Hyuna literally made Cube what it is today. They should have shown her more respect regardless of the circumstances.
@yeji ponytail they might be bringing in more money now but what cube ent is today has a lot to do with hyuna. her popularity back in the day was the reason why cube wanted her in their company and paid so much attention to her. if you watched this video, you'd see how popular she was and can estimate how much of a profit she brought in which in turned built the company :)

After the success of 4minute, Cube debuted BEAST months after. After Hyuna’s debut in 4minute, the public interest in Cube Entertainment’s idol groups was piqued, which arguably led to the success of the company. Also, as an individual artist, Hyuna was the most recognizable figure in the company, often being referred to as Cube’s Queen. I mean, she was recognized internationally due to her appearance in Gangnam Style. Also, it’s a mistake to only look at Sales. An idol makes most of their money off CF/brand deals and Hyuna’s brand value was through the roof during her era.

Looking back, it was prominent that HyunA was overly sexualised by her companies. In her debut with Wonder Girls, she wore the shortest skirt despite being one of the maknaes. It continued in Cube Ent., her solo debut was sexy and “provocative” even though she was not at a legal age yet in Korea. Troublemaker pushed it further, she was 19-20 and she was already kissing a guy for a music video. If this happened in this current era, it would be a big scandal.

Just a few years ago when I was 16 orso I really disliked Hyuna, since I went from bubble pop to seeing all her sexier songs and was horrified, until I saw videos of interviews with her and how much of a sweetheart she is and her talent. And honestly I was still bopping to her songs whilst hating her so that already proves something lmao. So now she's one of my favourite solo artists EVER, and even though I'm personally not a very ''sexy'' person, her music really gave me confidence to go wild, she definitely is god! i love how's this as a song but i despise it as an era because of all the mental stress it put hyuna under. her group disbanded with all of the members refusing to speak to her, a lot of 4nias blamed her for the break up, and she was forced to have a comeback by her company despite trying to fight them. i will never forget that video clip of her after a press conference, curled up in a dark room, sobbing and repeating "i hate myself." it's heartbreaking and infuriating because, even at the verge of a mental breakdown, people were still trying to profit off her by filming her.
that video of her performing with wonder girls? she was 14. she did not want to wear that outfit. she did not want to dance sexually. but she had to anyways. although she's now embraced it, she used to hate doing sexy concepts but her companies forced her to. she's been exploited from the moment she entered the industry and it's awful. babe touches on it in a really good way

I stumbled on this video and somehow I remember Hyuna from 2009-2010 Invincible Youth where Narsha of BEG is also part of. In my opinion, Hyuna was a little bit influenced by Narsha or BEG indirectly. BEG started the sexy dance in KPop, Hyuna normalized sexy dancing in KPop. Back in '09-'10 BEG's sexy dance was still considered provocative. Just my opinion.
