is a One Bore. Bore/Gauge refers to the number of round balls you can make to fit the bore from one pound of lead. So a 12 gauge can get 12 fitted round balls from 1 lb. This is a One Bore as it takes a full pound of lead to make a round ball that fits the bore.
What if they managed to create a jar or filled projectile, with some smaller projectiles? If you can make the gun giant, what about the shell or casing, maybe a bath bead idea, filling one of those with something?
@@tickytickytango5634 sigh, check tranquilizer darts, so more of a dart or filled small caliber round, mix in small chemical agents or corrosive compounds and you could effectively shoot through any armour. A teaser of the idea is seen in the movie triple X, a revolver with varying types of ammunition.
I wanna see what it does to steel armor. Would probably look like a tank round went through it. I'm also curious if you could make armor penetrating rounds for it, and see how far they go through steel plates. I also think it would be neat to see it mounted on a punt boat.
Forcing the ceramic plate (or the majority of it, anyway) through the torso was impressive, to say the least... but now I'm wondering what would happen with steel. The ceramic was able to wrap around the ball after it shattered, making it smaller and better able to be pushed through. Steel would either have to bulge back into the body or make the torso explode as it was pushed backwards with mostly the same dimensions.... I would think.
Speed and having something harder than the armor penetrates armor. I don't believe it has the speed and definitely does not have the harness to penetrate level 3 armor. However, joules come into play and I believe it will turn the plate into a spinner and make the torso look like it was carved out by a boat prop.

2 thoughts: firstly, what would it look from fired from a boat, and how far would the boat travel from the recoil? Second, have you thought about making a sabot load using the 4 gauge projectile? It would be like a huge accelerator round. Higher velocity and power.
This is a black powder gun. Sabot doesnt really work well because you just have a very low burn rate, no matter what grain size and load. Unlike smokeless nitro powder, which can vary quite a lot depending in grain and packing density.
Definitely been curious about the boat recoil interaction… also wondering if you could load it with bird or buck shot to a similar grain, and what that would look like.
I love watching Scott come up with new and interesting ways to talk to himself in videos. Starting to feel like Pitch Meeting, but with more ordinance and zombie torsos! Love ya, Scott. Hope your holidays were amazing!!

I was going to say "now I'm satisfied. Armor plate test is what I've been waiting for from all these big guns, especially the punt gun", but I am so curious about a steel body armor plate handles it. It wouldn't become a sock for the lead ball so easily, and may maintain it's surface area to distribute the force
I’d like to see how the punt gun works as an anti-vehicle weapon, specifically against engine blocks! Also do the body armor again but use buck/bird shot.
I think the buckshot is just a pile of .45 rounds at once. So the ceramic would probably stop it but get chewed up and of course the rest that didnt hit the armor would shred the zombie.
Biting my tongue with USCCA right now. Scott, you really should look into what their actions have been. They likely may end up being compared to Liberty Safe's.
Agreed. I enjoy Scott and his content, so I don’t want to politicize it, they sponsored this episode - and that I can say good things about. Scott, good work as always!
It is cool the way the ballistic gel reflects the muzzle blast before it obliterates. Seems like the conclusion is that the armor kind of makes it more devastating.
I would love to see a steal plate against that. Idk if it’s because of the sponsorship if they don’t make a steel plate but it would be cool to see eventually.
Same. I think the lead would spall on a steel plate, robbing the projectile of much of its energy. I'm curiously if we'd still be looking at broken ribs (at the very least).
I love your collection of increasingly ludicrous large guns. I really am curious what the next iteration will be. I'd love to see what creative destructive uses you could find for a Napoleonic era cannon.
I think a "large canon" 42,36, etc balls would be way too unwieldy even for scot. But getting his hands on a 6lbs Canon would be cool, although I think he would need some upgrades to his range in order to keep it safe.
