You could have soloed all their armies just with vampire lords and animate dead. I recently started playing SoD and if I get a vamp dwelling, AI is done. If I fight conflux, then I bring skellies. All other towns conquered are just for money generation, don't even need dread knights or liches, I just ignore them. Necro is OP as hell in Shadow of Death. Also as an aside, not related, but with that level Galthran you can use around 45 vampire lords to solo any dragon utopia size :D Bring some one stack fodder to soak up initial attacks, go to the corner and vamps will shine. Commonly autoresolve manage to destroy max tope with no loses as well, and it obviously has no idea about the corner magic trick. I got some insane artifacts from the topes early, in like week 4, Galthran had 20+ stats everything and was demolishing all AI opponents on autocombat with little losses.

I've never played this game before, but while I was waiting for the next episode I went back and watched your Christmas special with Daremyth. Anyway, I was watching at 53:10 thinking "go for the berserk... wtf happened then? Where were the red squiggles". Regardless, the series is looking in a better place than you were in episode 6-7 of that series. I'm loving this series, hope you're enjoying making it too :)
0:53:10 - That's gotta be a glitch of some kind… Even if an army is immune or if the opposing hero has some sort of negation artifact… it _should_ have said something in the logs and/or shown some sort of effect. It _did_ play a weird sound - that low, wobbly noise - but otherwise? Nada. Very odd.
But I don't understand.... Why didn't you occupy the mines? You hadn't NOTHING in resources cause you have NO MINES!
He plays fairly well but commits a serie of mistakes like these. If he chose to pay more attention to the game he would be a formidable player.

Now, here's an odd question: Would you willing to play Battle for Wesnoth for us? It's a really old school open source turn based tactical game set in a high fantasy world (with hexes!) and there isn't really a lot of content of it on youtube to my knowledge. It might be something you enjoy (and I certainly know that I would enjoy, you walking us through your thought process, when playing the game!)

Hey, thanks for the kind words. To be honest I'm finding it really hard to make time to properly learn new games at the moment, even the 3 games I'm currently playing have me feeling pretty stretched. I'll try to remember the name of the game in case I get a better moment to check it out

You can download a DRM free copy I think for around $10 from some website GOG dot com. It's about a 20 year old game that originally came on CD ROM and I think required the CD ROM to play…

It hurts seeing you ignore the fact that the Conflux town can build a magic university which you can learn Earth Magic from. it is expensive but necessary for the last skill slot for your main hero after you moaned about not being offered Earth Magic skill the whole game…

Another suggestion, but I don't know if it makes editing more obnoxious for you that way-it feels pretty natural to, instead of having one hour long episodes, to split the episodes at the end of one in-game week. It might keep it more engaging this way, since it's easy to loose sight of what was going on in an hour-long episode after some while.
Yeah, that would probably take a bit too long tbh, plus I try to respect that a lot of my viewers aren't necessarily into HoMM3 so don't want to fill their sub boxes. The biggest English HoMM3 TH-camr is frequently uploading 5 hour+ marathons so this might actually qualify as a relatively short video :o
I actually like the format as it is, a big meaty chunk to sit down and watch. Everyone has their own preferences but I like the current format, really enjoying the series :)
I know im late but started playing few days ago and i play on easy.... a mf enemy heroe had 240 mana and alwayes summoned some rock gollems.... wtf i lost everything xDD
Unless you played for several months of in-game time, the enemy probably had a Dungeon town with a building that doubles mana.

Choose tower as starting town and Solmyr as starting hero. That will make any difficulty "easy" difficulty IMO.