@The_Keeper Some British ships had small canons that shot 6lb ball or less that were strictly anti personel guns vs their larger 42/36 lb ones. Minion canons (that's their actual name) would shoot a 3-3¹/4 lb lead ball. Very close to the punt gun.. and quite possibly about yhe same ft/lbs of energy since the punt gun shoots it faster and with a much much longer barrel than those small canons of then1600-1800s
Scott I freaking love you man! This is the best video I have ever seen! The slo mo is AMAZING, I was smiling like a little kid the whole time brother. Thank you for making videos like this for us man, this is the kinda stuff I wish I could go out in the backyard and do and you are actually doing it! I’ve been hooked on your vids since I saw you shooting clay blocks with the 10mm. But look at you now! Shooting body armor with a punt gun! The only question this video has really left me with is… how many armored zombies can the punt gun shoot through?? Maybe one day we will know 😊
I would LOVE to see what it does to a Level 3 steel plate. Also, you could probably rig up a bore sight with a laser pen. just lay the laser in the barrel and do a half inch vertical correction or so from its point of aim.
Just wondering about the punt gun ammo... Instead of a ball, would it be worth trying to shoot a bullet-shaped slug? Same weight and diameter, but more pointy and streamlined. Thinking more about air-pellet shaped and custom cores like from @Tauflodermaus shotgun fame. Reckon you can turn this punt gun into a railgun with a lead slug and a steel backplate/tungsten core!
I don’t think so because I don’t believe these have any rifling, so I doubt a spitzer type round would do anything different? But I know very little on punt guns so don’t quote me on that 😂
@@stoops187 Spitzer type bullet's penetration isn't based on rotation. The rifling is there in order to stabilize the bullet in flight (objects rotating around the axis of their travel path stabilize). Taofledermaus has tested some slugs over the years which are self stabilizing without the need for rotation, those might be worth a try. However, with the damage already being as insane as it is, i dont think people will notice a big difference, at least not when shooting things like zombie torsos.
Hilariously it didn't go through all of the body armor, it did take most of vest that it didn't go through with it together right on out the back side of the torso! That's the greatest body armor shot I could never imagine I would ever see anything like it. That's got to be the G.O.A.T. shot footage I'm sure.
Worse, it caused the person wearing it to take even more damage than they would have with no body armor. There is dead, then there is "took a panel through the torso" dead.
Yeah not too shocking… I mean… you can’t really fire it from your arms lol and it’s not THAT dangerous considering if someone where to “attack” you with it, you do have time to use the bathroom, get your things, and drive off while the attacker is setting it up lol
I just want to say that I absolutely love your videos. It has been said already, but AR500 bodyarmor and punt gun would be absolutely awesome to see. I hope you’re doing well, brother. Stay safe
You should do a video where you test rounds made of the same shape and size but different materials like a steel ball, obsidian ball, flint ball, and or even a titanium ball too see how much the weight change and material effects the gun and its performance.

Setting up the sled must be very labor intensive, so I appreciate your time and effort in bringing these videos to us. Fury is most definitely my favorite to watch.
Scott, I love it every time you break out the punt gun. Watching targets "try" to stop that round is funny as hell. It just says idgaf and just keep on trucking all the way to your backstop. Keep up the awesome content!
That was freakin' hilarious! I'd love to see how the punt gun does against, say, a pillbox setup - i.e. reinforced concrete? Might be a pretty expensive setup but that would be interesting to see. The most fun though would be to see it go through running engine blocks again - but don't cut out the fire this time LOL!! Happy Holidays!
That softer core kevlar punching a hole through the torso is one of the most brutal things I've ever seen on this channel! Like a cannonball straight to the sternum.
@@GAIS414 It's an interesting point, I would be curious to see what the caliber was of the original 'guns' from the late medieval period where you had a guy with the ancestor of the long gun being propped up by a guy behind him. May have been similar caliber, idk. Now I'm actually curious about what the difference is between a cannon and a gun.
@@benrig89 I think there's a pretty broad spectrum. And of course it depends on who you ask. But personally I draw the line when you can't shoot the thing standing without support.
Should have tested it with steel plates, as ceramic plates are also kind of soft body armor and don't really work good against slugs with so much mass. Like they can break apart smaller, faster moving rounds, but that lead ball is just too solid. On the other hand, depending on the steel plate, I expect to see a huge bulge or crack and all of the bones inside zombie torso shattered. Also neck injury from shrapnel is possible, as I don't think the coating on the armor plates is designed to stop so much lead, but that is only if the slug will not stay intact, which I doubt.
2:57 this is how Scott’s been able to shoot such large calibers and guns over the years is he’s been taking his flinstone vitamins and drinking 2 gallons of milk a day for bone structure 😂
@14:03 in the video, we can see how effective castle walls were in the 1571-1862s and why canons became the weapons of choice in the age of sail... and yes, British naval vessels had various canons to include small ones which shot 12, 8, 6, and even somenthat shot one pound lead balls!
That was about what I expected. I'd like to see it shot at a giant block of lead, aluminum, and titanium. Maybe copper too. Something big enough that'd definitely catch a 50, and maybe even the 4 bore. You'll need better cover..

That might have been one of the most amazingly ridiculous things I’ve ever seen. Thank you Scott for your videos.
Agreed. The punt gun is absolutely brutal.
Coming up with new ways to talk to yourself is super easy, barely an inconvenience
@@--SPQR-- Wow-wow-wow... wow.
it's definitely got No Panic Button Please Calm Down vibes for sure.
After EVERY shot, Scotts like a kid at Christmas with the exclamations of wonder and excitement!
I guess he never gets tired of shooting things!
If there was anyone that deserved. Higher frame rate slow-mo camera, it is our boy Scott! It would be so worth it to get more slow mo shots. Still use his current one for an angle, and then a better one for our sick pleasures. Seriously, what a stand up dude. No cussing really, not too dirty, never just dumb content, but good fun for everyone. Thanks Scott and Pops!
Mind blowing to me that it could pull that entire plate backer through the chest like that. That’s a crazy amount of energy
Lmao. I,m pretty new to the K.T.B channel but it has to be the best gun and fun orientated show on the planet. Scott is a funny and cool dude.
I’d like to see how the punt gun works as an anti-vehicle weapon, specifically against engine blocks! Also do the body armor again but use buck/bird shot.
He's used the punt gun against a car and specifically shot the engine block in this video
th-cam.com/video/3wAUEDE2vnY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=GcLDUFBU20rQGRwx
I think the buckshot is just a pile of .45 rounds at once. So the ceramic would probably stop it but get chewed up and of course the rest that didnt hit the armor would shred the zombie.
Biting my tongue with USCCA right now. Scott, you really should look into what their actions have been. They likely may end up being compared to Liberty Safe's.
Agreed. I enjoy Scott and his content, so I don’t want to politicize it, they sponsored this episode - and that I can say good things about.
Scott, good work as always!
This channel is too good. Love the brutality and the dry wall smashing 😂 The punt gun is extreme violence! Scott is a legend!
This would be so cool to watch with the slow mo guys filming!
Man ain't no better way to past the time waiting in an office than watching Scott and his shenanigans!
It is cool the way the ballistic gel reflects the muzzle blast before it obliterates. Seems like the conclusion is that the armor kind of makes it more devastating.
I concur. That was the most devastating one yet.
The wife and I both REAAAAALLLLY want to see a "punt gun vs. Gun safe" smackdown! 😁
I bet that would make one heck of a smack when it hits!
That second shot was brutal. Punching the vest right through the back of the body is so messed up.
Dang, I wish the slow mo guys could have been with you on this one Scott! One of the best slow mo carnage I have seen on a balistic torso.
I would love to see a steal plate against that. Idk if it’s because of the sponsorship if they don’t make a steel plate but it would be cool to see eventually.
It doesn’t matter what you’re wearing, you get hit by that thing you are fucked 5 ways to Sunday lol also man I’d be scared of a ricochet…
Same. I think the lead would spall on a steel plate, robbing the projectile of much of its energy. I'm curiously if we'd still be looking at broken ribs (at the very least).
@@snowdogthewolf I can answer that…yes… lol
I wish I could like this a thousand times
I love your collection of increasingly ludicrous large guns. I really am curious what the next iteration will be. I'd love to see what creative destructive uses you could find for a Napoleonic era cannon.
Honestly. I think the punt-gun might actually be very close to doing the same kind of damage one of those cannons could do.
Anti missile laser cannon
Can we get Big Gustav, the railway cannon?
I like how Scott was wearing a wig, and the fact that he is using a Punt Gun 😂
Scott I freaking love you man! This is the best video I have ever seen! The slo mo is AMAZING, I was smiling like a little kid the whole time brother. Thank you for making videos like this for us man, this is the kinda stuff I wish I could go out in the backyard and do and you are actually doing it! I’ve been hooked on your vids since I saw you shooting clay blocks with the 10mm. But look at you now! Shooting body armor with a punt gun! The only question this video has really left me with is… how many armored zombies can the punt gun shoot through?? Maybe one day we will know 😊
Hell yeah
....and....he should make better choices when getting sponsors
That has to be one of the most gruesome slayings of a zombie torso. Good grief that was crazy.
As I predicted, the armor provided about as much protection against the punt gun as wet tissue paper.
I don’t think wet tissue would stack up inside the torso like that vest did 😂
I would argue that wet tissue paper would end in less over all damage!
Worse, it caused the person wearing it to take even more damage than they would have with no body armor. There is dead, then there is "took a panel through the torso" dead.
Fun fact! Given that the punt gun uses black powder, it is legally NOT a firearm.
Gotta love gun laws. I’d say that the second shot was survivable anyway so yeah. Not a firearm whatsoever.
That’s why cap n ball revolvers are great.
Yeah not too shocking… I mean… you can’t really fire it from your arms lol and it’s not THAT dangerous considering if someone where to “attack” you with it, you do have time to use the bathroom, get your things, and drive off while the attacker is setting it up lol

Scott your videos never cease to entertain and totally horrify me. 10/10 content it's what I'm here for. Never change man
I love just how much the punt gun looks like any other shoulder fired rifle or shotgun.
I just want to say that I absolutely love your videos.
It has been said already, but AR500 bodyarmor and punt gun would be absolutely awesome to see.
I hope you’re doing well, brother.
Stay safe
Rig your strongest guns to shoot at the same time at one ballistics gel dummy simultaneously!
You should do a video where you test rounds made of the same shape and size but different materials like a steel ball, obsidian ball, flint ball, and or even a titanium ball too see how much the weight change and material effects the gun and its performance.
I love watching & hearing Fury in slow motion. It's like you hear a distant, discordant piano note a millisecond before the fire and utter destruction. Setting up the sled must be very labor intensive, so I appreciate your time and effort in bringing these videos to us. Fury is most definitely my favorite to watch.
That is diabolical! Would love to see it up against ballistic glass.
Scott, I love it every time you break out the punt gun. Watching targets "try" to stop that round is funny as hell. It just says idgaf and just keep on trucking all the way to your backstop. Keep up the awesome content!
I LOVE HIS Intros!
Also be interesting to see how it would perform penetration-wise if instead of a round ball it was firing a civil war Era style minié ball.
That softer core kevlar punching a hole through the torso is one of the most brutal things I've ever seen on this channel! Like a cannonball straight to the sternum.
Well, don't get fooled by the stock. For all intents and purposes this is a cannon.
Always love these videos, body armour testing is so interesting!
6:36 I like how you were referring to the 500 or something blowing up
Should have tested it with steel plates, as ceramic plates are also kind of soft body armor and don't really work good against slugs with so much mass.
17:05 He's fine, he's feeling healthy.
Fury never disappoints, pure destruction 👍 thanks Scott
9:55 "doc, tell me you can fix this"
The Punt Gun is undefeated. All hail The Punt Gun.
" my vision is kind of blurry, it's kind of like something blew up in my face before" 😂😂😂
Scott, you never disappoint!!
That was about what I expected. I'd like to see it shot at a giant block of lead, aluminum, and titanium. Maybe copper too. Something big enough that'd definitely catch a 50, and maybe even the 4 bore. You'll need better cover..
I absolutely LOVE that long barrel mini cannon. I'm actually curious how far it would push a small Jon boat it was mounted to on the ground (or on water).
A few feet. Ive seen some videos. Its nothing dramatic tho like an actual 10lb cannon would be tho😂
4 bore vs torso strapped with tannerite YES boommmm
You know every time I see Kentucky ballistics notification pop up, I almost half expect to see him with a 105 mm howitzer. It's a question of when not if.
9:35 out of every ballistic dummy video on this channel that has to be the best slo mo
Another perfect video! Always look forward to seeing your content Mr. Ballistics, keep up the banger work my man.
I've never gotten a heart before from a content creator before, especially from a creator that i think highly of like yourself! Thank you @KentuckyBallistics that made my end of the year perfect
Now we need a home-made armor vs punt gun challenge!
I laughed so hard at that first shot!🤣🤣😂IDK why, something about body armor against a small cannon just cracked me up

I love the sound of the report in slow motion. It’s interesting that the primer to barrel blast has such a long delay. And the report sounds so satisfying slowed down.
I’m preeeeettty sure there’s no original sound in slow motion videos. People put in sound effects after so that it feels “right” but I may be wrong
